Real Time notifications/Tab text updates with new updates

Well I feel the first one is pretty self explanatory, it would mean less refreshing for everyone and arguably less stress on the server. The second one is much like twitter or facebook in the sense that whenever a new notification comes through it will appear with the (1) or (2) or however many updates have occurred ideally this would work with the real time system however it being implemented w/out is plausible.

I mean I understand if MyBb is that basic that it doesn't allow for such things but I feel it would be helpful.
