[spoiler=120 thoughts]

Ash got wrecked by Avalugg (though to be fair, Abomasnow's ability made everything Ash sent out take some damage). That, and Ice Body didn't help much. I admit he did get an early win with Hawlucha, but that was all he got.

(Wulfric, why weren't you a challenge when WE fought you? Oh wait, I probably shouldn't say that he was easy just because I just happened to have a Fire starter and M-Lucario to smash him with.)

But yeah, he was crushed afterwards and went to contemplate what happened. I admit it was handled well enough.

Ah right, and they actually used the proper term for Ash-Greninja.

-----

I don't know what Wulfric told Ash, but likely something similar to what Yashio told Serena; you're missing something important (and if you don't find it, you lose).

Next episode's looking darker now, but suppose that's a good thing.

----

As for why I use Shota, it's simply because I watch the subbed anime; hence why I also use Citron/Eureka instead of their English names.

Not going to answer the other question about Ben 10, since I don't even watch it.

I agree, the preview was handled rather nicely following the events of the episode.

Also,

[spoiler=Note about Gym #8]

This is the first time that Pikachu has not been used in the 8th gym of a region.

I don't watch Ben 10, so I can't comment on that.

I'll have to fill you in:

At the start of Ben 10 Omniverse Ben used a conductoid alien dna he called Feedback, a lot. Conductoids are aliens that absorb electrical energy and redirect it. In a two-parter Rook, Ben's partner, wanted to know about Feedback but he refused to tell. On Galvin Prime Ben told the story of why he doesn't use Feedback anymore: Ben uses Feedback a lot, but his friends think it's not healthy to be too reliant on one alien form. After which Malware comes in, seperates Feedback from Ben and destroys it. This devastated Ben, so he used the Omnitrix to supposedly destroy Malware.

The point here is Ash should not rely on just one pokemon, especially if it has a mechanic that is anime-exclusive.

We know Ash has multiple pokemon he can rely on but does anyone notice how much he uses Greninja?

He's probably using Greninja a lot more since Olympia foresaw it/Ash doing things together (or rather, the two of them would unlock a mysterious power; which they have in the form of Ash-Greninja).

But yes, he needs to have more than one Pokemon to rely on; otherwise he will be screwed later on. And no, he cannot rely on Pikachu to save him again; a lot of fans aren't pleased that Ash doesn't use another Poke besides him.

Just like how I don't rely solely on my Eons or Espeon to do my fights in-game [even though I believe they're tough enough to hold their own when needed], Ash indeed needs to start using other Pokes (and we know he has three more; Talonflame, Hawlucha and Noivern).

----

Anyway, watched the official subs for 113/114; opinion since the "unofficial" stuff hasn't changed. Yeah, 114's little enka thing was mostly the motto, but with some added features. I will agree that the dub will look silly if they even try to Westernize that scene.

Suppose I'll have to watch 115-119 on Youtube from that other subber, despite the chance of having obvious spelling/grammar errors. I probably shouldn't be surprised with the wait (I had to deal with ZEXAL not having subs for the whole series), but yeah they are really behind.

Right...

Anywho Greninja is important to the current plot, so ofc he'd be using it a lot. Besides come the league, he'll have to use his other pokemon.

While I do understanding complain about how much Greninja is being used it makes sense given the whole "it has a totally new form and Ash wants to figure it out". Not to mention Ash has gone out of his way to get Noivern some training since the last two battles he used it. Hell, it even made Pikachu mad when it did so against Alain.

Pika would've been a better choice against Metang, typing-wise, yes, but Ash needed to train Noivern up so it fights well enough. But yeah, Ash wants to figure out how he can transform into Ash-Greninja so a lot of testing. (Assume that Greninja needs to be in a losing situation and both need to have the same amount of drive to win).

It still put up a decent fight. I just loved how salty Pikachu looked when Ash went with Noivern.

That has seemed to be the trigger up until this point so that is a sound theory.

Not gonna lie, I thought this was the first time Snow Warning was seen in the anime, but I forgot about the ability being used by an Abomasnow in BW140. Having said that, I'm surprised it wasn't seen in DP especially since HAs didn't exist then.

