Sora1499
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=2EC5kqUlFLc One of my favorite AFI songs. It really captures their old spirit, that immortal (heh) feeling of vim and vigor pulsing through your veins, that electrifying feeling of energy that you get from songs like these. While some of their newer songs don't have this same feeling (having instead traded it in for darker, deeper undertones), there are still a few (such as Rabbits Are Roadkill on Route 37) that personify it as well as this song does if not better. Although, I'm glad that the band has branched out, and the "deeper" and "darker" songs that I've mentioned are far from mediocre by any stretch of imagination (see Torch Song, Endlessly She Said, Silver and Cold, or either part of The Leaving Song). Discuss this song, and AFI in general if you'd like.
Instinct
I agree about the song. What do you think about the Offspring's cover? Also I never really got into AFI's older stuff (pre-Black Sails), since Sing the Sorrow was the first album I heard from them lol. Are you gonna check out they're new album that'll be out this fall? Instinct
Oh lol, I assumed you did because you mentioned their old spirit or something x) Sorrow's my favorite album since basically every single song is good lol December was alright, it's got some catchy stuff on it. Crash Love took me a couple listens before I really liked it as a whole. I feel like Davey Havok strained his voice too much screaming on December which is why crash love is basically all singing :\ lol I'm more into pop punk though, my favorite bands are Blink 182 and Jimmy Eat World

Your sins into me, oh my beautiful one now~ XD I felt like Love Like Winter and Summer Shudder (in December, that is) were a bit out of color for them... They didn't seem at all like something they'd make. They're a bit sappy compared to the rest of their stuff and appeal to the "youthful spirit of love", which isn't really one if their core values in their songs. But I can't talk shit about Decenber because it has both Miss Murder and Rabbits on Roadkill on Route 37, which are great fucking songs.
Instinct
Are you referring to their techno-ish sound? Lol, I felt it was a little akward at first. Their side-project Blaqk Audio is basically all synthpop Edit: Oh you meant the lyrical content lol, I see what you mean. And those are great songs

Suuuuuch a good song, omg. I didn't have much of a problem with the techno. After all, some of that is in Miss Murder, right? And the songs are fun to listen to, and they're not bad, they're just not incredible either.

Susie
I used to listen to AFI a lot, though I don't really care for them too much anymore, but I'll still listen to them when someone puts them on, I think my favorite album by them was either Decemberunderground or Sing the Sorrow. Now I've got Miss Murder stuck in my head, it was the first song I heard by them.
