Maud is the coolest pony period.  Very likeable, and she is probably a master Earthbender.

Also, doesn't Pinkie Pie in the beginning of the episode look like she was cooking meth, or am I just over-analyzing something that isn't actually a reference to Breaking Bad?

Seeing as I just got done watching the episode . . . no. No it doesn't. Then again I'm horrible at catching references so I'm probably not the best person to give a definitive 'yes' or 'no'.

Now about the episode . . .

Maud is exactly how I said she'd be. She is the complete opposite of Pinkie Pie in that she doesn't show her emotions; I even said she was a "beatnik" and then we find out SHE WRITES POETRY!!!

So. F*cking. Called. It!

Though a few things about the episode stood out to me. First is that I'm happy that Gummy is still adorably trying to commit murder even after all these episodes; I literally paused it and said, "If Gummy isn't trying to eat her . . ." then I saw he was biting her tail. So happy (XD) Also, Maud is a rock scientist . . . so . . . she's a geologist? Which means she'd must have gone to some type of learning to become one. Maud is smart and/or a senior in Equestria's equivalent of college!?

Boulder is best pet now. No contest. He even ate the rest of Maud's daffodil sandwich!

I can't wait for all of the rock puns people are going to do with Maud in them now (XD) Great episode.

You know, it's safe to say a lot of us saw the poetry thing coming.

I mean, it makes sense given the fact that Pinkie is all songs n' junk, to which Maud is more poetic, so it makes for a nice contrast despite the fact those subjects are related in their own ways.

....

Or something like that.

Most songs are nothing more than poetry with a musical tune to be honest.

Only reason why I said that was that Pinkie Pie wore safety goggles, an Apron and a chef's hat.  The first thing a viewer saw was the sky blue rock candy.  Again, I'm probably over-analyzing it, but that was what I got out of seeing the piles of rock candy (Seriously, who needs safety goggles for making rock candy?).

So I had a cool MLP dream. Essentially, Princess Peach acquires a god complex and travels to Equestria (still in human form) with the intent of ruling it under an eternal night, and somehow makes Luna, who becomes Nightmare Moon again, join her side. I woke up just before the final showdown between them and the Mane 6 and Celestia, though.

Considering the meth they used in Breaking Bad was just blue rock candy, it just might be.

Don't listen to Jaraxxus . . . you're over-analyzing the episode.

Also, I ship Maud X Tom. Make it so internet!!!

Okay that is one weird ass dream; believe me I know about weird ass dreams. And not to poke holes in a dream but I doubt Nightmare Moon would join forces with anyone even if their goals were the same. She might take them on as a minion, but never as an equal.

And Jaraxxus' post made me wonder. Who has an OC?

Now that I watched the episode, I can say I'm happy seeing the Earth Pony magic used at it's best. And to think I believed that episode with Pinkie digging a hole super fast was just a gag.

I do have an OC. He's basically me as a pony, with some stuff removed to make him less multidimensional. I made him in a way he can appear in stories either as a good guy or an antagonist.

Name?

Personally I thought about having my OC as an anti-hero but I eventually opted out of it in favor of just having him a normal everyday character that lives within the actual world. Can he be a villain? Yeah but I'd prefer to avoid that for once.

Nighttime Lights should've been called Neon Lights; and German doesn't look well.

Btw, if you guys do read my fic then some feedback would be appreciated. I am still working on it, I just have a lot of issues in life right now that's kinda chewing my time like a fat bridesmaid left alone with the wedding cake.

His name is Noble Mills, derived somewhat from the meaning of my name. He uses the alias "Grinder" when he's supposed to be intimidating, like when he does bouncer work at a bar, or when he is sent to remind some pony they own money to his boss. His cutie mark is a mill stone, that comes from the industry his family works at back in Hisponya but more from his love of bread. His big size (think Big McIntosh with more fat, that the artist didn't include here), and his loose grasp of the equestrian language, make him have an image of dumb bruiser.

So he's basically a Spanish bouncer? LOL cool, I like it.

The second OC that I created, that I use as my own persona, is called "Key-Ring Valiant". His name was originally "Lilac Dragonsnap"; lilac is the flower of my birth month and dragonsnap is just a backwards anagram of the flower snapdragon. A unicorn born and raised in Canterlot, his family runs a local restaurant- his mother is an Earth Pony and his father is a Unicorn as well. He eventually went to Celestia's school for gifted ponies and eventually graduated and now works as a teacher at the same school. His coat is an ashy reddish color mainly due to his tenancies of being a night owl; because of this he also has constant black bags under his eyes. His cutie mark is a pair of keys around a single ring. He constantly wears a ring on a necklace that was given to him by his late Grandmother. His "special magic" is being able to connect two doors together within five miles. So he could open his front door but instead of opening to the outside the doorway would lead to the local grocery store. PS. Because he's a night owl his favorite Princess is Princess Luna, which he constantly swears, "By Luna's royal plot!!!" (XP)

The first OC that I have shares the same name. He is also a unicorn but is completely the opposite of the other OC as he is a bigot. In other words he views Earth Ponies as "dumb, stupid brutes" and Pegasus as barbaric. That viewpoint is only formed because he lived when the three tribes weren't united and kept fighting each other. Though he hates Earth Ponies and Pegasus he is still a brilliant magician, going so far as to even being the second (technically first) apprentice to Starswirl the Bearded. He is older than Clover the Clever, thus why he was the first apprentice, however, Clover was more popular and thus why she was sent with the Unicorn Princess on the summit meeting. Due to his pride being hurt he believed that Starswirl didn't trust him and eventually began to learn dark magic to "show Starswirl he wasn't second rate to any other unicorn". This eventually made my OC create the Alicorn Amulet to do this, the lock on the amulet being his own work. He almost beat Starswirl in single combat with the amulet, but due to his pride and being prodded by Starswirl he removed the Alicorn Amulet to defeat his former master with his own powers. This lead to his defeat, Starswirl breaking his horn and locking him away inside a mirror.

The first OC I created was to figure out why Starswirl had an apprentice but at the same time never learned the lesson of friendship. I figured you can't have an apprentice without him or her being a friend on some level. So something must have happened that broke his trust in others so totally that he never trusted anypony ever again. The OC also gives an explanation on how the Alicorn Amulet came to be and why it has the magical lock on it.

This popped up on KYM:

Also, according to IDW-canon, Fluttershy has some interesting heritage:

It's funny, though, since if you think about it, it actually does make sense.
Oh, and:

Yes, we get it, Starswirl actually makes an appearance. But lets comment on the fact that Fluttershy is related to f'king dinosaurs! =D
