I don't know. I find TCG to be just a tad bit worse the Showcase when I started. You got/get lashed at for being bad, in an attempt to make you try to get better. (Though I haven't frequented TCG for a while and don't know the specifics of Zazu's case). Did I ever have the idea to create another account? No. Did it make me want to get better to feel accepted? Sure.

Did TCG have something to do with it? Probably. Is it their responsibility for nurturing somebody? Questionable.

Even during the worst of TCG I don't think this ever happened. (for reference I'm talking about the neg wars against new members) idk, I just think that an individual's choices should not be fully blamed on others.

Did he deserve the ban? Arguably.

Wrong. You break the rules you get the ban. The internet has no plea insanity.

I can certainly respect the commitment that zazu had towards that other persona. And now I'v got a much better idea of just how he thinks of me based on how he acted towards me yesterday while being .codex. Which would be of basically "I dont care about you". Which I'v got no problem with. You wanna hate me? Hate me. You wanna love me? Love me. It doesn't matter to me.

 

As for the ban, it was necessary.

Anyways, I'm sad to say I never really got to know him, but it does baffle me why someone would make an alt just to get all mean at people.

I am at an inpass in this situation. I genuinely liked Zazu. He was surprisingly helpful to me on a variety of occasions. On the other hand, I hated .codex from the start. From the first time I saw a post by him I thought "This guy is a pedantic d-bag". Finding out they were the same person... Kinda shattering.

But the whole ".codex is zazu's alt" thing got me thinking... could Zazu have made the alt to distract the populace and clear his name as "annoyingly flame-buoyant"? That's some illusionist sh*t right there.

It is sad for me to learn of this. Not because of Zazu in particularly, but because this is another prove of this site.... "daying" I guess. As I see it, people here are either content (whom I hope that they already understand what I'm about to say) with the site, or discontent and are trying to make it more "live". Members that are discontent would end up going bananas or just leave.

 

Making the site "live" is viewed in a... inexperienced way (which leads to what I said above). What I mean is that people think that the site and/or the members are the problem, while it is themselves. They do not understand that the site is just a tool and that the member are just other users' of said tool. We are doing the same thing, It does not matter in what way we do it, if it results in something or not, or if its results are bad or good. We are doing it, therefore it is alive. If this is the atmosphere around here numbers would not matter and will grow (hopefully).

Lastly, when it comes to people you do not "change", you "teach". I'm not a "leader" and nor will I ever be, so I don't "teach", but I try to keep members here as long as possible, and hope that they might understand in a way or another.

 

.....Perhaps this only applys to the YGO related stuff, after all I know almost nothing about other stuff on this site and not that good at YGOto begin with...

 

Anyways, this is my view of things and is not directed at anybody/thing, I just though this was a good chance to say this.

I'm gonna go ahead and disagree.  Generally, when people say, "he was being an idiot so he deserved punishment," it's a thinly veiled attempt to stroke one's internet dick.  The rule banning alts is justified, but I'm not sure I like the cold attitude and totalitarian approach to governing. 

 

But let me just clear this up, was he banned because he was being disruptive, or banned based solely because he had been using two accounts?  And had he been using both accounts or did he just make the one to troll?

I think he was banned because he was disruptive which met punishment, but because he used multiple accounts to worm around the punishment this lead to him being banned.

That's fairly reasonable, I was just worried that the reason was only that he made a second account as a joke or something. 

 

On another note I almost feel like we should have a year~ long exile instead of a permaban.  This is the internet, a year is practically a life sentence anyway.  I know most people probably disagree but whatever...

I don't encourage banning at all except in very rare cases like SD Dueler. That being said, I still think the way evilfusion clarified everything was classy given how YCM's had some awful mods like Hunter who would shamelessly go about mass-purging active members who they or their friends didn't like without feeling any obligation to explain why.

He actually just said he did it for fun, did things to keep the illusion up and make it seem real (like him replying to his own questions) and that when he did the whole "Truth" thing, he thought he'd be warned to stop prior to the quick trigger ban. However, he also said that he didn't mind and he is just settling in on the Dueling Network Forums.

So...this is thread having to address the idiocy of this one user, was mandatory, thus increasing his awareness and somehow your ego?

 

Pretty much I didn't know much about Zazubat, but I had my suspicions and pretty much people are battering a dead horse soon after his ban. He seemed like a nice guy though, but for one to be dragged to this level because of criticism, is ridiculous.
