And that's not even all of it.
And this was basically the highlight of the whole episode:

But seriously, though. We were discussing Equestria Girls/2, when today's episode has a cameo from, of all possible characters, Brad.
So it's safe to say the movie is now canon, given the fact he gave Twilight this look, just to reinforce that. I mean, we all basically had the idea the movie wasn't canon, but, you know, WILD FLASH APPEARED- The fanbase is going crazy over this, and I find it rather hilarious.
In all seriousness, though, and looking at it again, I'm not surprised they did this. I mean, if they ARE going to make that second movie, then might as well say Flash is canon, and get it over with.
So, YCM, whats your opinion on Flash/Equestria Girls being canon?

Okay so I misspelled that . . . cut me some slack (>3>)

I personally never could hate on the movie that much, though I admit it could've been done better, because it is what got me into the show.

I loved the movie as well.  I was skeptical because has there ever been a good high-school-related movie in the past (and Mean Girls doesn't count)?  Yet, like the show, it managed to change my mind by actually setting itself apart from other movies of the genre.

Also, many people spell 'canon' as 'cannon.'  A cannon gif is how I just break people's backs on the subject.

No, see... The issue with Equestira Girls and it being canon or not, wasn't so much the movie itself, but rather... It was the fact the movie was available in a rather limited amount and/or it was in select theaters only. So with that knowledge, you could always have NOT seen it, and would be still be up to date with the show regardless. You all remember, right? The movie was only shown in like, what, 1 out of every 402 locations? I mean, why else did the fanbase sneak camera into the theaters? They WANTED everyone else to see it, for those of us who wanted to, despite not being actually able to. The fact I could have seen it in theaters is irrelevant
THEN ALL OF THE CHANGED WHEN THE BRAD NATION ATTACKED
No, seriously, because Flash is now ACTUALLY canon, it means he might show up some more. So as a result, your now more obligated to see that movie, just for that.

So yes, people only said it wasn't canon because of it's limited showings, and really nothing else. I mean, it's a fair assumption, since, as I already mentioned, it had limited showings. So why consider it canon if only 5% of the planet could actually see it? But anyway, that was before. Now, it's different.

Anyways, my favorite reference was probably the Risky Business one. Also, I knew to look for something coming from Flash, so I definitely noticed his little look at Twilight. D'awww.

Discord is such a well loved character; but the episode wasn't using him to his full potential. He was done well in the S4 E1 because he was acting out his trope, which is that of a Jerkass Genie. In this episode, he's just, whiny and needy. (Though it begs the question as to how the malefic hell a supernatural entity like him even gets sick.)

For the plot. Hell! I don't know . . . I had come to the conclusion he had full control over his own existence until I saw that he had gotten sick. Even before he really got sick all I saw with the "blue flu" was him using it as an excuse to have Twilight give him attention. That was more or less what I saw in this episode, Discord trying to get attention from anyone around; and mildly screw with Twilight while he was at it.

I'm more disappointed Princess Cadence didn't get more lines.

See, that was the problem: Discord was being an attention seeker. He was being whiny and needy like a 3 year old; which isn't really befitting the nature of a trickster who can literally bend reality to his will. It's just really unfortunate to see Discord, literally their best villain, suffer such villainous decay

I don't mind Discord seeking attention or even going, in his own way, to try and make more friends with the mane six. I liked his interactions with the others and seeing how their personalities bounced off of him.

I'll agree with Digibrony though and say that the entire episode would have been a lot better if it had just been focused on the other five trying to occupy him so that he can't ruin Twilight and Princess Cadence's day together.

It's true that Discord was acting childish and needy, but that's pretty acting as to who he is really; a prankster and troll who even "reformed" still likes to mess around with Twilight and the other Mane 6. If he was actually being whiny and needy I would have imagined the episode to be more annoying in my view more than in Twilight's eyes.

No... if he was being whinny and needy, then he would've just been pestering every other pony for attention.  Instead, he gunned his attention after Twilight and Cadence just to troll them.  No matter what he said, he did what he did just for the lulz of just ruining Twilight's day.  When he found out that he didn't ruin their day, then he put on a visible frown.

Could be that this was just a casual day for Discord, so he felt like trying to screw with Twilight because she had plans for the day. I mean, he does have a slight thing for her. It wasn't so much of a plot-driven episode like when he was reformed, or when the evil plants took over Equestria.
....Or something like that.
