bury the year
Okay, I should've said this a few pages ago, but I really shouldn't be seeing this much chatter before the roleplay has even begun. When applying, just post your application, wait for feedback, and modify in turn. Keep other discussion to barebones minimum, and take anything not vitally essential to PM. There shouldn't be 11 pages of crosstalk before things have started - I will lock roleplays that can't keep it together. Consider this a general warning. |:(Expect a rules update in the next day or so reflecting the contents of this post, by the way. I've been meaning to do it for a while before seeing this.) .:Blu:.
I must say that the majority of the posts in this OOC has been on-topic but I won't ignore the posts that are pointless chatter either. My apologies, Rinne. I'll be sure to keep unessential chatter to a zero from now on.

Super Chaos Sonic
I HAVE COME TO REAP A BOUNTIFUL HARVEST
Personal Information Username: Blue. Yeah. More blue. I like blue. Name: Bayard Payne Age: 18 Gender: Male Date of Birth: October 31st Hobby(s): He's not really used to having so much free time so he's trying to find hobbies.
Standing at 6' he towers over many people and with a clearly athletic physique gained from being the oldest son in a faming family he seems to suit a soldier of the Ground Troops perfectly. In contrast to typical ground troop armor which is heavy and meant to deal with severe blows Bayard prefers something more similar to his farmer roots. Something that doesn't restrict his movements or way him down, allowing for more advanced combat with his scythe or at the very least the potential for it. In this case he dawns basic leather armor (hat not included) which allows him to fight properly with good mobility, gain some defense, and get some distance from his former peasant rags.

As a young man who lived out in the countryside with his family as his only source of reference for other people Bayard lacks a lot of the class, culture, social skills, and even education that somebody from the city may have. Due to this he may comes across as blunt, rude, dim, apathetic, and/or simply sort of goofy when it'd mostly just be attributed to incredible shyness. Although being blunt about most things would actually be a true factor of his personality likely attributed to simply how one is with family. He tries to be a generally nice guy but that's something also sometimes lost due to his social skills or when it may turn out to be highly inconvenient to him. His greatest flaw as a person would be an incredibly weak will. Even when he doesn't agree to what he's told he finds himself completely incapable of speaking up against it. This is more true when dealing with authority but he could also be pretty easily roped into somebody's shenanigans. In combat Bayard has an excellent understanding of his own skills and will never rush into what's clearly too much for him even though his lack of combat expertise and the effect magic plays on a battle may make it hard to tell at times. This also gives him the habit of avoiding straying from allies. One thing he always takes note of is that retreating is an option. Pride isn't worth dying for.

A farmer's life isn't bad. Being the oldest of seven siblings isn't either. It certainly wasn't a romantic lifestyle like what some may have thought. It was hard work everyday in order to work hard for every day of the next year but it was definitely a way to get by. It was the life that many previous generations had but the first person to break this trend was Bayard's uncle. It was what was thought to be a sign from god that sent his uncle to the city where he soon became a wallguard. Every so often his uncle would come back and talk about the city and what it was like to be in the wallguard, at some points even bragging about the pay which would be silenced by a verse from some holy scripture. Bayard never really cared for the stories though. They never caused any sort of dreams or aspirations. He was a farmer. It wasn't a bad lifestyle. It was only the idea of somebody else deciding the value of his life and his supposed inability to change it that he could never truly swallow. His parents followed a religion, titled Arknism, which had the basic idea that fate is predetermined and the only real point of life is to worship their god, Yrnerva, and in every family the first born, at the age of 25, must travel to the Central Church of Arkna and spend half a decade there as a monk. Time was ticking closer and closer to then but at eighteen Bayard didn't feel like he could handle it anymore. A belief he couldn't actually buy was constantly nailed into his head for all those years. His aspirations were never past being a farmer but he didn't ever want to believe his life wasn't what he himself wanted. Conditions became terrible and that may have turned out great for Bayard. A long drought came over the land. Without basic necessities people were becoming desperate and Bayard's family wasn't left out of this. Bayard could finally see a chance to escape. Maybe not for long but it'd at least get him some time away from it all and a possible means to an end. He remembered his uncle's stories and reminded his family of them. Most notably the parts involving pay. He told them that since he was clearly a strong and capable young man that he could join the Wallguard with ease and send them back money. His family believed that Yrnerva's will was shining brightly through him that day but Bayard knew he was doing something on his own.
Combat Information Primary Division: Ground Troops
Scythe- A simplistic scythe originally used for cutting grass and harvesting crops. It was the tool in his family's possession that could best be used as a weapon. Although the scythe is not really the most effective of weapons his many years spent with it has made him quite adept in its use.

There's nothing a farm boy has in these regards that's worth mentioning.

