Tormented
Okay so I mean I really enjoyed the last thread. Getting to know about other members was extremely interesting and almost always seemed to have something that I didn't actually know, however it was eventually locked. I suppose in theory it was down to the amount of members posting pointless spam but you know I'm hoping that we can reform and re-release this as regular thing. Now officially speaking this may or may not be updated every so often. This is of course down to the amount of interviews/questions and answers/topics that actually come through. That being said I'll do my best to keep this thing alive and hopefully get a nice bunch of interviews done so you can learn more about the members you talk to on a daily basis. So where do you begin? Well we should focus on more importantly what you can expect from these interviews and more specifically how much content will be involved and I'm going to start off by saying that they will be fairly long in length, more importantly they should have more than enough information to keep your greasy mitts from getting all too excited. You are by now probably wondering what kind of members will be being interviewed? And to put it simply, whoever the hell you like! A poll will be created whenever I am ready to do a new interview and this will of course mean that more often than not an update will come out a couple of times a week or maybe a few more. So let's begin with some more information and stuff!
So go on, introduce yourself my friend. Question 1: So when did you officially start on this site and why?Question 2: Have you since changed what you do on the site?Question 3: What is it you enjoy the most about the site in general?Question 4: If you had your way what would you change about the site?Question 5: Enough talking about the site, because that is so enjoyable I know. What is your life like outside of YCM?Question 6: Do you have any future plans? If so what kind?Question 7: Any upcoming projects people might be excited about?Question 8: Anyone you might want to give a special shout out to? Question 9: So, I'm going to end up asking this to everyone but.... Who is the most awesome member? Please don't all flock to say me.

The overall interview is subject to change depending on who the interviewee is. For example if a designer came along more questions would be ask about their designing, etc etc.

KoKo

Each poll will be randomized by thought, creating a system in which I use numbering for each active member would be annoyingly harsh, so I'll just pick 5 new random users each new poll.
Night
Keep it informative and interesting, do not stray off topic and have a conversation about random bullshit that's annoying more than anything else. Try and differentiate the questions, skipping basic questions might also be a viable option. I honestly never did, nor will I ever care about what everyone and their brother googled in order to find this site. Really could not give a fuck. Ask hard-hitting questions that will pose as a challenge. Is it a moderator who's done something recently to upset the populous? How about a moderator who hasn't done shit in the past year? Ask each individual forthright about their flaws, not only their strengths and achievements. These are the questions you'll need to be willing to ask if you want this to be successful as I'm sure no one gives a shit about LZ's favorite color. It's obviously blue, but that's irrelevant. As for who you interview; Make damn well sure the person is someone who's actually done something to shape this site and will in turn inspire and or captivate the readers. The absolute worst of the prior interviews were actually those accompanied with the "popular" members. They literally had nothing pertinent or vaguely interesting to say, it was literally walls of text containing completely irrelevant banter. Night I don't like it when you are mean to me :( OT: Yeah don't worry I'll keep it civil and informative, I wasn't looking at making it a nice place where people can chat. I was thinking more along the lines to allow the people who have contributed to be more thoroughly spoke to about what they have down for the site. The set layout of questions was only a base, for example depending on what the person has done I will go into detail about that and ask questions on such things. The concept of an "Interview" isn't to celebrate achievements is to go over problems in the past and how they have overcame it and vice versa. That being said I'll stay true to what you've set out. Also people who wish to add things to the question list and/or the thread itself are more than welcome to do so.
Not-so-Radiant Arin
Night has every right to be mean (not necessarily intimidating, but strict), because reading through the last thread literally made me pull my hair out. And don't pick popular members either, because we'll already know half of the answers to the questions. Basically, what Night has already said. Tormented
I was only joking with him Arin, and I'm pretty sure that I have already gone over the fact that members may have been popular but doesn't necessarily mean that they actually did anything for the community. Trust me when I say 90% of the interviews will be with people who have at least contributed to the site efficiently.
Night
When can we expect interviews and/or the voting poll to be up?
Tormented
When can we expect interviews and/or the voting poll to be up? After the interview has been complete with Koko, most likely during the weekend. As for the voting poll after I've completed the interview as I don't want to inundate myself with like 5 interviews to do.

This is probably part of the reason. Mods talking down to regular members as if they were lesser people. It comes off as appalling to a new member such as myself. I mean, what is the point of making a thread (that is well within forum rules) if a mod is then going to tell you what content you can and can't put in it. Not even suggest, more or less demand. Maybe I do care what LZ's favourite colour is!? Do you speak for the entire populous of the forum? No. The most you do is represent the forum and you do a poor job at that. If the concept of an interview thread was a success and ergo continiously done, and what you need is more active members; how about letting people put the threads up with no mod demands? Also, you think your swearing makes you sound big? It makes you sound small. Quite simply; you're a fascist pig.
Tormented
Because then it would turn into this the reason why the old thread turned into a shit storm, was because of it being filled with useless crap. He isn't being fascist he is doing his job as a moderator. And even if the forum is dying down a little bit no one said the old forum was amazing. Makes sense. He is being a fascist in my eyes, I explained why. Does his job as a moderator include steering away new members to a generally inactive forum? Tormented
No the point I was making is that Reddit is a shit hole filled with useless spam much like the old thread. If his job is to reduce the amount of spam then yes, also the forum isn't really inactive, it's just not as active as it used to be.
I mean, what is the point of making a thread (that is well within forum rules) if a mod is then going to tell you what content you can and can't put in it. Not even suggest, more or less demand.
I can't look at Night's post and not see anything that isn't breaking any rules of Modship. In fact, he's doing his best to avoid any repeat incidents that might occur from last time. He's not moderating what you can or can't put it in, because, really, we don't want to scroll through spammy posts that don't contribute anything to the current discussion at hand, but he's more or less moderating the "structure" of the topic. Though, really, this is probably one of those topics that should have required a Moderator to open up in the first place, given the history of the interview threads on here.
Also, you think your swearing makes you sound big? It makes you sound small.
Only a true idiot is concerned about swearing. They're just words; they hold no structural integrity or emotion. They are simply there to emphasize how much Night doesn't want this topic to turn into a hellhole.
Quite simply; you're a fascist pig.
I implore you to first do some research before you casually throw out names. Also, can I shake your hand? I'm going to be quite frank and say that you're completely oblivious to how things work around here and as such I can understand the asinine response, I don't blame you for it either. However, you don't know me, you don't know the member populous, you don't know the pertinence of my response and you probably don't even know what this thread is about. I moderate with confidence, it may come off as arrogant, authoritative, impetuous even. And while it may label me as egocentric or "fascist", I honestly couldn't care less and I never have. I moderate with what's best for the forum and the members in mind. If I have to be strict in order to carry out those ideals, I don't mind being disliked or even hated by a few members if it ensures the forum as a whole benefits. That's what it means to be a moderator, forgive those who deem you a fascist pig because in the end it only comes down to benefiting the forum.