EDIT: XY116 is now subbed.

[spoiler=Initial thoughts on XY121]

- This was a good development episode for Ash after he lost his confidence following his defeat as well as perfecting Greninja's Ash-Greninja form

- A couple of weeks ago, I read the summary for the upcoming episode featuring Goodra and Carbink, and I was confused as to why they would be heading towards Lumiose City, but now we know why, because that's where the Kalos League will be held.

I have a good feeling the Flare arc will begin before the league. There are some unconfirmed titles that I've seen that suggest that Team Flare will launch a siege on Lumiose City following the fight between Lysandre and Alain in Lysandre Labs. Ofc this speculation, but the events could cause the league to be delayed for a bit whilst repairs are done.

Wait, run that by me again. He finds out soon? Seems like the series won't let up until the ending at this point since it seems like we're going right into Flare soon after the 8th badge episode.

Anyway watched the raw (don't care if the subs are speeding up, still won't have subs for this for like a month) and yea, very good episode for Ash's character. I do enjoy when Team Rocket is less evil and decide to check up on Pikachu after Ash comes back. One of the more interesting things in the show is the relationship between Ash and Pikachu and Team Rocket.

Ofc, we should take it with a grain of salt since they're rumoured, but this is what we have rumoured atm;

June 9th Goodra/Carbink

June 16th Pancham focus

June 23rd M-Charizard vs M-Gyarados

June 30th Lumiose Siege part 1 (the rumoured title did say part 1)

July 7th Lumiose Siege part 2

So assuming these are confirmed, the Flare arc is pretty much leading up to the movie.

I like that we're getting a Panocha focus episode. While he has a ton of personality we don't really see it center stage all that much.

Makes sense for the Flare arc to lead into the movie since I'm pretty sure perfect Zy shows up which currently can't happen since half of itself is captured.

I agree, it does make sense, and I think I remember making an assumption a few pages back that it'd happen around June/July time, and yeah Perfect Zygarde was seen in the latest trailer, so Z2 will obvs be freed by then.

As for Pancham, I do agree that it's nice that we're getting another Pancham focus episode, it defo has been a good while since there's been some focus on it.

Yeah, Serena's Pancham hasn't gotten a lot of attention since being captured so it'll be nice. But otherwise, if rumors are true, Team Flare arc will come quickly.

I would hope Serena and Citron both get new Pokes, but doubting it.

[spoiler=121 thoughts]

  • Ash yells at Serena for not understanding what he's going through or something (though that results in Serena throwing snowballs at him), BUT...that finally opened his mind.
  • Pokemon League's in Lumiose City? Guess that's why they're going all the way back to Route 14, as it's close by. (Would've expected it to be in a filler city, but since Gen 7 is approaching, they probably couldn't. Or really, Kiloude would've been acceptable)
  • Ash apparently perfects Ash-Greninja and they're ready. (If only we could see how Shota did against Wulfric, and whether or not he had to deal with Mega Abomasnow)

So it turns out we're not getting the Flare arc next month after all, and we are having the Kalos league beginning next month instead.

New titles revealed by the Pokémon Fan magazine;

Episode 927: Heartbursts at the Ingenuity Festival! (June 16th) http://i.imgur.com/Y0z6lZk.jpg

Episode 928: The Kalos League Begins! Mega Charizard Showdown: X s Y!! (June 30th)

Episode 929: Mega Sceptile vs Raichu! I gained some EXP!! (July 7th)

Scans: http://i.imgur.com/tTnwArx.jpg / http://i.imgur.com/lcQhII7.jpg

The Mega Charizard Y user is Trevor (You can just about make out his head on the screen in the scan) but there's no way he's gonna win as he is against Alain.

Same thing with Tierno in the following episode, there's no way he'll beat Shota. (seeing as Mega Sceptile has Lightningrod as its ability)

The first scan also features Mega Absol and Mega Garchomp, which means Astrid and Remo from the first Mega Evolution special are Kalos league entrants too http://i.imgur.com/JTdgeYA.jpg

Ofc my main gripe with the Kalos league beginning at the very end of next month is that it'll be interrupted by the movie
