Shradow
Taking place many years after the events of The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, a now adult Mandy rules her realm of hell alongside her husband Grim. The story focuses, however, on their children: the skeletal son, Grim Jr., and patchwork daughter Minnie Mandy (Minnie for short). It all begins with a retelling of the past, with what seemed like a harmless visit to Uncle Jack in Halloween Town... The series has crossovers with several others, some of which can be seen in this little tourist's guide to the underworld. Grim Tales is easily my favorite webcomic and also has my favorite arstyle ever (though it didn't start off looking as nice), drawn by bleedman, the artists behind other such works as Powerpuff Girls Doujinshi and Sugar Bits. It is available to read at Snafu-Comics.

Shradow
Though there's not always a lot of focus on her, Mandy is probably my favorite character. She's badass and says some of the coolest things, like in the most recent strip. Cin
Mandy has always been epic, but GTFDB make her more awesome.

Cin
Obviously. Mandy is very well written in the comics.

Cin
I know, the writing it pretty good as well as keeping established characters still within what you'd expect. How often can you say that about fan work?
lce
There's only so much one can like about such a huge crossover fanfiction. Like, really. Danny Fenton screwing Mandy many years in the future. I must say credibility for this comic died then and there.
Shradow
Except it wasn't Danny Fenton, it was Dark Danny. By the time period Grim Tales is in, Danny is almost assuredly dead, made into a real ghost.

My point is you randomly throw in a Nickelodeon original into a Cartoon Network follow-up fanfiction thing. It didn't lose credibility because of time inconsistency. It lost it because it randomly threw in a character from another completely different franchise.
Shradow
It's a crossover series, it's been like that since the beginning when they got saved by Spawn, followed by a flashback that spent a lot of time in Halloweentown. It's not random at all. You can't say that a series suddenly loses credibility for having a crossover when it's always done that.

It's not random at all. "Random" as in, okay it's a crossover series with cartoon network shows and then SHEEEEET disney things and the SHEEEEEEEEEET nickelodeon kicks in. Also it got really stale, because we now have Negral!Death!Kawaii!boy and his adventures of interaction with a tentacle. The story has very little drive currently. You seem to be taking my words really literally rather than reading into what I'm saying. It may be hidden pretty well by its art but it's still the kind of crossover fanfiction you can read anywhere.
Shradow
That's still not random, though. The first crossover to show up, as I said, was Spawn, who is a comic book superhero. And not even a DC or Marvel one. Other Cartoon Network series were some of the last to show up. Whether I'm taking them literally or not is beside the point, your complaints are objectively unfounded. And I stopped reading fanfics several years ago because they're mostly terrible. Just because it's based off of a fanfic shouldn't mean a thing, because if it did I never would've started reading this series at all. This isn't terrible, so it's obviously not some crossover fanfiction I can read anywhere. If you've actually read said fanfic, it'd be nice if you told me how similar they actually are. If you've actually read said fanfic, it'd be nice if you told me how similar they actually are. To name a few things... >Repeated deus ex machina performed by characters you'd never expect >Romance between canon characters of the show (read: shipping) >The child of one of the canon characters as the "original character" >The combination of powers from canon characters into a new character. Again with taking my words literally. Why "said fanfic"? When I say "a fanfic" I refer to "any fanfic"; not "this one fanfic in particular". Shradow
Except for maybe the first of your points, those complaints are more your problems, not the comic's. At this point your just being needlessly nitpicky about things that have little to no relevance, or aren't true. Shipping happens, canon or not, in all kinds of series. Even if they are children of non OCs, that doesn't stop them from being OCs. And these characters are their own, with personalities and feelings, not just some amalgamations of powers from others. I just said those are things this comic has in common with regular crossover fanfiction. You interpreted them as problems. For some reason. Shradow
Well, up to this point you've been complaining, so why would that suddenly change? And the thing is, a lot of those things happen in media, period, not just crossover fanfictions, which is why it's silly to list them. And the quotes implied that you meant they weren't. I've been complaining, yes; but does that give you the right to twist my words? You told me to list similarities. I did. My point was always that it was similar to written crossovers. As for the "media", using a word as vague as that doesn't give you any stronger arguments. Plus there is still the one point you can't deny, the very soul of a crossover. You know, the crossing over of characters.
Shradow
I didn't twist your words out of spite or anything, it was a mistake. I asked, quite clearly, if you had read the fanfic Grim Tales was based off of, if you could say the similarities between it and the comic. I said nothing about bringing up other fanfics. And I'm not trying to use "media" to strengthen my argument, it's to weaken yours (but as you said, they weren't actual complaints, so it's a moot point now). And when have I every tried to deny anything about crossovers? I say as much in the OP.