Mowing- Downwards sweeps with the scythe to cut at an enemy's feet and ankles in order to severely reduce mobility via cuts of varying depth or, what is more often the case, cut feet off. Can be used in rapid succession even while moving forward although ill advised.
Other Information Bayard doesn't really care about dragons. Not hate, just indifference. They've been supposedly dead for 200 years after all. Bayard is simply a name for people with reddish-brown hair. His parents are simple farmers, cut him some slack. Seeing as how he didn't gain a sister until he was 10 he had to help cook and is therefore able to at an adequate level. It's not something he really enjoys though. Three of Bayard's siblings are dead from varying reasons but none of them were counted for when mentioned that Bayard has seven siblings.
Somehow...I knew he was going to join in too. Hopefully it won't hurt my chances of getting in on this one.

Raionhāto's normal appearance is that of a youngish boy with spiked light-brown hair and matching eyes. Standing at 157 cm and weighing 46.5 kg, he looks sort of young for his age. He is mostly seen with a slightly fancy teal vest with leather strappings and a silk scarf with some small ornamentations over the adam's apple, which is fastened around a white sleeveless shirt piece. His pants are slightly large long cargo pants of a light-blue color tucked into his silver-grey boots made of tough leather with metal plates. Multiple belt straps weave around his waist line. He doesn't wear any earrings however, nor does he carry gloves or short swords, as well as not having a tail. However, he does have two slightly thick and long metal wristbands of a red and silver metal around each arm. This is his usual outfit when he is not in his uniform. Sometimes, to conceal his appearance however, or if needed otherwise, he dons a black robe with the hood over his head which he ties together at the front over his clothes. The back of the robe has some intricate mysterious designs somewhat resembling wings in grey. He has a near perpetual smile on his face, and is seen enjoying various activities throughout the day. When he is battling, some changes occur over him. His hair lights on fire of a yellow-orange color at the front in a trident-esque or triangular shape, as well as his Dragon's Breath gauntlets unfolding from the wristbands over his hands and wrists, lighting on fire of a slightly darker orange color. The fires are extremely hot, but they do not hurt him nor do they affect his belongings. His eyes also turn a fire-like orange-red. A brace-esque ring forms around his right leg a slight bit above the knee, linked by a chain to his belt. Raionhāto also has various rings on his persona which strengthen and partially fuel his power.

The first thing anyone will notice about Raionhāto is his [acronym="Not like that, you goddamn dragophile."]fantasizing[/acronym] about dragons. Unlike probably any other human, he desperately wants to see dragons, and hates the fact that the ancient Extinction War had occurred between the two races, possibly even literally driving the dragons to extinction. Having heard from lores and previous tales painstakingly collected to learn every scrap of information about them in his quest of sorts to find out more about them, his love for them is evident, willing to risk severe punishment. Until recently, he had been not more than optimistic that he would see a dragon, not seeing anything. However, in one of the old lores he had found, it had stated that dragons could take a human avatar. Now ever revitalized, he is extremely happy, and makes an effort to get to know everybody, partially to be friendly, partially to see if he can find any dragons. If he actually stumbled upon a dragon, Raionhāto would be ecstatic. Not the trigger-happy feeling of most humans. The dragon might attack him, but even to sort of extreme measures, he would try to connect and converse with it in friendly talk - as he had seen from the lores that dragons were capable of speech - asking all sorts of curious questions that he had, but respectful enough not to pry too much. The next thing one will notice is that he is very good person in general. If he sees a person that was hungry and miserable, and couldn't support themselves, unless he had extremely good reason to, he would buy the person some food, or give him his own if he couldn't buy any quickly. He is not naïve however. If a rich person was too lazy to get his own food, or a man was being extremely rude, he would refuse and walk away. Empathy is also another major portion of his nature, and if something bad happened to someone, he'll suffer alongside with them. He couldn't bear the thought of the own happening to his own, closely bonded, true friends, and can appear to be overly protective sometimes. When the situation demands he hide his feelings though, he can try, but it'll usually be a terrible attempt at doing so, as he is temperamental and fragile at times. He is also impatient when he wants to do something that isn't harmful or selfish, but sometimes can appear as stuck-up to some people, although he doesn't mean it. He is smart, and can evaluate his chances at battles very well, and if a person challenges him to a battle, he'll think it through - at least that's what he'd like to think. Very strong-willed, in truth, he is not one to back down from a challenge, and his friends or others can view it as foolish sometimes, taking on a person much stronger than him, and even if he gets battered, he won't stop 'til he wins or gets knocked out or killed. Thus, Raionhāto tends to usually have a couple of bruises and cuts, although not too bad most of the time. He views these challenges as fun, although he is aware of the true nature of fights. When his friends or family are threatened however, he becomes deadly serious, and won't hesitate to defend them to his utmost, fighting with every last cell in his body, his will quite literally bursting into flames. This has resulted in an ugly knife wound that still remains in his gut, but in the end, when his friends joined in and the police force arrived, a severely wounded Raionhāto had claimed victory, the criminal unconscious. He does not know how to fight as any experienced person would, but it was more of battering the person and dodging or blocking blows until he won. However, he will not resort to dirty tricks or killing, as he values honor and life, and thus has not ever done so. If circumstances press him hard though… who knows…? This may make it seem he will do it for all his friends, and that is true. One of the reasons is that he does not have many friends, as his appearing-to-be difficult attitude and seeming foolishness drive them off, or against him. However, the few in the crowd that dealt with it and reached to Raionhāto's big heart inside were his true friends that would support each other in any kind of scenario. They fight now and then, but it is more of a friendly fight of sorts rather than an actual fight. Some things that females probably would be annoyed about is that Raionhāto is a voyeur of sorts, and he does not mind messing around with a girl's head in various non-harmful ways. As one would expect, this has led to him being slapped a bit, and having to be wary of certain girls, but otherwise, he is still the same, much to the amusement of some of the other guys - and more to the displeasure of the girls. He has been known for telling very crude jokes, as well as owning wandering eyes, but Raionhāto is not an actual pervert like some people, and just leaves it at that to gently tease at girls. On the matter of girls, he has never really found his "special someone", but he doesn't mind teasing some of the girls who pursue him sometimes.

