Star Eater

Remember his name?  Did you like "Starform Dragon" or "Celestial Dragon"?  Well Konami said **** no to that, because now this guy is called:

Star Eater

[Level 11/LIGHT/Dragon/Synchro/Effect/ATK 3200/DEF 2800]

1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters

Must be Synchro Summoned, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card's Synchro Summon cannot be negated. When Special Summoned, cards and effects cannot be activated. If this card attacks, it is unaffected by other card effects until the end of the Damage Step.

This guy has already been discussed at length.  He can be a useful resource to access in decks like Dragon Rulers, thanks to Debris Dragon, and Karakuris, since they can spam Level 8 beatsticks that can pull Level 3 Tuners out of nowhere when they appear.  He's neat in that you can't say no to his coming, and he says no to any effect that tries to hurt him when he attacks, but at any other time, including your opponent's turn, when your other monsters attack, your Main Phase 2, End Phase and the brief period in your Main Phase 1 between the time you Summon him and the time he declares bloody war on your opponent's troops, he's fair game to absolutely everything effect-wise. It also doesn't help that he's a Nomi, so if you lose him, you can't get him back by Special Summon.

I like that we got a generic Level 11 Synchro, and a playable Level 11 monster in general, and this guy is best suited to be a finisher in any case.

Discuss this star-sized dragon and his brand new weird-*** name.

I liked Starform the best.

If it was Star Eater/Eating Dragon it'd be okay, but Star Eater is dumb.

Anyways, one of my favorite Synchros. Incredibly easy to get out and great at finishing games. He's even good for sitting on if you can't make any other plays.

But the name change :c

Is it eating a star? Is it EATING the fuckin STAR? No. No it isn't. What the fuck Konami.

That fire ball (which is a star, cause you know, stars are actually like our Sun, a giant fire ball) in the image. Look at the dragon. Doesn't it look like it's eating it to you? Then you must be blind.

Actually, the dragon and the star are one body. "Star Eater" simply means its capable and big enough to consume stars. If you were to actually look at the art, you can see its chest, neck, and head emerging from the front of the star, with its wings at either side, and other parts of its body emerging from different spots on the star.

It's clearly consuming the star, the head is behind the star. At least, my view on it is like that. In reality, it doesn't freaking matter anyway, it's just a name and image.

No it's not.

The original name was Starform Dragon for a reason.

The dragon is being born in the way a star would. That's why it's design and color are meant to look red-hot and magma-flowy and fire. Even the points of the wings mix in with the floating rocks formed from the cooled material.

and flavor matters. Not as much as gameplay, but I wouldn't be playing something along the lines of [Attribute 5, Type 16, Level 11, ATK 3200, DEF 2800, no image].

Just saying.

"Original name". What is that suppose to mean? Isn't this it's actual name?

Its OCG name is Starform, thus, the original. Star Eater is what it will be called in the TCG.

The dragon and the star are one body, and the dragon portion eats other stars most likely to build up its mass/power.

Well, I guess that mean it isn't what I thought. I still think it looks like that though.
