The scientists could not detect any extra power about him, but Himura Yoshirou appeared to be, in addition to being the famous Level 4 Aegis, some sort of low-level Far Vision user. He could not actually see into the future, but he could feel whether or not the day ahead was going to be a good day or not and this morning, when he woke up, he felt that today... was not going to be a good day for him. He just felt an absence of his average luck.

“Maybe you’re just nervous?” suggested Isamu. After all, today, Yoshirou was going to deliver a speech at the opening ceremony of Stravvgoll Institute as the specially appointed Student Council President, he would be standing in front of over 2000 people, and the press was going to be there as well. But Yoshirou merely rolled his eyes. He had spoken in front of more people before, he never got nervous showing himself to the world. “Ah, well don’t worry about it, then,” said Isamu in a reassuring tone as they went down to the dorm cafeteria to get breakfast. Yoshirou nodded, but he still felt that something wasn't going to be right today.

They did not walk through dark alleys to navigate the city, like they usually did. As members of Judgment, they were familiar with every nook and cranny of the city, but there were still an element of danger present. The city had a lot of Skill-Out gangs in Academy City, rumour had it that they had acquired machines called Capacity Down which disabled an esper's abilities and movement. If today was not going to be one of his lucky days, Yoshirou wasn’t going to push his luck. As much as he enjoyed beating the shit out of cocky Level 0s who dared attack him, he would not very much enjoy getting the shit beat out of by cocky Level 0s while being restrained by Capacity Down. It did not fit the image of the idol of Judgment to lose to anyone, no matter the odds stacked against him. He was a hero of justice and justice must always prevail.

“Is Judgment’s Aegis really that scared today?” teased Isamu with an amused smile as he tagged behind his friend, bursting his bubble.

“Che, shut it,” replied Yoshirou. Isamu was the only one who would dare tease him like that and the only one who's teasing he tolerated. As an honored and decorated member of Judgment, Yoshirou already demanded respect, his dominating but charismatic aura garnered him admiration, but anyone ignoring these values and willing to mess with him would have to mess with the large number of his faithful followers.

Yoshirou gazed upon the masses gathered before him at the opening ceremony of Stavvgoll Academy. There were about three thousand gathered in the massive stadium. Over 2000 were students from 4-year-olds to people as old as, if not one year older, than Yoshirou himself. To his right, at the edge of the stage, hovered Frederic Illustria, the principal, rumored to be a magician who was over 150 years old. The guy certainly didn’t look the part, with that perfectly smooth, youthful and incredibly handsome face, he should be in his teens or early twenties, however that look in the sorcerer’s eye told Yoshirou otherwise, they had an indescribable murky depth to them and resonated with the presence of an ancient evil, a power able to completely swallow him up completely. Yoshirou shuddered and quickly turned back to the crowd.

With a confident intake of breath, Yoshirou started on his opening speech. “Ladies and gentlemen, I welcome you all to Stravgoll Institute today to witness this marvellous scene of peace and unity, as for the first time in the history of mankind have so many espers and magicians walked in the light of day in harmony, for once, ending the conflict and bloodshed passed down from our ancestors. Today, science and magic come together to raise the future generations with hopes and dreams of peace and happiness...” He outstretched his arms in a grand gesture.

Isamu stood at the back of the room, somewhat obscured from Yoshirou’s view by people in front of him. Yoshirou wouldn’t pay attention to him anyway, he would be too engrossed in his own presentation. Yoshirou put his heart and soul in the delivery, which was what made him such a good speaker. He reveled in the attention, returning his audience’s admiration with his earnest display. Isamu smiled wistfully before walking out of the stadium. A teacher at the door reached out to stop him, but Isamu knocked his arm aside and imparting the slightest bit of an electrical shock, as much as a Level 1 like him could muster anyway. “Don’t stop me,” he said in a low, threatening tone. “You can’t anyway, so don’t bother.”

Oblivious to his best friends departure, Yoshirou continued on. “Let me tell you, students, that each one of you is unique, each one of you have potential, each one of you is special, so let not setbacks and discouragement stop you as it has not stopped us from finally creating this union of once clashing forces. We celebrate our differences and, at the same time, our harmonious existence. Let us put our animosity behind us and step into a world of learning and understanding. Let science and... magic... reign, today we congregate to create the beautiful future ahead of us.”

He stumbled very slightly on the word magic, a word so strange and alien to him, and it may have sounded distateful to others. Today was an unlucky day, so something was bound to go wrong and this worried him. Perhaps some things have gone wrong already. Glancing around, his eyebrow creased just a big as he couldn't locate Isamu's familiar face, however, he brushed any ponderings aside. It was probably impossible to find him in this crowd. Cameras flashed further hindering his search and he decided to give up the search to return his full attention to the situation at hand.