Combat Information Primary Division: Magic Brigade Secondary Division: Archer Squadron

Dragon's Breath Dragon's Breath" is Raionhāto's gauntlets that he wears to fight with. These gloves appear just as normal braces around his arms, until he activates his powers, and they unfold into their full form. They are mostly red, with flame patterns around the wrists. They have a white-blue spherical crystal on the back of the hand, outlined by a spell circle, with a red cross over it. Also, a leg bangle is part of the gear, connected to Raionhāto's belt via a chain. Bow and Quiver Full of Arrows As part of the Archer Squadron, he carries his required bow with him, although a magic spell can mostly make up for it, rendering this more of as a back-up whilst recharging.

Rings They serve to enhance his powers, and many of them are melded together into stronger rings. These grant him more power as well as giving him different powers. These are all entirely melded into the gauntlet as a whole, and cannot be accidentally lost or stolen. Various lores on the times before the hatred between the two races Although these are expressly banned by the government, and most have been burned, he has painstakingly collected them in his quest to learn more about dragons. Being caught with these would mean they would be burned, and he would be outcast and punished. Even so, he pores over them lovingly, at least as a substitute until the day he can finally see a dragon. Archer Squadron Uniform Part of the required clothes as an Archer Squadron, however, he had his vest altered as not to use Wyvern Scales, as those were relatives of dragons, and Raionhāto hates that. Instead, it was some reinforced steel specially treated to become stronger. His boots were also replaced with toughened leather and reinforced steel.

Manipulation of Heavenly Flames Raionhāto can manipulate the energies of heaven in their true form as a type of fire. Much hotter and stronger than any normal fire that can be made, this type of fire can match dragon fire at its strongest, which is actually similar to this. However, Raionhāto is not that strong, and can only use this fire mostly to the extent of a slightly stronger regular fire. In addition, the fact that it is the fire from Heaven itself grants it some unique powers. Some of the powers include, but are not limited to purifying or destroying darkness, depending on how one manipulates the flames. Raionhāto cannot do this as of yet though. The flames are orange-yellow, and pure-white if it is really concentrated.

Rekka Shōkyaku (烈火 焼却 Lit. Conflagration Incineration): Lighting up his gloves with a raging fire, Raionhāto thrusts out his palms to blast a stream of fire around one hundred to two hundred feet that can incinerate most things, hitting a wide area of maybe 50 feet in diameter as it spreads out from the origin of the gloves. This is one of his powerful signature moves, but he cannot use this too often as dragons would be able to, nor is it as powerful. He can only use this a couple times a battle. Enjō Atemi (炎上 当て身 Lit. Combustion Blow): Concentrating an unbelievable amount of Heavenly Flames around his hands, Raionhāto lunges at the target, before unleashing a massively powerful punch (with one hand or the other, but only once) that can hit with enough force to make a small crater. However, as with Rekka Shōkyaku, he cannot use this very often as dragons would be able to, nor is it as strong as a dragon's would be though. He can only use this a couple times per battle.

