Pokemon XY&Z

I'm also on the "gonna wait and see" fence as well, though it is implied that Goodra will return for the full battles at the league, and that has been at the centre of discussions about the episode.

Also calling it now, Professor Oak's Rotom is going with Ash to Alola functioning as his Pokedex. Suddenly Oak catching it makes perfect sense.

Cool, oh and in my anime playthrough of Y, Used Capture Rate 3 and a Quick Ball to capture Yveltal, and I was lucky enough for a critical catch. It worked before with Xerneas in my X playthrough so why not do it a second time, right? But again, game talk.

Now Ash has to get ready cause the Kalos League is coming.

But first he'll be stopping off by the wetlands to see how Goodra is doing and to deal with like 20 billion Carbink.

- ^ That sequence reminds me of a similar sequence against Candice

- I thought it was neat seeing Pikachu halt the first Gyro Ball by Iron Tailing the ground.

- Hmm... hiding the Key Stone and Mega Stone from plain sight, yeah that'll do it.

[spoiler=XY&Z 29]Did anyone else enjoy that bergmite? I did for some reason.

Anyways I'm kinda wonder if Wulfric was sandbagging a bit last time because..

1. He didn't Mega Abomasnow (It might have been because he was caught off guard and or being hit by flying press so many times in a row. That'd be understandable because similarly to the games it just means he went down before he got the chance).
2. Felt like he didn't need to?

Avalugg was badass in this episode too (gotta love how it just knocked Pikachu out in beyblade form lol). See how one special attack was able to deal enough damage to actually allow Avalugg to not take hits for days like before. (Even then though, it took thunderbolt a lot better than I thought). It makes me want to make a Wulfric based team for Battle Spot Doubles (which could be kinda hard...).

I loved the episode a lot. Based on the battle between M.Snow and Ash-Gren I'm guessing with all the "showing how OP this form is" shenanigans they did with Ash-Gren, that Ash-Gren's power is equivalent to a Mega? (Obviously makes sense considering M.Abomasnow was still winning for a bit against 100% Ash-Gren)

ONE LAST THING THO.

Does anyone else like it when a pokemon doesn't even have to move and yet it still kicks ass? I'm looking directly at M.Abomasnow (I did kinda wanna see it move though, but of course it probably can hardly move with how it's body is after mega evolving).

TL:DR: I loved this episode and Avalugg and M.Abomasnow are badass, 10/10 pokemon :P

[spoiler=122 thoughts]

  • Ash won as we probably expected (looks like Ash-Greninja has improved enough to the point Ash isn't passing out; oh wait, he perfected it)
  • Wulfric uses Abomasnow last this time, and had the Mega Stone hidden under its leaves (or whatever Abomasnow's covered with). Also, Wulfric's necklace has the Key Stone (well, there's nowhere else on his body to keep it). Question is, how/when did he get a Mega/Key Stone?
    • If XY get their remakes, Wulfric had better have a Mega Abomasnow. Him not having one at present is disappointing. (Like I mentioned earlier, going to wonder how the hell Shota got his hands on a Mega Stone. Same with Trevor)
  • Ash uses Pikachu first (it does well enough in getting rid of Bergmite, but dies to Avalugg).

[spoiler=Response]

I'd probably assume the second part for Abomasnow for now, but if he had Mega Evolved earlier, Ash might've been screwed even more.

Still wondering if he did the same with Shota (not Mega Evolve) or he actually did Mega Evolve; might assume the former (otherwise Shota might've said something about it).

Knowing the writers, they will probs surprise us as usual, but that's MONTHS away, I'm not worrying about it myself.

On a different note, going back to the gym battle, it's the first time since his battle with Brawly that he changed his line-up for the rematch.

Also when Greninja used its frozen cut "knives" as ice skates to manoeuvre its way through the gym was similar to when Chimchar did it against Candice's Abomasnow.

I just hope they have a different reason for following him. I mean, Misty, May and Dawn had the bike thing and Serena wanted to go cause she had a crush on Ash, and Iris (My fave in my opinion) wanted to go cause, well, no reason.

So, I think the female trainer will be named Luna. On second thought that name is done to death. Maybe Diana, or Sunny.

At this point, it's either gonna be Goodra or a reserve, though it's likely Goodra won't immediately rejoin Ash and will come back when he 6-v-6s happen.

On another note, someone made a gif of Florges Vine Whipping Quagsire

http://www.ezimba.com/work/160606C/ezimba19008880492800.gif

I haven't been able to get that image out of my head all day. (Though it's not as bad as Slimy wet dragon/Flower hentai between Goodra/Florges)

(...I really do not want to see the latter...Pic wasn't that bad though.)

XY119 is up subbed (the one where Ash fights Shota and loses).

As already mentioned, Heal Pulse should NOT have worked the way it did in the episode, but yeah Shota was smart to teach Clawitzer Ice Beam otherwise.

I'd be nice to see Goodra back but I was hoping Ash would use one of his old mon like in previous even-numbered gens. Not that it's impossible for both to happen, but...

He might bring one of his old 'mons back, but given the distance between Kanto and Kalos; not really likely (I would assume that they can teleport stuff that far though).

We'll have to see in a few hours.

Doesn't really matter how far Kanto is from "Region X", one call to Oak and a pokemon will be transferred from his lab lickety split.

[spoiler=Although...]

We'll probs have a Gliscor situation where Goodra returns for the full battles, if not then a phonecall to Oak will be happening.

[spoiler=response]

To be fair, I kinda expected this. A few days ago I was like "I wouldn't be surprised if Ash doesn't ask Goodra back straight away".

Though coincidently, Lapras (ice) was visited after the defeat of Clair (dragon), whilst Goodra (dragon) was visited after the defeat of Wulfric (ice)

it is like the Hoenn Trick House, but unlike that episode (which featured the last ever appearance of pen-wielding Jigglypuff), next week's episode is more-or-less skippable filler.

EDIT:

[spoiler=Thoughts on XY123]

- So the OP has been changed a bit, removing Wulfric and giving more focus on Zygarde Complete, and it looks neat.

- A little disappointed Goodra didn't have a new move at least, but it isn't the end of the world.

- It was amusing to see the Carbink troll Florges and Quagsire being conveniently present to take the blame, until the 3rd time when Floette saw the Carbink and stopped Florges wrongfully punishing Quagsire.