"Ahahahaha!"

It was not often that Yamashita Yumi wore her gyroboots to school; her old school used to be so much closer to her residence.  Now, there was a decent commute to school, which was the perfect excuse for her to glide to school every day.  To others, it would seem like Yumi was running, except for the fact that she was levitating about 2 inches off the ground.  Yumi herself was wearing a helmet; she was moving about as fast as a bycicle, which forced her to use the lanes on the sides of the road dedicated to them so she wouldn't knock anyone over.  She drew the stares of the crowds as she flew by; after all, there was nothing like the Antigrav Gyroboots available to the general pubilc at all.

As she neared the school grounds, Yumi had to begin using public walkways, as the bike paths disappeared.  Slowing down a bit, Yumi now moved at running speed, darting through the other students walking to school.  She even almost knocked over one, to Yumi's surprise.  "Sorry!" was all that she could call back to the near-victim, since she needed to be more careful and keep her eyes on what's in front of her.  Fortunately, Yumi reached the academy with no further incidents.

After changing out her boots for her uniform shoes, Yumi noticed another student getting frustrated because a vending machine wouldn't accept their money.  Smiling to herself, Yumi put her palm onto the machine, at which point the money was accepted, and the student got their morning treat.  Sometimes it was nice to be able to help out without being noticed.

Finally she was at the stadium.  She got a seat near the back; she wasn't particularly late, it was just that she was interested in seeing all the various people fill the room.  Magicians and Espers together!  The thought sent shivers down her spine.  She kinda knew about the existence of magic, since one of the things they told her while testing Peak Performance is that her power would not protect her from the negative effects of casting magic.  She was fine with that, but she hoped she could still be *around* magic, and get to experience all the stuff it can do.  In her excitement, she barely paid attention to the welcoming speech, instead preferring to attempt to guess out who in the crowd were magicians by appearance alone.

A certain white-haired individual, having only recently abandoned his more usual attire for the school uniform, could not help it as a sneer crossed his face.  Yellow, almost predatory, eyes locked upon the speaker who had spoken in such a distasteful way about magic.  He knew full well that those who had doubts about the power of such things were practically crawling out of the wood work here,  and this insult, intentional or otherwise, could not be allowed to stand unchallenged.  Thus it was that in the commotion of the applause following the speaker's speech he rose to his feet.

It was unlikely he'd be picked out of the crowd, despite the unique marks visible on his palms, because of the sheer number of students on their feet in uniforms identical to his own.  Even the long spikes of his white hair and the full head of height he had over most of his classmates would likely not make him particularly remarkable.  The only thing making this young man remarkable was his intent, and that was not something that could be sensed like an aura even though he allowed his indignation to be plainly visible in his facial expression.  Such would be a good idea when the aftermath of his actions was realized.  Carefully, calmly, he made his way down the row towards the aisle leading down to the exits.  Anyone who spoke out in an attempt to stop him was simply ignored, and he made his way right down until he reached the railing separating the stands from the field about which the stadium was centered.  Placing his left hand upon that railing, he swung himself over as if he intended to jump the ten meter distance to the ground (this aisle terminated over one of the tall entrances to the stadium floor).  While those who saw him do so expected him to hit the ground hard, this did not happen.

A semi-translucent sheet of what looked to be some esoteric form of blue-white energy appeared right beneath his feet.  This sheet was slanted at 45 degrees, which allowed him to slide harmlessly down it to the floor and resume the course of his journey.  As it happened, the aisle had been directly in front of the stage.  He found it fully worth the usage of one of his stored spells to make this entrance, and quickly saw to using another to get the attention of the one he intended to challenge.  A flick of his wrist sent his right hand flashing out over the air before him and also brought something else into being.  A seething conglomeration of multicolored energy lanced out across the field at nearly three times the speed of sound towards Yoshirou.  Despite the fact that this was an ability capable of doing damage similar to a military fragmentation grenade, he did not expect the Aegis to fall to its effects.

Even if Yoshirou chose to speak to him as he continued walking across the field, he would not answer until he was ready.  All he did for now was untie his necktie and unbutton his jacket and shirt.  These were soon removed from his body and dropped in a place on the ground where they would not be too badly dirtied.  Thus, the lad's darkly tanned skin marked with the solid black tattoos necessary for his particular school of magic was revealed.  The largest one, that upon his chest, appeared to be a combination of the Eight-Pointed Star and the Buddhist Dharmachakra.  There were eight smaller symbols appearing as lesser variations of the same idea tattooed upon his forearms, four on each.  Six of these sigils glowed with a light that any mage could tell at a glance came from mana stored within them in the form of a spell.  Only when he was thirty meters from the front of the stage did he stop.

