Mordetwi was just terrible.  No reasoning or hinting led up to it, yet it is a popular (and widely hated) crossover ship.  Mordecai doesn't have anything in common with Twilight Sparkle at all, and their personality traits don't match up whatsoever.  At least with shipping with on-show characters, there were inklings to full-scale connections of potential ships.

Though, the crossover ships I support are PinkiePool (DeadpoolxPinkie Pie) just for the reason that they both are insane 4th wall breakers, SonicDash (despite being hated.  SonicxRainbow Dash of course) because they have many things in common and would actually make a good pairing, and Keldity (KeldeoxRarity) because it isn't a stretch, I like how the fandom interprets the pairing and the fact that they just seem perfect for each other based on their designs (Can't use personality, since Keldeo's general personality is like that of a background pony.  If personality is used, then you can say he would probably have one befitting of a knight).

I think shipping of already established characters is stupid anyway. Mainly because almost NOBODY actually THINKS about the characters they're shipping. They think about ONE personality trait, and run with it, when characters a hell of a lot deeper than that. They also inflate minor character traits into the main thing about the character, or turn it into something completely different.

Background character X Background character is fair game, because their personality traits have never been established, but most of the pairings are just plain strange.

Shipping is an important part of fiction (we know I love reading it) because it is capable of fleshing out characters and progressing the story along nicely (at least in the good fics.  Badfics rush into a relationship immediately with no development).  That's my reason of enjoying shipping at the very least.

In my book, shipping is when fans imagine a relationship between two characters who aren't in one.

Writing a relationship with characters that were created by oneself, and not preexisting characters, is important for a story and fleshing out characters. Trying to pick two random characters from your favorite tv show and saying "They'd make a great couple," is not.

You know Issun, despite us being kind-of arch nemesisses on here, you and I agree on a lot of things.

Amazon listed the blueray as R before the movie came out, mistakenly.

To be fair, if there was a fan-made movie of the same premise...

SO ANYWAY, other than fanfiction, are there any other fan works that you guys follow? Personally, I really only pay attention to this series called Doctor Whooves and Assistant, which essentially states that Doctor Whooves is The Doctor, having been reincarnated into a pony, in an alternate universe this time (That universe being the same Equestria is in, not an alternate Equestria). The aforementioned assistant is Ditzy/Derpy, and they do her character very well. The series has no animation, though there have been people slowly animating the parts, so it's almost completely the voice acting and imagination, with a few pictures, though there's generally, like, one or two, maybe more for the really long episodes. Lots of humor, lots of drama. Really cool.