Inferuno Tatsumaki (インフェルノ 竜巻 Lit. Inferno Tornado): Concentrating on his fire powers, he can conjure up a tornado out of thin air spinning at high speeds around a target or an enemy or to burn through things in a path that Raionhāto can control. He cannot use this too often however, and it is not as strong as a dragon's attack. Sesshu Aigisu ([摂取 アイギス Lit. Absorption Aegis): Like how dragons can absorb in their element, Raionhāto can mimic this slightly, and absorb fires to gain strength. Even if they aren't Heavenly Fires, he can take regular fires and change it to a Heavenly Fire after he absorbs it. However, against something like Dragon Fire, although he can block it for a while, this can overload him and knock him out, leaving him defenseless. He can have it so it doesn't absorb, but it still won't last long against Dragon Fire. Taiyō no Hikari no Tsubasa (太陽の光 の翼 Lit. Wings of the Sun's Rays): Loving dragons and wanting to be like one of the past, his magic presented himself in many ways, including fire manipulation and blasts and such otherwise, this was one of his happiest gifts. Taking the purity of his love for the dragons and the energies of the Heavenly Flames, he can create a mimicry of draconic wings in a radiant white-yellow blaze that he can actually fly around with for a good deal. This can last around 15 minutes before needing around a couple hours of recharge. However, many people disapprove of this, saying he is taking his dragon-esque spells too far, not knowing of his love for them. Fenikkususarubo (フェニックス サルボ Lit. Phoenix Salvo): As part of the Archer Squadron, he has a required bow with him, but it does not see much use. Why? This technique is pretty substantial and can replace it until he runs out of energy. Reaching towards the sky, he summons the Heavenly Flames into his palms, before clenching his fist powerfully, spraying the flames out to the side in a bow shape. He then takes some left over flame or more, depending on how much he used to make the bow, and creates arrows. Setting the arrows to the bow, he can then fire them at a slightly higher speed than a normal bow, and being part of his energy, he can control it, although he cannot control it completely. This is a rather normal technique, and he can fire around 30 arrows before he needs to recharge his energy, during which he can use his normal bow.

Other Information • He has singed himself before, to amusing effect, but as he got stronger, the flames no longer harm him. • He eats anything, having an iron stomach. • He tests setting different things on fire, mostly just for entertainment, other times, out of curiosity, then absorbing them.

The "seen" link is broken. Was it really necessary for him to exactly replicate Tsuna with the part where flames appear on him in combat? At any rate, there isn't anything wrong with the appearance.
For the personality, you should give a reason as to why he is a dragophile, maybe his grandfather always told him stories or something like that. I also don't see how it is evident that he loves dragons if what he does to show his love is discreet illegal activities.
Where did you describe this "appearing-to-be-difficult attitude" that pushes friends away from him?
You could have some examples of things he does to mess with girls' heads.
Not sure if lores belong in equipment as they don't really help him in combat. And what does he store them in?
The first incineration technique is too strong, you can easily take out an entire unit of enemies with it. You said it's not strong, but then you also said that it can incinerate most things. Incinerate.
All his abilities are quite powerful, especially as they are Heavenly Flames...
OVERALL: His appearance and personality make him into the typical protagonist or a protagonist's friend type of guy because of his similarities. It's a solid app, but in a limited acceptance RP, with the protagonist type of character slot already filled by the main protagonist, I'm not so sure about him, you should try to make him more unique. His abilities also appear to be too powerful. Aix
Tell 'cha what Aixybaby I'll have a look at yours If you go over mine. I've only had like 1 review so far >E< Explain more on where he recites LOVELESS, does he walk around all day reciting it or does he stay in his room keeping away from other people. You should tell us what happens if someone tries to interact with him If he doesn't care for other humans, why does he care if they speak behind his back, it's more like he looks down on other people. It'd be interesting if he were actively trying to find what his own motives were. The last bit in your personality doesn't really belong there. There isn't much problem with the rest of the app. Wow, fire magic is so extremely popular.
Tormented
Explain more on where he recites LOVELESS, does he walk around all day reciting it or does he stay in his room keeping away from other people. The reciting process is more when he is in battle or when he deems it/has time to read it, I'll add that to other or something along those lines. You should tell us what happens if someone tries to interact with him Will do. If he doesn't care for other humans, why does he care if they speak behind his back, it's more like he looks down on other people. I suppose in theory I could be more accurate about that. The whole app had contradictions and alas I must've missed that one. So yes I'll fix that. It'd be interesting if he were actively trying to find what his own motives were. Well the RP hasn't begun yet so we shall see if I get accepted. The last bit in your personality doesn't really belong there. Removed. There isn't much problem with the rest of the app. Good to hear. Wow, fire magic is so extremely popular. I was hipster. 2cool4disclub but srsly him wearing red all the time just made it something that fit well with his persona. Astolfo
Hey Blu, do the different factions ever really meet with each other besides when they're on break or during a battle? I'm curious because as I edited my app, I have it as pure Magic Brigade now, and I sort of want to have some interaction with Shiki.

Astolfo
"I consider everything that happened to be precious moments of my life. The pain. The suffering. The fun… And I am here right now, because everyone was there for me. I couldn’t have accomplished anything by standing still, without anybody’s help. I treasure every moment I have spent here. Unlucky? I feel pretty lucky. This is my resolve."
Personal Information Username: Silver-Blue Hybrid Name: Tsubasa "Raionhāto" Kakeru (翔る 翼 Kakeru Tsubasa) Age: 17 Gender: Male Date of Birth: December 25th Hobby: Practicing his magic, pulling pranks, making jokes, socializing with people.