"My name is William Johnathon Blackmoore," he began, turning those yellow eyes of his up towards Yoshirou.  "And I am here to challenge you, Aegis, to prove to you and all the other skeptics present that there is great power in magic.  Ready yourself, for in ten seconds if you have not answered my challenge I will force you to."

Sitting in the far back corner of the crowd, Chronix reclined in his chair, carefully studying the content within the books he had recently acquired from certain unknown sources. While everyone was in preparation for the speech from someone unknown to him, Chronix only gave a slight yawn as time progressed. He was an absurdly out of place student, no doubt a magician, because unlike most of the population, he was wearing his traditional magician garments, donning black robes with several trinkets embezzling it. He doesn't care for such trivial things such as school uniforms, as they promote nothing but conformity; it didn't matter much, he never received his uniform in the first place. Never have gotten his uniform in the first place, he chose to not care about it. If a teacher were to confront him about it, he would merely speak the truth. In a manner of digression it seems, the speech was commencing, and Chronix still appears to be only reading his books; he really didn't care much for the speech, since it didn't interest him nor benefit him. These things were trivial to him, as Europe never had these sorts of ceremonies or such riff raff.

However, while it all seemed a bore to him, he glanced up when he heard "Ready yourself, for in ten seconds if you have not answered my challenge I will force you to." It appeared another student has chosen to confront this man, whomever he was. He wasn't interested in the ceremony speaker, but the confronter, who adorned such symbols on his body, much like Chronix himself. When they emitted a light, Chronix could tell that this one was a magician like he was. He couldn't tell how powerful his spells were, but it intrigued him, as with anything to do with Magic ever did. However, there was nothing else he cared about. When he recalled this confronting man saying that there were skeptics who didn't think there was great power in magic, he merely chuckled under his breath.

"A fools errand he promotes. No matter, if he dies or humiliates himself, it'll be on his head. I might enjoy watching his execution."

--

It was late into the morning, and the alarm was still ringing. A boy was still crawling in bed, when he finally had a burst of energy, shouting at the top of his lungs. "SH*T! I'M LATE!"

Dani Septim was possibly the most normal boy attending the institute - normal as in no magical or esper prowess - discounting the fact that he has a robotic arm. While he got dressed in a rushed paced, putting on black cargo pants and a The Faceless T-Shirt, he rushed to grab his boots and his small bag and slung it over his shoulder. He never got his uniform yet, so this was all he had to make do. He didn't live too far from the institute, but he still had to run to barely even make it. There wasn't a bike nearby he could use, so all he could do was run to the institute.

...

After close to twenty minutes of fast paced running, he arrived at the institute, at no expense of cutting corners and crossing roads, illegally. He was lucky not to get caught. In any case, he rushed over to where the ceremony was being held.

When he entered, he saw what must be over 2000 people in the vicinity, all mages, espers, both students and staff, media too! He barely made it in time for the speech. He saw this man, and it appeared to be Yoshirou, the Aegis. What's more, he was a member of Judgment. Dani kinda wanted to join Judgment, or Anti-Skill, or do something while he was here. But that was issue: he was new, out of place, even more so than the one mage wearing all black reading his books in the back corner - such a goth, even his hair is black! - because he had no special place in this school. He only had a robotic arm, and even then, his only use would be to attend to machinery. But it's a school of magic and esper, what use would machinery be here?

Ignoring it all now, he noticed someone walking up to Yoshirou, and taking off his shirt, which revealed tattoos.

"Whoa, we got some pretty kinky people in this school..."

Then when the tattoos shown a light, and this man apparently confronted Yoshirou, saying that there was great power magic, Dani quickly reverted his mind and grew closer to the exit.

"Hey now... it's only the start of the school year, you mean to tell me that there's already going to be a fight? Between magicians and espers? I thought this school was supposed to change that. So.. so why? A teacher's going to intervene... right?"

Dani had an anxiety problem when being signed up for this school. Sure, it was a school, but it was one of magic and espers, superhuman powers that he had no protection from. He felt that they could all wipe him out if they wanted to. In fact, it was more like he believed that he had no chance, period. If he was to rely on his arm, how would it manage against magic powers?

A few days ago...

Shinka looked at her fellow cult members.
"This is a mission you must handle, Shinka," the cult leader spoke, "we will be watching you, but do complete your mission and prepare for the greatest ritual."

"666 Sacrifices to bring life to the Blind Idiot God. Understood," Shinka spoke in a dull manner.

"Good, now head to Academy City and gather worthy sacrifice for our great Outer Gods!"

---

Today...

A certain mysterious, rather curvacious figure walked into the festival. The suspicious individual spoke little.

