Flame Dragon
That's why I ended up having to watch that subber on Youtube; granted, there are some spelling/word errors but it's generally correct. (I haven't watched 115-118 though). 119's on Animefun right now; you can use that if you've not watched it. I've been putting off watching the raws simply because I'm just going to watch it with subs anyway, but I think I'm nearing my breaking point. One or two weeks is one thing. A month, and inconstantly at that, for episodes is too much.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Inconsistencies in subbing is likely another reason I should learn Japanese (given that I'm not waiting for the dubs to come out, and I likely can't watch them anyway due to no cable). Or in the case of that subber I'm likely forced to watch now if they're wildly inaccurate. But yeah, it's been a while now and still nothing past 112 officially. Astro Dude
Team Flare should take lessons from Dr. Eggman. They should come up with a machine to gather up all the Zygarde Cells in one spot.
~British Soul~
They writers did a good job handling him. He's a likable character and his semi-frequent use since his induction has really allowed them to show that and his grow. Only two rivals that I'd put ahead of him are Gary and Paul and both of them had a whole series (2 for Gary) to develop while Shota only showed up in the back half of XYZ. I do still stand by me saying Ash shouldn't lose to him in the league. No matter how much better he is a starting trainer still doesn't feel like the type of person to beat Ash when it actually matters.I don't think Ash should lose to Shota at the league either, it'll defo be a close fight but yeah I think Ash'll probs win. I do agree that Shota is a likeable character and is defintely one of the better anime-rivals, but I also agree that Gary and Paul are better. Astro Dude
In future news, Methinks we should see a resident from Alola, or have someone tell Ash about it. I mean there was Alexa from X and Y and she was introduced in the anime during the Island travels.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
That's pretty much a given, but when that'll occur; we don't know. But it'll certainly occur towards the end, when Team Flare is likely dealt with and the league is over. We'll assume it'll air sometime in September, after more data has been revealed. ~British Soul~
I assume Ash finding out about Alola will probs come around October-time methinks, probs by Oak or some guy at the league or something.
Flame Dragon
It IS possible for Ash to not learn about it, but it seems unlikely. As it is only Gen 4 didn't introduce any new region element in the anime. The others were Gen 1: Oak and the GS ball Gen 2: Rival trainer Gen 3: Gary Gen 4: None. BW starts with Ash going on vacation in Unova. Gen 5: Alexa

Flame Dragon
And episode 22 is finally subbed. It was cute. Not nearly as shippy as the dance episode, but man is that ship real. Side from that, nothing TOO noteworthy. And now to watch the raws because 4 episodes behind is too many. Watched 23. WAY more important dialog. This is going to drive me insane since I only had a VERY faint idea as to what was going on. I will make one comment though, Puny-chan hiding when Alan showed was VERY interesting. Flash Flyer - Sakura
They subbed 113 yet? (the one when Eureka's s'il vous plait thing backfired on her, and she ended up being jealous for the bulk of the episode) Suppose I'll give them both a watch though, just to see if there are any errors (and if they actually subbed Team Rocket's little enka thing which the last subber I watched deliberately said "screw it" and didn't). Flame Dragon
113 is subbed too. They also subbed the enka thing. It was mostly the motto. Going to be fun seeing that localized. Watched all the raw. Holy hell the battle with the Champion was really good. Ash's lose to Shota also worked. From what it looked like he was getting nervous and that was throwing him. When Ash-Greninja failed he became distracted letting Shota move in for the KO. Using Heal Pulse on yourself is total bull though since that is the exact opposite of how it works in game. Looks like he does it again in the battle for the 8th badge so odds are his lose will be tied to him collapsing again or something going wrong during it. The episode between gym battles will likely result in him perfect Ash-Gren.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Yeah, Heal Pulse is supposed to heal the opponent, NOT you. (If the move was Recover, then we wouldn't be having problems since THAT is a self-recovery move, but Clawitzer doesn't learn Recover). As for 114, I'm kinda doubtful that they'll do it properly (but since 4Kids isn't dubbing it anymore [i think], they probably won't screw it up that badly). If I sound pessimistic about it, blame it on 4Kids and how they screwed up other anime (including that rice ball/donut thing among others). One of the weird things about the anime how much damage a Pokemon can take before going down so where it does eventually faint could easily be the same even had it not recovered. Instead you just get a total hack move to feels cheap. I feel like they are just going to do it like the subs did since no matter how they do it the scene is WAY too Japanese to not look weird to an American audience. Astro Dude
4 the record guys, 4kids is dead, in fact they stopped dubbing pokemon after Season 8. Pasta la Vista, it was more than a season 8 finale, it was basically 4kids saying goodbye to the Pokemon franchise. You know, a training episode would be nice. Remember waaaaaaaayyyyyyy back when Ash lost to Brawly and threw a fit because he thought he was a lazy bum? But makes you wonder how Ash can master and perfect Ash-Greninja, without him fainting before the battle ends in just 1 episode.

I had to check on Bulbapedia after the episode to see what it was (as much as I'd like to remember the movesets off the top of my head, I don't have that for certain Pokes). Otherwise, I would've assumed it was Recover (but then we'd have another case of a Pokemon using a move that it can't learn in-game).

I legit had no idea what move was used, though to be fair I didn't bother to check either tbph. [spoiler=Thoughts on XY120]- Originally I thought that the battle would be interrupted due to something happening with Ash-Greninja, but from the looks of things, there didn't seem to be any issues and Ash simply got defeated, getting swept by Avalugg. It's the first time since the Original Sereis that Ash has lost a second gym battle in a region.- Not surprised Shota left the group at the end, it was nice to see him stick around after the previous episode, but this was to be expected. Astro Dude
[spoiler What happens next]My shock was from Ash leaving the group to find Greninja, who felt like he let Ash down big time. And i'm not sure how many times Ash got scolded by Nurse Joy, but this looked a bit more serious, considering Ash knew the conequences. And why doesn't anyone call Sawyer by his dub name? I do. Though it is nice to see Wulfric after all this time. It feels like forever, but let's review Ash's Gym Loss track record: [spoiler Ash's Gym Battle Loss Track Record]Brock: Lost in round 1 but got the badge out of kindness.Sabrina: Lost, twice. Astro Dude
Spoiler tags for a review of Ash's Gym Battle Loss track record? I kinda see your point. You see these battles go down? Also, I have to bring this up: Anyone remember the Ben 10 Omniverse alien Feedback? What if Ash becomes too reliant on Ash-Greninja like Ben was reliant on Feedback in his youth? Flame Dragon
If you don't want to use spoiler tags, use general speak. Like saying the episode handled Ash's lost very well. Or that he seemed to be losing his calm which likely resulted in his past two loses. I will say one thing though, the preview for the next episode was handled beautifully.