A sphere of pure white fire around the size of his clenched fist forms over his head, as well as his Dragon's Breath gauntlets unfolding from the wristbands over his hands and wrists, lighting on fire of a slightly yellower color. The fires are extremely hot, but they do not hurt him nor do they affect his belongings. His eyes also turn a fire-like orange-red, with traces of white. Raionhāto also has various rings on his persona melded into his gauntlets which strengthen and partially fuel his power.

Having heard from lores and previous tales painstakingly collected to learn every scrap of information about them in his quest of sorts to find out more about them, his love for them is evident, willing to risk severe punishment if he was caught just to find out more about them and see drawings and representations of them before any hate existed. One might think this is completely ridiculous, but since Raionhāto was young, his grandparents had arrived, and he didn't really like it. However, his grandfather had asked what he thought about dragons. Naturally, being taught to hate them, he said as such. Sighing, his grandfather asked him whether he would like to hear the stories and legends of tales long past, and curious, Raionhāto agreed. Quickly, he became absolutely enamored with seeing them, idolizing them almost, realizing the truth of all that had happened since then, and realizing his hate of dragons was mostly unreasonable, as they had never done anything to him or his family in particular, and because both sides seemed equally at fault for the war, which caused tragedies to both sides. Soon, Raionhāto visited his grandfather's place filled with enthusiasm daily when he had free time. His grandfather had been in trouble a couple of times for filling Raionhāto's head with those tales by the police, as dragons were to be hated, but in secret, his grandfather had persisted in telling his grandson the stories until his death later of old age. This had came as a major blow to him, due to the loss of someone he had grew really close and fond of, but his love of dragons remained, and burned even brighter since then. One of the reasons is that he does not have many friends, as his appearing-to-be difficult attitude and seeming foolishness from various reasons, the biggest one his drive to persist in an obviously unmatched fight, but others such as his impatience at times or seemingly over-enthusiastic behavior about things people might view as weird, mundane, or bad. However, the few in the crowd that dealt with it and reached over to Raionhāto's big heart inside were his true friends that would support each other in any kind of scenario. They fight now and then, but it is more of a friendly fight of sorts rather than an actual fight. Some things that females probably would be annoyed about is that Raionhāto is a voyeur of sorts, and he does not mind messing around with a girl's feelings in various non-harmful ways including, but not limited to: dirty jokes, "messy" pranks such as a bucket on top of a door, switching their belongings for facsimiles that had an additional function such as certain chemicals one could find anywhere being daubed onto paper, which would cause it to catch fire if too much pressure was on it, such as when a girl pressed down to write on it.