The shy one shyed away from others. She looked at everyone interacting, with the very green of envy in her eyes.

Next, she saw a magician challenging an esper to a battle. It was a rare sight. Furthermore, she could access which person would be a worthier sacrifice...

Sam Lawrence was sitting near the middle of the auditorium, ever-so-slowly loosening his tie. "I do so love opening ceremonies...it's always too hot, too hard to see, and you get choked to death by your accessories while doing it", He muttered to himself. "Just get it over with already." By some amazing coincidence of timing, the speaker chose that moment to come and stage and begin talking. Sam listened attentively, not wanting to miss out on the first event at the school. The speech seemed kind of bland to him, with a large dose of generic "You're all special!" lines. The speaker was quite emphatic, though, and when he finished, Sam applauded just as loud as everyone else. He then looked around the room to see what would come up next, but saw something unexpected- some glowing shirtless guy walking up the aisle. To make it even weirder, the guy introduced himself as William, and challenged the speaker ("What was his name again? You-something.") to a battle. Sam raised an eyebrow. "That's certainly interesting. Wonder how the staff's gonna handle it..."

William had arrived late and was not allowed into the stadium since he was yet to be fully enrolled. He waited patiently on a bench outside listening to music on his mp3 player for the event to come to a close a young man (Isamu) walked out wearing the school's uniform, William looked at the man and waved and saying in a questioning manor "Hey?" whether or not he caught the man's attention William got up and walked towards him, his milky-white eyes quizzically focused on Isamu. When William got a few yards away from Isamu he stopped and asked "Could you show me where the office is possibly? I'm here to finish my enrollment." his voice was flat and lacking emotion, but it conveyed the sense that he was not comfortable with speaking to people. William reached into his jacket pocket and turned off his mp3 and removed his headphones stuffing them into the same pocket and waited for Isamu to reply.

Gin sat intently in the center of the crowd, observing his fellow classmates. The boy's uniform hung  wide open, reveling the top of his large Ouroboros tatto, and the school's dress shoes had been replaced with a pair of stylish black boots. But hey, at least he wore the pants correctly...

Blowing a strand of hair from his face, the young man began shifting through songs on his Mp3 player , only to have his attention stolen by a student making his way towards the stage. "And I am here to challenge you, Aegis, to prove to you and all the other skeptics present that there is great power in magic.  Ready yourself, for in ten seconds if you have not answered my challenge I will force you to." A large smirk formed across Gin's face, as the gray haired boy challenged Yoshirou, showing of a small display of magic in the process. Instantly standing up from his seat, Gin shouted down towards the stage, subtly activating his own magic."Aegis-Sempi, you cant possibly be considering letting such disrespect going unchecked? Show us all the power of Judgement, unless you're afraid of a little Magic..." As he spoke, Gin's shadow began shifting through the other shadows of the crowd, steadily spreading, and growing larger until it reached both ends of the stage.

With the preparations complete, Gin clenched his fist causing the tattoos on his chest to glow, and his shadow to suddenly materialize, rapidly forming a cage of sorts around the stage. Separating the Aegis, and his challenger from the rest of the crowd, with the exception of the first, and second rows. Satisfied with his work, Gin sat back in his seat, ignoring the confused looks of the Espers, that probably had know idea what he did. "But that would be ridiculous, right Sempi?"

As the energy rocketed towards Yoshirou, his auto-defensive system, programmed into his mind with the brain terminal, Testament, kicked into action, making his clothes and the air in front of him immune to all forms of electromagnetic radiation and blocking off the brunt of the attack. It still hurt though, as the air nor his school uniform was not completely seamless like his usual combat suit.

Any thoughts of "Oh god, I knew something was going to go wrong" was instantly quashed by the realization that "these punks dare challenge me?" Yoshirou glanced to the side at the Principal who appeared to be sneering at him. Damn magicians, but that's as good as a go-ahead as any, he thought. He was curious about this magic after all. He was about to grab Excalibur from the side of the stage when someone piped up from the audience again.

"You dare challenge Himura-sama? Don't you know who he is? He is the great Aegis-sama, the hero of Judgment! One of the highest ranked Level 4s in the city!" Yoshirou looked at his lackey in approval. The boy's name was Akira, Yoshirou recalled, and his last name was Kawa-something. He was in the same year as Yoshirou and followed Yoshirou from his old school. The guy was a Level 3 Esper with the ability Aero Hand. He shouldn't be too weak, though Yoshirou. Somewhat headstrong and eager to prove himself, he would be a great guinea pig to test these magicians' power.

