Beware the Batman

The legendary Dark Knight returns in all new adventures.

As anyone can plainly see, this series is 3-d animated like Green Lantern.

Bruce Wayne has a new look, though any similarities between him and Hal Jordan are purely coincidental.

Alfred has a buff new look to him. Like Lex Luthor only Alfred.

Bruce has a new bodyguard: Tatsu Yamashiro, later revealed to be Katana.

Lieutenant Gordon is not friends with Batman.

And so far three villains have been introduced:

The vigilante duo of Mr. Toad, probably a person who was genetically altered with toad DNA, and Professor Pyg, human with a pig mask.

Magpie: a former criminal with multiple personalities that feels no pain.

Anarchy: A vigilante who wants nothing more than to cause chaos.

But with all these new bad guys, will we still see some familiar foes like Penguin, Two-Face, Poison Ivy and the Clown Prince of Crime himself, the Joker?

Only time will tell.

At least they're doing new things with the mythos.

The first episode was okay for a first episode. It was a strong start for what felt like a filler episode.

It's best to have more of the lesser known villains in Batman's rogues gallery than the usual Joker/Two-Face/Penguin characters. There are so many villains that can be used.

Though, a part of me kind of wished they used the art style of Young Justice/ JL: Doom over CG because what's-his-face's character design for Batman was awesome.

Indeed. but they brought back a lesser known character for episode 1: Simon Stagg. Remember him from wayyyyyyyy back in Justice League with the origin story of Metamorpho?

Plus, I found it amazing, if not coincidental, that a simple ink blot could give us a glimpse of Bruce's past.

Plus they still have funny moments.

Though Magpie's design would not be approved by the PTA.

Also, though paint can be washable, for Acid tagging you'd need a lot of concrete to cover that up.

bump:

more characters added. Among them are:

The League of Assassins.

Silver Monkey: expert assassin from the same group as Katana.

Tobias Whale: Doesn't this guy remind you of Po from Bleach when he transforms?

Humphrey Dumpler: A.k.a. Humpty Dumpty. Big man with an egg shape appearance. Seriously. Broken but not pure evil.

And if you're familiar with the early episodes of Justice League, you'd remember Rex Mason now known as Metamorpho (again) and Sapphire Stagg, daughter of Simon Stagg from episode 1 of this series.

I have to say, Metamorpho's new look far surpasses his predecessors from Justice League and Batman the Brave and the Bold.