Raionhāto is a pretty happy person, and one wouldn't be able to say otherwise just from being with him. However, if one dug into his past, they would've realized his father had died from an [acronym="A purported one by the officials."]accident[/acronym]. The family wasn't rich, but they were not poor either. His father was a merchant, and dealed in various goods such as wool, furs, cloth, food, raw materials, and many others. He had enough money to afford a cart, and this was his means of travel and business with the towns around the area. However, on Raionhāto's 16th birthday, fate struck the life from the man. He had managed to bring in some rare spices, some food, and some good pieces of clothing from his travels. Riding home to bring it to his son as a birthday gift, there had been some complications that only the officials knew of. They claimed it to be an accident, when the galloping horses had tripped, rocking the cart roughly and resulting in various injuries to the skull and a broken neck, causing death soon afterwards. Without anything else to go off of, Raionhāto and his mother believed it, and mourned his death. They had no reason to suspect otherwise, as the injuries described matched the one on the body. As the churchman read his will, the remaining two of the family realized Raionhāto's father had made a surprising amount of jewells during his lifetime. A good deal of it was granted to Raionhāto himself, with a simple note - "Follow your dreams and never regret them." The rest of the items and valuables were left to the mother. Now, although they spend a little time every day to honor the memory of Raionhāto's father, the mother had mostly recovered since then. Her son though was still greatly depressed. Going about small jobs trying to be productive rather than for the money, which the will had left a large amount behind, Raionhāto managed to excite himself somewhat. On a rather dull and empty day though, Raionhāto contemplated what faction he was going to join, but quickly decided, as it wasn't a tough choice. He was going to apply for the Archer Squadron when he grew up, as he didn't really like the idea of dragons which were in the Wyvern Corps, but he didn't hate dragons as most did, having had no direct reason to, but knowing of others' suffering. He knew he wasn't built for the Ground Troops, and the Magic Brigade was too expensive, using almost all of the money he had from his father up. However, his father's side grandparents had arrived to see Raionhāto and his mother again on one day, which they hadn't done in a while. Not really liking it, as he considered they were a bit too old to really be able to relate to anything about him, he stayed by himself in a room. His grandfather had wanted to see him though, and had found him. Sitting down with him, his grandfather asked him what he had thought of dragons. Intrigued about where this was leading to, he sat up to reply that he didn't really love them, but he didn't hate them either. Now, sort of like what a philosopher might do, his grandfather asked why, which made Raionhāto realize he had never really thought about it. Thinking carefully, he said that dragons had caused mankind lots of suffering, but he knew that mankind had battled with force as well, as well as the fact he didn't really know anyone personally who had suffered from the Extinction War, which was ancient by his standards. His grandfather's eyes lighted up, and he asked of Raionhāto whether he would like to hear the stories of long past, before the wars, about the dragons, and how everything had fell apart. The fire of curiosity kindling in him, he turned to listen as his grandfather took him back through time, guiding him along the spindle of history without bias. Learning of what the dragons really were, what they could do, and how they looked sparked an unquenchable interest in him, as he realized with time that neither side was at fault, inevitable things creating tension which would've exploded out one way or another. Becoming further and further enamored, he begged of his grandfather to tell him more tales of the shining dragons of legend, and so he received. Enraptured with all of this, he grew to love his grandfather dearly, as this was a cure for his depression, and since that visit, he went to his place every day when he had free time after everything else, sometimes even leaving his friends wondering where he had gone off to this time. Wanting to know every last tale, he listened with absolute focus, burning every word and motion of the storytelling into his mind. On more than one occasion though, this sometimes occurred in soldiers overhearing, and warning him to stop speaking lies about dragons, lest he enrapture his grandson with those fictitious tales. For Raionhāto though and unbeknownst by the guards, it was already too late - not that either him or his grandfather viewed it as a bad thing. As time passed though, his grandfather started to feel the strain of old age, and the various problems that accompanied it. Not wanting to disappoint his grand son, he entrusted him with several dusty old tomes that had the history of Gaia before any hatred had existed. These were expressly forbidden by the government, and being caught with them would mean the lores would be burnt, and the person would be punished and publicly shamed. As his ailing grandfather read him the tales with that wonderful voice one imagines a story telling grandfather had, Raionhāto's dream was to see, speak, and be the dragons of old. Realizing his new dream, he contemplated joining the Wyvern Corps, and was at first absorbed with that idea. However, he thought about it, and was about to consider applying for that, when he remembered that dragons could achieve powerful magic. Growing on that idea, he carefully observed all his options, and realized he wanted to become part of the Magic Brigade, being able to be like a dragon with their fiery breath and reign over the air, rather than riding on one. Also, he heard of dragon kind's proud nature to be such, and didn't want to offend his idea of them by riding on wyverns, which were close relatives. Counting his jewells, he realized he had almost enough to go to a prestigious academy, and when his grandfather learned of it, he supplied the remaining needed number of jewells, knowing of his grandson's dreams. Three weeks before the recruitment would come around though, his ailments caught up to him, striking down Raionhāto's grandfather with a stroke. Completely devastated this time around, having truly connected with his grandfather in that period of time, he was in a near catatonic state. His mother had tried everything, as had his friends. When it seemed he might never come out, and die as a wreck, Raionhāto slowly started to come back out of his shell. All his friends and his family supported him for around a week before he was mostly back to his original state, starting to socialize with his friends and be himself again. Now, knowing what his burning desire is more than ever, he is going to apply for the Magic Academy.

Combat Information Primary Division: Magic Brigade Secondary Division: None

Dragon's BreathDragon's Breath" is Raionhāto's gauntlets that he wears to fight with. bury the year
I must say that the majority of the posts in this OOC has been on-topic but I won't ignore the posts that are pointless chatter either. My apologies, Rinne. I'll be sure to keep unessential chatter to a zero from now on.Idle discussion while waiting is fine, but it should constitute a slim percent of the thread at best. The White Wolf
Just gonna move my updated app up here. Could I get a review from someone, please? I don't wanna ask for Kyng twice.
"Don’t cross me, I could shake your hand and stab you in the back at the same time." Personal Information Username: Blood-red Name: Kraz “The Shadow” Ryūchikara Age: 18 Gender: Male Date of Birth: March 28th Hobbies: Strategy games (favorite is chess,) card games (mostly poker,) and reading.
Kraz is a tall young man, standing at about 6'2". He has shaggy dark brown hair with bangs that fall just below his eyes and the rest even longer, falling to a little bit above his chin. He also has dark brown eyes and pale skin, he has his mark located on the palm of his left hand. Casual Wear Kraz normally wears a hooded black cloak with a blood red border, it has skin-tight sleeves and is longer in the back than the front. He keeps his cloak open like a jacket with the collar up. The front of the cloak falling just below his waist and the back just below his knees. The cloak bears his family's Code of Arms on the left breast: A dragon with its head resting on the hilt of a sword, the blade facing downward. The crest is entirely colored silver. Underneath the cloak he wears complete black mesh armor, with longer bottoms than average. The armor also bears his family's Code of Arms. He commonly wears white gloves. On Duty When on duty in the Wallguard, while unnecessary, Kraz dons a black version of the Archer Squadron's uniform, his casual white gloves replacing the standard archer's. On occasion he wears his casual wear while on duty.