"Try beating me first!" And with that, the boy rushed forwards with his fists straight towards the man who called himself Blackmoore. After contact with an object, he would release a very power gush of air, like another punch in quick succession, this one able to knock foes completely off balance, leaving them open for a punishing barrage of attacks.

Isamu paused for a moment to look at the guy, he was in a hurry, but that was no reason to abandon common courtesy and ignore the guy. He sighed. "Just head on in to join the assembly, you can ask a teacher inside when the ceremony is over, they will be more than happy to help you," he said somewhat gruffly and hurried on away.

In the room where the clock hand is locked at nine, and where the fallen tea cup refuses to spill, a young maiden laments her sealed life.

"Un. That's good enough for today, I suppose." Inside her small house, Sena finally rests her pen. She had been writing all night long, in a bid to not oversleep during her entrance ceremony. She glanced at her watch, which was completely out of sync from the actual time. After storing the results of her all-nighter in a small drawer. she walked towards the window and opened it, feeling the morning breeze blowing gently on her face.

"Feels nice..." She said slowly. Unfortunately, the wind caused another coughing fit, which was a common occurrence in Sena's everyday life. Realizing that she's running late for the entrance ceremony, she hurriedly put on her uniform and thigh-highs, before making a break for it. Luckily, she wasn't too late, and didn't miss much of Yoshirou's opening speech. "Yoshirou-san's speech was as brilliant as always... I'm quite jealous.Sena giggled as Yoshirou struggled to say "magic". Because they both entered on the same year, Sena knew Yoshirou a little better than most other people in the student body. At the same time, she had a small admiration for Yoshirou.

When the white-haired Magician challenged Yoshirou to a fight, she felt her consciousness fading away, slowly, and that people sitting next to her suddenly looked like they were frozen in time. She was confused at first, but then she realized that her Clocktower Queen activated against her will again. Luckily, it turned itself off again before further damage was done. Unfortunately, the students affected by her esper was less than happy, and began to stare at her. Sena wasn't very popular at Stavvgoll. Her attendance rate was very low and her power certainly didn't make interacting with others easy. "Sorry..." She muttered.

After a cage surrounded her (she was sitting in the first row), and another boy from her year challenged the magician to a fight, she felt something was off, and tried to intercept Akira's attack. "Akira-san, please stop!" She threw herself between the magician and Akira, with her esper ability activated. Akira's movement stops. She turned it off again, and Akira's attack misses the magician completely.

"Haaiz, this isn't interesting at all."  an impatient and obviously bored tone comes out of the Cheria's mouth. The girl looked  around the crowd for "something interesting" as the speech continues on and on (and is obviously of no interest to the young mage) while looking around, the young mage saw another girl(Yumi) who's oddly looking around her fellow students. "Who is she looking for?"  Cheria wondered. "Ahh, oh well, it's none of my business, I should just get outta here. Nothing's worth my time here."  says the girl while standing from her seat. While on her way out of the boring stadium, a man, whose age seemed quite far off from hers, blocked her way. "Where do you think you're going?" The seemingly grumpy man interrogated Cheria."Ahh crap!, this guy's probably a teacher!"  Cheria was supposedly gonna make up some excuse for her to get out but the teacher's attention immediately switched to another fellow student of hers who's on his way out of the stadium as well.  "Pssh, kids." muttered the grumpy teacher as he heads for the other student. "Ahhh!, lucky!" said the pleased mage as she sneaks out of the stadium.

"Maybe that one?"

Yumi's eyes followed a white haired man who was sitting a few rows in front of her. He seemed tense for some reason, as if he was wronged somehow. Her guess turned out to be correct as he displayed abilities she has never seen before, and challenged the speaker onstage to a duel for his pride.

What.

"Why is he picking a fight already?" Yumi exclaimed in disbelief. "I didn't want to see magic used like this!" The other students around her started to get a little restless as a shadowy cage was erected around the battle, which prompted Yumi to stand up and make her way out to the aisle. What was more surprising was that she noticed that the principal, who by all accounts should still be around, did not make a move to stop the fighting.

It looks like I found myself in a troublesome situation again.

Turning around, she darted out the way she entered the stadium, running past a teacher who was harrassing another student.  Once through the doors, Yumi turned and continued running through the hall, passing a particular pink haired girl on the way, and almost knocking her down in her haste.  A few moments later, Yumi had reached her destination, the place where she had her stuff stored; in particular, the gyroboots she wore earlier.

Alright, now to get these on again...

"Oh. Well. I wonder if this sort of thing is okay here... normal even. Gah, if I did something like that, Elder'd have my head on a platter..."

