Well as far as Alain knows (who Aliana and Mable recognised in XY106 as Lysandre's bodyguard), he is working on the belief that Lysandre is harnassing Mega Evo energy for peaceful purposes.

Also in the games, Lysandre's plans involved the ultimate weapon, but in the anime we don't know the full details of his plan apart from that it involves Zygarde, so we don't properly know if he wants to destroy the world, most likely he does but we don't know for sure at this time. Furthermore I don't think Lysandre would deny the cure for Chespin

Episode 13 has FINALLY been subbed. Was good. Sawyer's still out of Ash's league, but he looks to be getting closer. When he gets his Mega it should be more interesting. Alain is also out of Ash's (or at least Greninja's) league though. It held on surprisingly well though. Also, Alain calls it a Mega evolution and given everything we know it certainly acts like one. Though Alain might have been sensing the Mega Evo potential of Sceptile, not Gren at the start. I also do liked how now the group is really curious what exactly Ash Greninja is. Also, the bit in the middle where we get a hint at what Flare is doing was cool. Looking forward to more Alain next week. Curious how Ash and the others will play into the events of the episode.

 

Also, I would LOVE if Ash's Charizard come back so we can have a Y vs. X battle.

I think a lot of us would like to see Charizard come back and get a Mega; think Ash and it have enough of a bond to be able to Mega Evolve without any problems. 

 

But yeah, it's about time the subs came out (now for 106 and 107; the Zygarde one and the side one involving Chesnaught). And of course, 108 with the removed scenes present.

Though, Shota (I'm using the Japanese name) did come very close to beating Greninja, so that's something (though taking type advantage into consideration). If Sceptile does end up getting a Mega (however Shota gets his hands on a Mega Stone), it'll be interesting.

For reference (since you probs missed it, judging by your post): Aria VS Serena! Open the Door to the Future!!

 

As much as I think Serena could win, I have a small hunch that Aria will win.

Yeah, I'm thinking Aria/Elle will come out on top in the end. While it would be nice for Serena to actually win it all, might be bad writing as Aria certainly has a lot more experience in doing these things. Then again, it's not like we had underdogs coming out on top in the end (see DP with Hikari vs Haruka with contests, and as much as I think the result should've been reversed; BW with Iris and Hikari for general battling [taking into account Dragonite's refusal to listen]).

 

In all, Serena should be ready (but she is probably still thinking about what Palermo told her at the end of this episode; is she truly ready for the biggest challenge of all?).

Honestly, right now I'm curious what Serena is going to end up doing for the last 25 odd episodes. Some of that is going to go to Flare, the 8th Gym, and the League, but even a high estimate puts that at only like half the episodes I'd expect for them to have left. Not to mention, will she keep traveling with him or will her Kalos Queen ambition conflict with that.

 

 

But thats all speculation stuff. What we DO have is a trailer for the next movie

 

I don't see a 6th Pokemon with Ash's Pokemon. Also interesting to see Ash Greninja not in his water bubble.

I don't think they're deliberately not showing it, it's probs a case of him still not having a 6th pokemon come July. We know that XY has now surpassed AG in the longest continuous period of Ash not having a full team of six pokemon.

And ofc Team Rocket would encounter Magearna.

 

[spoiler=Thoughts on latest episode]

When I first saw Team Rocket's mecha for this episode (which would've been in last week's preview), I thought we'd see the arms/thorns being used for something, but that wasn't the case.

The Zapdos seemed pretty territorial at first, attacking anything on site, but after Noivern/Pika saved it from TR, that changed. On the subject of Noivern, it certainly got a good chunk of extra power, holding its own in battle against Zapdos and its confidence grew as well which is nice. Decent episode overall I think.

 

 

 

On another note, at least the episode doesn't have any issues like lost footage, ads, etc.

• No lost footage due to ads, so that's a step up from the last episode. 
• Sometimes I wish that Ash would catch a legendary already (and Zapdos might've been a good choice), but that isn't going to happen anytime soon. Still it was kind of cute that it and Noivern got along afterwards.
  • But yeah, Ash needs a 6th Pokemon eventually if he's going to compete in the league. When he does, it shouldn't be weak to electricity (bar for Noivern [but it's neutral] and obviously Pika, Ash's Pokes are weak to it)

 

 

 

Now to wait for XY106-108 to be subbed (and the latter hopefully will have the missing parts cut out; as I can't find the beginning on Youtube).

In dub news, the Mega Audino episode aired. Alyson Leigh's best performance. We've seen Joys as Judges, fearful Joys, tan Joys, but never a Joy who argues with her partner.

In other dub news that concerns a Slowpoke like myself only, XY&Z will start airing over here in April. How am I a Slowpoke? I found out about this yesterday, and this was announced on the channel's Twitter on the 24th of February.

In the meantime, the 2nd movie will be shown here next Saturday morning. (What next, the channel will show Movie 3 next month?)

XY&Z is airing over here, but as I'm pretty much sticking to the subs now; it's pretty much irrelevant as to what happens in the dub. Then again, I'm still waiting for the Hoopa movie to come out on DVD.

 

As for the rest of the series, if Sun&Moon are on the horizon for new anime (and likely will be), they're really going to have to put a rush on stuff in XY&Z.

• Ash gets his 8th gym badge and enters the league. (By then, he'll need that 6th Pokemon)
• Team Flare arc
• Whatever happens to Serena after the Master Class; will she pursue her goal to be Queen (if she doesn't make it) or stay with Ash until the end of the series.
• Probable post-league stuff (I doubt we'll see the Battle Maison, but who knows?)
• Some character from whatever the Gen 7 region is called will appear with a sample Poke, and sort of link things together.

As for Ash getting Noivern, I probably shouldn't be surprised that he forgot about Alexa's one (it has been over 100+ episodes since it appeared, and Ash didn't know that it was the evolved form of Noibat).

I feel like what happens with Serena will be pretty important. They had SO much shipping bait this series. The dance was AmourShipping the episode. We need to get SOMETHING from all of that otherwise one of the major subplots of the series would amount to nothing.

 

One of the things I feel like can easily happen now is that no past companions show up in XY. It would be a first, but given the 30 odd episodes they have left it might just happen.

 

I believe DP was the only one to not have any Gen 5 Pokemon or trainers from Unova show up so it MIGHT happen again. We do at least have the movie for the preview Pokemon. Plus Ash-Greninja, or what ever that is, might be hinting at a mechanic in Gen 7.

Those poor characters. Its still weird, but I get why they wouldn't bring them back.

To be fair, the only reason why Clemont gets embarrassed because Bonnie never listens to him when he says he's not ready to get married, and surely he's too young to as well, however we don't even know how old Clemont is.

I just thought of something, the title is "Bonnie's Sil-vous-Plait Panic" so perhaps she thinks the woman is too good for Clemont or something. If they are going somewhere with this subplot, chances are it'll be a case of "I'm interested, but not at this moment in time".