Most people would describe Kraz as a dark, ambitious, proud, solid, almost emotionless character. An intelligent, but slightly arrogant young man, he is determined to surpass the man his father once was. He isn't one to lose his cool, he always tries to stay one step ahead of his opponents mid-battle, concocting strategies quickly. Though he has a few set-offs, such as people insulting his father or his mother. His ultimate set-off being his deep, burning, destructive hatred for all of Goblin-kind. Despite the dark character he is, he is loyal to his faction much like his father was. If an ally needed to be cut down for the sake of Atland, he would do it without blinking. This includes the Wallguard, if it turned out it wasn't in the city's best interest. Similarly, he would cut anyone down for his own ambitions. He isn’t without a soft spot, though. He keeps a photo of his parents in a hidden pocket on the inside of his cloak that he gets caught gazing at every now and then. Though this seems to be his only soft spot, as no one has gotten close to him since the death of his father. He had pushed away all his friends by that point.

Born to a mother who died giving birth to him and a loyal, high-ranking military father, Kraz’s dream was to join the Wallguard. Looking up to his father, who had tought him basic hand-to-hand combat skills, Kraz was a happy, energetic, intelligent boy as a child. A loyal and protective friend to many, Kraz refused to give in, and many would say these days he's the polar opposite of his childhood self. He was seen getting in the way and taking hits for friends. His life changed the day his father died, though. He gripped his dream even tighter, but he changed into a darker, calmer, and merciless character. His father had died when a group of Goblins had wandered too close to the wall, and he was sent alone to dispatch them. The final survivor of these Goblins had killed him. His Wyvern had brought his body back to the city, and a funeral was held. Everyone had gazed at Kraz with pity and sorrow, and he hated it. He hated how everyone gave him the same look, how everyone asked, "Are you alright?" No! How could a boy who lost both his parents be alright?! Eventually, the wound began to heal. Kraz started to think again, and eventually became suspicious of his father's death, so he devoted himself to finding out more information about it. He eventually hit a dead end when he was told that only members of the Wallguard had even the slightest authorization to investigate their companions deaths, family or not. This hardened Kraz's resolve to join. His father had already set aside a fund to send Kraz to a top academy. Entering the academy at the age of 12, Kraz decided to go into his own style of fighting. He learned the basics of magic and the basics of poisons and antidotes. He studied on his own, learning spells that best suited his style. He sparred time and again with his fellow students, starting off by constantly losing but steadily winning more and losing less until he perfected his own style of combat, eventually overwhelming his opponents with his near-killing intent, fueled by his hatred for Goblins and his love for his father. During his time at the academy, he exhibited rare symptoms that occur when one has the ability to use magic, and feels extreme emotion. A rare magical reaction that turns emotions into magic. Today, he intends on finally fulfilling his goal: To join the Wallguard, and find more information about his father's death.
Combat Information Primary Division: Ground Troops Secondary Division: Magic Brigade
I – Six 13” black-bladed daggers. Each are made of a high-quality steel that was covered magically with shadows, increasing their durability. Two sheathed on the back of his waist, two sheathed on his legs, and two sheathed on his back. While wearing his cloak, all of the daggers are hidden except for the ones on the back of his waist. While he's in his on-duty outfit, they're all visible. Each dagger has his mark on it. The marks are hidden since the entire weapon is black. II – Poison darts. (To be thrown,) he carries two types of poisons: Sleeper Poison - Originally designed by doctors for helping sleep-deprived patients. Enhanced and modified by Kraz, when injected intp the bloodstream the poison renders the target unconscious. Lethal Poison - When injected into the bloodstream this poison kills the target. Simple yet effective poison. Takes approximately five hours to kill, and easy to come up with an antidote. Each vial containing the poison has his mark on it.

I – Superb hand-to-hand combatant. II – Skilled in the use of and throwing blades. III – Trained in the aspects of stealth, agility, and free-running. IV – His own style of combat, making him more unpredictable. Based on fast, heavy-hitting moves from different directions with the use of his teleportation ability or sheer speed. V – Trained himself to be ambidextrous. VI – Capable of brewing his own poisons and antidotes.