A fair, tan, young lad sat on the ground, a fair distance to the right of third row. The boy was clothed in clothing that was far different from the uniforms there, aside from the tie he had managed to throw on at the last second. Indicatively, and yet not related to his attire, he was... a bit late, having been disoriented on his way in by a high speed student. Rather, instead of being physically disoriented, he stood in awe of his surroundings which he tried very hard to ignore for the sake of being on time. As a result, he was unable to find a way into the crowd, eventually finding a comfortable spot on the ground nearby.

He didn't want to get in anyone's way. Or worse, offend anyone. Elder had told him beforehand that magi's and these "espah's" had never been on good terms, so every step until now had been carefully planned and orchestrated. However, he knew he'd have to loosen up eventually, if only to calm his own nerves down, but he had already decided to dedicate the first week to watching and learning. Hopefully, he'd be able to fit in well enough with time. If nothing else, he knew he'd stay cheerful at least.

Watching a wall of dark stuff erect from nowhere filled him with wonder and awe. Of course, the existence of magic is all to known to him, but he'd never seen anyone else cast anything, due to being the only magi on the island. At the same time, however, such displays had been giving him an uncomfortable feeling for quite some time. Perhaps their magics are fundamentally different than his?

"...Either way, I feel as though I should go. I mean, speech's over, so there shouldn't be a reason... "

Cutting off his own out-loud thoughts, he quickly hopped to his feet and made a quick jog for the door, only to stop dead in his tracks a few meters away. Teachers were harassing other students with the same flight mindset as him. He slowly began to back off, before giving up and a plopping firmly down onto the ground.

"Erm... perhaps that isn't such a good idea. I guess we haven't been formally dismissed anyway. I think that's a thing here..."

It was early in the morning and Taha was already sleepy. He was barely able to handle staying awake at the opening ceremony. He had so much work to do and classes didn't even start yet. Looking at all of the prep work he had to deal with in his research he barely made a budge with anything. Though the great and honorable Aegis was being a good person and all. The proud, outstanding, level 4 Esper that the school knew him for. It wasn't Yoshiirou's fault that he Taha kept nodding off and trying to sneak in a brief nap.

Unfortunately Taha made the decision to close his eyes once for what he thought was a brief second, but when he opened them he could only see pandemonium. Oh what fresh hell is this? Magicians somehow got on stage other Espers seemed to start getting into the fray. For a school that was based on the principles of bonding magic and science this did not seem to be doing its job perfectly. Taha woke up to see the shadowy cage forming with and decided that there was one good way to actually deal with this. He tapped his wristband and under the sleeve of his uniform the nanobots that make up Hyozanryu climbed up and formed a contact lens in his eyes. Now he was recording all of the events that were taking place. Well I did need data on magic so it can properly analyze it. Though this does mean I have more work to do...ugh.

The only true bit of luck he had was that he was pretty far up in the stadium so he was out of immediate danger. He actually had a pretty good vantage point to be a spectator. What was truly disturbing though is how the faculty and staff had taken a spectators stance on this event as well. I mean come on there is nothing smart about this. People could get hurt, buildings could be destroyed, and can we talk about the research at risk here? He muttered to himself while watching these events unfold. Though after seconds of thought on the matter the teachers at the academy were also scientist not well versed in magic. This was a rare opportunity, Taha realized that he probably wasn't the only person recording this...event.

"I did not come down here to have my time wasted by a fool."  Blackmoore thought as the rash young level 3 esper came rushing towards him.  The fool didn't even know that he was charging right into death.  Certainly Will wasn't a very well-known fellow, he never had much desire for fame, but he had been personally invited to attend this academy by the principal himself as such he had no intention of being beaten by some peon that the one he had challenged had allowed to fight his battles for him.  Still, this would give him a chance to show off his abilities.

If there was one thing he'd managed in his training, it was being able to work very quickly with his hands.  Thus it was that even as the student of similar age to himself rushed forwards, he clapped his hands together as if praying right in front of his chest.  Mages would be able to recognize the light that was soon glowing out from between the small gaps as mana charging for a spell.  Espers were unlikely to know anything about it.  The young boy had barely taken four steps forward when the light had shown up, and William calmly waited until the charge had left him so committed to the attack that he would not be able to dodge.  Patience was a virtue.  Finally, when the boy was barely a meter away from him he made his move.

"Be torn apart by the winds of chaos!"  The words were spoken simultaneously as he pulled his hands apart and thrust them forward.  The unique arrow-like tattoos on his palms were glowing with that baleful multicolored light that the attack he'd launched to herald his challenge had emitted before.  As soon as his arms were fully extended, a motion that one could have blinked and missed, a great cloud of energy which never stayed the same color for long erupted from his palms and gave the appearance of some sort of great colorful wind bursting forth from him along a conical path.  This energy would bite into any and everything before it as if it were a gale carrying along thousands of razor-sharp blades.  Of course, unpredictable as the effects of chaos energy were, those caught in the attack could be subjected to everything from severe burns to their skin and muscle being weathered away into dust.  Though it is difficult to say in the case of young Akira, it is likely that one caught in the way would at the very least be severely injured.

