The fanbase has been silly since day one. There wouldn't be a fanbase like it exists today otherwise.

And now that the season is over, I hope for a lot of fan content with a shonen feeling, like how half the fanfics between season 2 and 3 were about changelings or the royal wedding.

Oh man... I just realized what that song is, that Shining Armor is singing, in the first comic.... xD
But like, yea, the whole story of how Shining Armor and Cadence met is quite amusing. Mostly, because Shining is such a dork, but it's cute.

In the first panel of the second page, I see a book reading "Progress on Sunset Shimmer"

Yeah the comic has lots of panels with stuff in the background (or front-ground in this case I guess?)

It's a story from when Twilight was still a filly after all xP

Huh, so that's how Vinyl Scratch got her cutie mark.

*goes back and looks again*

Oh wow I completely missed that until you mentioned it Broken. And I suppose that means the red-haired mare underneath her is Vinyl's mother . . . . cool.

Please fill me in. I have NO idea what it is

On another note Arm, the cross-over gif in your sig is pure gold . . . .

Yes that .gif is amazing. Hence why I sigged it.
*ahem*
Typically, the song is the theme song of the Pedobear; Go figure:

Although the actual, full, song on the other hand...

...
Then again, it's not much different.

The one in the comic, however, is likely just used as a gag.

Ah! I should've noticed that song sooner. My brother won our "funniest AMV battle" with it:

Vinyl's cutie mark is literally the main reason I posted that image, though I forgot to point that out xP

As for the song Shining Armor was singing, I tried to imagine how cool it'd sound in actual music. I have to say it's my first time knowing of that song at all. My mouth just dropped. I'm laughing more than I should for a few reasons now....

Hey, haven't been here before, but I just have a quick question. I was a fan of the first 2 series, but I felt most of series 3 was a bit disappointing apart from a few great episodes, especially the ending. Would anyone here still recommend I watch season 4, or anything else? thanksbye

Since we don't exactly know what made you not like certain episodes, I can only say "give it a shot".

I personally still like the series as a whole, and decided on an episode-by-episode basis. I don't think that even taking into account the worst episodes to date, the overall show is bad enough to warrant episode skipping, so if you are still interested enough to be curious, what can go wrong?

Though I'm right now more interested in saving up for the comics. What I've seen of them is awesome up to now. I guess I'll have time to do that before Season 5. I want season 5 to dedicate some episodes to non-main characters, (by "main characters", it is including the princesses, the mane six, Spike, and the CMC). It's most likely not gonna happen, but it'd be awesome to see something like a day with Trixie (maybe going to Zecora for something) or someone dealing with the Flim Flams, without Twilight or any Apple pony involved.

I think that might have been the problem with series 3 for me. With only 13 episodes, not that many weren't focused on the mane six, except an oddly large number on the apple family. Also, the two part opener meant a weirdly rushed finale, and even with two parts underused the awesome looking king sombra. I guess I've just fallen behind and will happily catch up, I just was a bit biiter about the ending (let's just say, twilight is not that close to being my favourite pony). Thanks for the help, Im sure ill be back here once I've caught up, and I might also look into the comics if they're on the internet.

Final quick question: what's the general view on Equestria Girls? good or bad?

And does discord sing in series 4?! I need to know!

I'm personally very annoyed at the fact that I have also noticed it's not quite the same kind of good as when the series first caught my attention even though it does have it's great moments, but at the same time I can't put my finger on what exactly is wrong. I've been thinking about it for a while, and for every aspect of a certain episode I disliked, there is another episode I disliked for the opposite reason, or that I liked because it had that. I'm just thrown in a loop.

As for Twilight, I like seeing her being awkward or getting annoyed. Though the show mostly doesn't show that side of her, sadly. They try to give her the air that she's more knowledgable about friendship lessons, but it doesn't always quote work. Two examples you'll see in season 4 are when she is smoothly reading about all episode long while the rest of the mane 6 scare each other at the abandoned castle at the Everfree forest (other than that and Pinkie, hilarious episode btw), and when she made a weird "lesson" in the episode "Maud Pie" (seriously I don't think they came to a good conclusion there). Little things like that. You'll see.

Honestly I still like the episodes, generally, on a basis and haven't found anything too harsh to warrant me leaving. However if there is ANYTHING that makes me stay in the fandom is, well, the other fans as well. I've read, seen, watched, listened, etc. to so many amazing things done by fans that I'm still shocked that Hasbro hasn't gone out and try to hire some of the fans for themselves; though granted they did try to get Nowaking to voice Vinyl officially, though under contract which prohibited her from doing fan work ever again.

So for me it's more the fan base which keeps me going.

Remember when it was the fans who made this kind of things instead of the official The Hub channel?

Okay . . . . I'll call BULL SH*T RIGHT NOW!!!

That is a God d*mn fan made trailer Hub decided to use! I don't care what kind of logic you throw at me! That is TOO fan-made looking to be anything but,

[spoiler=I'm honestly curious as to when plane-ponies became a thing]

The idea started soaring out of nowhere; It's cute, I'll give them that.
I mean, I'm all for new ideas that just seem to take off and become a thing.
The skies the limit with these, or at least, as far as I know.
I'm just hoping these don't run out of gas.

Just watched the season 4 opener and I already like it; they just get rid of the elements of harmony like that, just so they cant be convenient plot devices, and at the same time introduce a new on-going plot (six locks, six keys, six mane characters...)? Fair play, and more Discord banter as well. Great episodes, ill keep going.

So I just watched episode 20 today

Slowpoke.jpg

and I don't get why some people don't like the way the Flim Flam Brothers were portrayed. They seemed like that exact kind of duo the first time I saw them, even if they technically didn't do anything wrong besides trying to speed up production at the cost of quality. I feel like the carnival-style conman is extremely fitting.