Magical Mark – The marking for his teleportation technique and long-distance Shadow Manifestation. The mark is three black tomoe surrounding a black circle. Anything that he touches with his left palm can be marked. He can only place one mark on a surface at a time, if he were to put a second mark on a surface that already has a mark, the first one would be erased. Teleportation – Allows him to teleport anything he has marked to anything else that has been marked. He himself can teleport anywhere within ten feet, or to any mark. When he teleports he seems to disappear and reappear in a poof of black mist. Invisibility – Perfect invisibility, but he is not intangible. Lasts for about thirty minutes at a time and requires absolute stillness and concentration for one minute to activate. Can’t be used again for about an hour. Can be activated and deactivated at any time during the thirty minute period, however. Shadow Sight – Connecting his optic nerve to it, Kraz extends his shadow, using it as a third eye. can be extended further by connecting with other shadows. Ten meter stretch max. He must keep one eye closed while using this. Shadow Eye – After connecting Shadow Sight with another shadow, Kraz can detach part of his shadow and reattach it to the other shadow, almost as if it's a security camera. He has to keep an eye shut while using this, too. He can't continue using Shadow Sight while this is active. Shadow Manifestation – Allows him to completely or partially physically manifest his shadow, as if it were an extension of his own body. Can be manipulated into many shapes and forms, and extended further by connecting with other shadows. Can even launch physical shadows as projectiles. Shadow Clone – After using Shadow Manifestation, Kraz's shadow can detach from him and fight separately. It only has Kraz's teleportation ability and can extend any part of its body, also has all of Kraz's physical abilities, it acts according to Kraz's will. He can create an additional clone if he connected his Shadow Manifestation to another shadow. Shadow Suit – Kraz covers his body with his shadow, making him invisible when walking in the dark or the shadows. Perfect for when he doesn't have enough time to cast invisibility. Also adds protection equivalent to that of a stronger light armor. He can separate the suit from his body to make a Shadow Clone. Long-Distance Shadow Manifestation – If his mark is located on a shadow, Kraz can manipulate it similar to his standard Shadow Manifestation, though much more difficult to control. Rage – A rare magical condition, it's a reaction that occurs when Kraz is in an intense fit of rage. He can't control this one, since it only happens when his magical capabilities react with his rage, it couldn't be unlocked until he learned how to use magic. It makes his killing intent and rage extremely palpable, to the point people can be given hallucinations of their death by Kraz's hand, if they don't have a strong enough will they can be paralyzed. This can easily terrify people. This mostly happens when Kraz sights a Goblin or someone actually manages to make him crack. It ends when Kraz calms down, is incapacitated, or his magical abilities are temporarily stopped. It can be contained by magic. Though usually invisible, if his rage goes beyond average it can materialize as a dark and violent aura around Kraz, which would cause a wind-like effect. (Special) Physical Shadow Feint – Coming in with a direct blow from the front, Kraz suddenly teleports to the enemy's backside and hits them in their blind spot. Surprise – Mainly used against enemies that know his ten-feet reach limit of his teleportation ability, Kraz stays outside the teleportation limit (11+ feet) and throws one of his daggers at the enemy, purposely missing to teleport to them using the mark on the dagger and deliver a surprise blow. Shadow Combo – A finishing move, after using his Shadow Clone, Kraz and the clone(s) deliver multiple blows from multiple directions while using the teleportation technique. Shadow Stab – A finishing move, basically a Shadow Combo with no clones and repeatedly stabbing the opponent, using his teleportation technique to use his daggers multiple times. He normally aims for thirty stabs. Occasionally ends it with a decapitation.
Other Information Kraz wishes to fight with the top-dog of the Wallguard. He is fond of redheaded or brunette women. His favorite food is any meat. His parents owned a general store. His father was a member of the Wyvern Corps. His mother was well known around Atland, but he isn't. His last name, Ryūchikara, is a combination of the words dragon (竜 - Ryū) and power (力 - Chikara) His general theme song is Drown by Three Days Grace, but while Rage is active it's The Animal by Disturbed.
Also posting my app a second time because I get paranoid, once an app I wrote was completely erased from a post and I had to rewrite it, so better safe than sorry. Well I'll review for you, and I'd appreciate it if you did mine Everything up to personality seems fine, but you say he has unyielding loyalty to his faction (I assume the Wallguard), but says that he will kill anyone who gets in his, which seems somewhat contradictory. Also you make it seem like he's suspicious of the Wallgauard and his father's death, so it seems kind of odd that he'd be extremely loyal to them. He seems like you generic anti-hero with a cynicism catalyst, though, I don't believe, many people actually have that sort of character so it helps him stand out somewhat and it helps the app is solid as well. His teleporation still seems a bit overpowered in my opinion, but I don't really have any suggestions on how to balance it. All of the other powers/techniques seem fine. Admiral_Stalfos19
Hmm... actually, I could use another review after all, since I'd like a second opinion before I do anything. ... Preferably from Kyn-*shot*

Hmm, well I'll fix that right up. I know how I will. Yeah I noticed that, hopefully it'll up my chances. I've already brought it down a bit... it shouldn't be too much of a problem, since the main thing is the mark. I'll review yours (or try to) when I fix it up.