Sam sat with his mouth dropped open, amazed by the quickness at which things had escalated. "Isn't this school supposed to be promoting PEACE between magic and science?! I guess some people didn't get the memo..." He watched with increasing anxiety as another Mage joined the first, and started making a shadow cage, and then some esper came up to help Yoshirou. He looked around wildly, trying to spot the adults in the room. "Shouldn't the staff be putting a stop to this?" Then his attention turned back to the fight, as the new esper charged, and William fired something to counter him. "Damn it...I don't want to get involved in fighting on my first day in this school. I guess I'll keep watching for now, but if things get out of hand, I'll have to try to help somehow..." He searched the room for things he could bond with, but saw only the wooden floor and stage. "Crap...I'd much prefer cement or steel if I need to fight, but this will have to do." The boy quietly took of his right shoe and sock, so his foot could touch the floor. This would allow him to bond with it while walking, if necessary.

Gin smile faded slightly, as he watched the gray haired student fire off some sort of offensive magic. He silently noted his interest in him, as he watched the attack tear a hole in his cage, before flying off to the back of the room. Raising from his seat once more, Gin extending his hand towards his cage ordering a large chunk of his shadow to return to him. Causing the cage to shrink substantially, mending the hole, and pushing all inside closer to the stage.

"Now that I think about it... Maybe we should all partake in the fun!" As he spoke he watched another female student dart out of the room, followed by a male who looked out the door, then simply dropped to floor... Oh well, they were just going to miss out of the festivities. Once again sending his shadow out to gather other shadows, Gin chuckled as he  flicked the volume up on his Mp3 player. Suddenly the entire mid section was filled with the sounds heavily distorted guitar, and screaming vocals. A student rose in protest, but was promptly shoved backwards by Gin who was now making his way to the isle, calmly walking to the beat of the drums.

As the boy shoved past yet another student, he noticed that his shadow had manged to make its way to the back corners of the room, glancing to where it lingered, he notice one student in particular that was wearing the traditional mage robes, and seemed to have a slightly different aura the the others...  Gin chuckled once again, he didn't care much about  who he was going to "Play" with be it Mage or esper, as long as they were fun. Making eye contact with the robed mage, he smiled warmly, before screaming up to the back seats. "Hey, somebody stop that guy in the robe! He's using some sort of weird magic!"  As he spoke, Gin materialized his shadow in the form of black tendrils, that proceeded to flail wildly, knocking the students around the robed man off their seats.

Winking at the other mage, Gin then began walking towards the back row, still bobbing his head to the music. "What an interesting way to start the school year..."

William sighed and went inside passing two women before he entered the stadium. He stopped just inside the entrance seeing a mage no doubt his age cast a powerful spell against another student. William looked around seeing the cage that covered most of the area, he knew he couldn't let a brawl go on between the mages and espers. William nearly tore off his jacket and shirt throwing them aside, the seals branded into his arms and torso glowed a dark red and the runes began emitting a black aura that showed without a doubt to the other mages the necrotic nature of his powers. William closed his eyes and crossed his arms placing his hands on his shoulders, as he did bone like armor began taking shape on his arms forming razor sharp claws at his finger tips and small rows of spikes up his forearms. William opened his eyes and stepped into the stadium then looked at the student that was advancing up the isle in his direction, hearing the music blasting from the boy's headphones William frowned and gestured for the boy to get out of his way.

"O-oh... geez, this culture is more violent than I thought."

Shots had already been fired, so to speak, and Rangi had little idea about how to react. Just based on certain common morals, this is an outrage, but what does he know? He hasn't been in this country for more than a week, and neglected to do any research on the world outside his island beforehand, save for the stuff Elder had taught him over the years. For all he knows this could be a completely normal thing here, and interrupting it could be a major sign of disrespect or a major offense.

...Such thoughts were quickly pushed out of his head as he paid more attention to his surroundings. There were far more people who were worried or panicked than he had originally thought, and if this was a normal thing here, there wouldn't be this many people in that state. Standard logic, right?

"... I wonder... what I can even do to help?"

A tricky question. After all, it's not as thought he has any ability to detain or calm. Or...

An idea quickly came to his mind. Based on what he was watching, the boy blasting the strange music was the main instigator, despite the silver haired guy being the source of all the trouble. If he could be dealt with, perhaps things would simmer down. Or, at least, not get any worse.

"Alright. Here goes nothing!"

