Dr. Percival Cox
Even though I play three other instruments I've mainly play guitar as of recent months. So, any other guitarists in the land of YCM? Favorite style to play? Favorite guitarist? Meaning of life? Haha, have at thee.
Enrise
Hail. I actually tried to develop my own playing style (unless you're talking about genre, in which case, Extreme metal; I like to be a bit broad), while still trying to form my own tone as well. It can get pretty annoying to do when you're tone options are limited on a small Peavey Vypyr 15. That's why I'm saving up for a Tube Amp. More tonal possibilities. But Peavey Vypyr 15 is a good starting combo for beginners, $100 at most. My favorite guitarist? Trick question. I have no favorite guitarist. Not-so-Radiant Arin
I can write and tab guitar rhythms. Fairly well, actually. Can't actually play them.

And damn, that must take some chops haha. The best I cant give my style is alternative mixed with a bit of funk rock. And yeah, getting a tone is a bitch with those limits, I'm getting some progress with an RP500 and a rouge stereo chorus for some... well interesting ideas with some modeling haha, getting a tube amp for my birthday (psyched as hell). Why you no favorite guitarist? Haha, kidding. I can write and tab guitar rhythms. Fairly well, actually. Can't actually play them. Wow, that's actually pretty awesome. I can't tab for anything, haven't been training my ear to much recently :/
Not-so-Radiant Arin
If you know proper finger placement (cue the double entendre), it becomes easier and easier to tab/write for a guitar piece. The one thing that my program doesn't allow is reverse strums (going from the 6th string up), but reverse strums I don't think are hardly used that often, but it sounds beautiful if you can pull it off. Dr. Percival Cox
I have a very rough finger placement myself, broke a g-string fingering A minor ;D but back to seriousness, what program do you use?
Tentacruel
I play a bit of guitar, mostly metal, but I'm getting a bit tired of it and want to get back into playing, but this time more varied styles.

Finale. It's the most cost-effective program aside from other DAWs like Reaper or Logic, it has a good chunk of Garritan VST plugins, and also gets support from other VSTs like DSK. As soon as I have enough money to dish out, though, Reaper has been on my wish list for quite a while now.

Not-so-Radiant Arin
Of course, the program is free. However, getting a computer that can actually run a DAW without lagging is what I was referring to.

CinnamonStar
lol I suck at it and only play rarely xD But I can share what I've been trying my hand at WHEN I actually play.=P The Bard's Song from Blind Guardian is ok-ish and sounds nice, Yuki Kajiura songs, some K-Pop too. Folk songs as in medieval or Celtic songs from music books.

.Corgi
Been playing for about 5 years now, Used to play a lot of stoner metal, but now I'm in this huge math rock/post-hardcore/skramz-craze so I generally only play weird-ass emoviolece nowadays. and sometimes i make up weird funk riffs
Dr. Percival Cox
Sooo, school and life threw up all over my ability to post (like I did anyway haha). But yeah, bump? Zauls
I am a guitarist and have been playing for like 5 years now :) My favourite genre is Neoclassical Symphonic Power Metal but I'm also into a bit of Symphonic Black Metal as well. All of the stuff I play right now is stuff that I have written. Favourite guitarist is Stephan Forte :)