He swiftly hopped to his feet, charging through students and over chairs straight towards the music guy.

*Yawns* "Should I or should I not go to that boring assembly? Hmmm I don't really think anything special's going to happen might as well just skip it" said Franz Geccs as he awakes 10 minutes after the assembly already started. Unknowing of the events that is happening in the assembly he just slowly got out of bed, into the shower and fell asleep there for about 30 more minutes. Belphegor was laughing seeing just how much of a sloth Franz can get while Satan was getting impatient and just wanted Franz to go there and wreak some havoc. "Hmkay, that seemed enough time for me to sleep, guess its time for me to get going soon". And with that. Franz finished up home and head for the academy unknowing of the events that have transpired that day.

Unaware of what's happening inside the stadium, the young mage continued walking away from the venue of her extreme boredom. A few moments later, a darting figure bumps into the young mage. "Ack! Hey!" The girl didn't fell down but is still obviously furious, "Hey, isn't that the same girl from earlier?"  The girl became even more infuriated and decided to give chase to the girl. "Where is she?"  while looking around the area she finally found the girl who caused her extreme anger. "Hey! What's wrong with- ehh?"  instead of shouting at the girl, she ended up staring at the "techy-looking" boots the girl was wearing. " Hmmm that's certainly something made from science. I assume she's some sort of esper?" The wondering girl approached the woman with a displeased look on her face.

"Hey you!" shouts the furious mage at the interesting girl.

Watching around her as chaos started to spread, Rin just managed to catch a glimpse of a tattoo in the shape of some sort of circle glow before the shadow cage isolated her, along with the rest of the first two rows, from the rest of the room. Putting that out of mind for now, she waded into the chaos that was starting in those two rows, with several people scrambling about each-other looking for any gap in the shadows separating them from the rest of the students. As a few of the students started to all out brawl with each-other, and others tried to apply their powers to the barrier in hopes of getting through, she walked further forward, disengaging from the rest of the students to watch the oncoming confrontation between the spokesman of Judgment and this unknown magician. While she did, her hand flicked down to rest lightly on something holstered on her right hip, hoping she wouldn't need to use it on any of the students around the place, and just kept watching as the tensions around the room continued to grow and intensify.

After double checking to make sure that the boots were making contact, Yumi stood up.  All she needed to do was somehow get all the fighting to stop.

Is it even possible for me to do so?  Maybe I should just forget about the whole thing...

Yumi shook her head.  It was not the time to be doubting herself.  She kinda wished she brought a few more pieces of gear with her, but what she had with her would have to do.  Before she could take even a step, though, she heard a voice from behind.

"Hey you!"

Yumi turned around.  It was the girl in the hallway from before... not that Yumi remembered.  "Yes? Do you need something?" Yumi asked, figuring if she was anything like her classmates in her old school, she'd want to borrow her Peak Performance ability for some thing or another.

Inside the Stadium

Now this situation was getting out of seriously out of control. The Principal didn't seem to care at all and simply watched the chaos unfold with a wry smile. What started as a Duel turned into an all-out brawl and people were fleeing the stadium to get away from the violence. As a member of Judgment, he supposed it was up to him to resolve this situation. Pulling on his armband and his brass-knuckled leather gloves and snatching Excalibur from the side, he proceeded to announce into the microphone for everyone to stop.

...

Of course, he was ignored, everyone was too taken away by the excitement. Sighing, Yoshirou leaped off the stage. First order of business was this annoying cage, he needed to get the innocent people out first and he ran towards the edge of the cage, while catching a bit of the residue energy of Blackmoore's attack as he passed by for future reference. Contacting the murky material of the cage, he made it familiar to his power and then he sheared through it easily with Excalibur. Grabbing the nearest person, he shoved him through the hole. The others realized the opening and started hurrying through of their own accord.

With the safety of the people mostly taken care of Yoshirou turned to the troublemakers. "As a member of Judgment, I will apprehend the delinquents," he announced. As a gesture of his power, he slashed Excalibur down onto the ground. His sword, long-since attuned to his power, was an extension of his touch and made the air pushed by his sword immune to the resistance of other air and the soil, creating the effect that he had released an invisible energy slash, splitting thin, but extremely deep chasm in the ground. "Surrender now and I will show mercy."

They had no intent, it seemed, of doing as he said, and at this, Yoshirou smiled. Oh this was going to be fun, he thought. They were students of his school, but Academy City's medical technology was sufficient in completely repairing all but the most lethal of wounds so Yoshirou merely had to avoid striking vital organs, he was free to remove a few limbs. He ran forwards, using his sword to make another few slashes of air speed towards Blackmoore's head. This guy is dangerous, he thought. That blast was something and I still haven't completely figured out his power yet.
