IMO even by manga standard (i.e. vs. other manga) Adventure is a top tier series. It just does everything SO well. I do take issue though when people try to compare the manga vs. the anime since it REALLY isn't a fair comparison for multiple reasons.

I agree, it isn't a fair comparison especially since the manga and the anime handle the plot and such differently, but yeah the way Adventures handles things, they do it very well.

Probably why I like Adventures so much; at least we get to see all of the game characters and stuff in an equal light for the most part.

That, and there aren't too many filler characters (if any) that only come up once.

 

Although, one of my gripes is the speed of their releases (or lack of scans online, because I'm pretty sure we'd all like to read the OR/AS chapter and stuff).

 

There are a few people who'd rather see Ash get booted and replaced with the game characters (particularly Red and all), but indeed the anime does things differently than what the manga does. The manga did have some Pokes getting sliced in half during the RBY arc if I remember correctly.

Back on topic, James' Mom returns after... the return of Jessibelle back in Gen 4. Don't remember which episode.

You can blame 4Kids, the FCC and some overreactive parents for why the dubs are as they are.

This is partly the reason why I don't care for the dub anymore.

Episode 891: A Train Revisited! Clemont and Bunnelby!! (September 17th)

To put it bluntly, this episode focuses on Clemont and reminisces how he met Bunnelby.

Braixen learns Fire Blast, and Serena finally wins her first official battle.

 

 

 

Now that the filler is out of the way, more relevant stuffs next week, like Moltres and Fletchinder evolving.

Since it finally looks like Pokemon is back to a decent upload rate I caught up on the next 3 episodes.

 

Rotom ep felt like it was just made to show off the forms. But like, that episode exists. Kind of just there.

 

The Halloween type episode was pretty good. Jessie definitely got a few laughs.

 

Mountain episode was fine once it got going. The scene with them getting over the hill felt forced but it was cool to see Serena take charge.

 

One of the things I've noticed myself enjoying more and more is Eureka. Her child like wonder is just really fun to watch and because she works off her brother really well. Also interesting since she is VERY different than Max, the other young traveling companion. Other thing I've noticed is that I really enjoy Chespin. Like Hawlucha it has a really strong personality so its fun to watch. Others I've noticed with strong personality are Braixen and Panocha.

 

Raw for 83 (labeled 84) is also out so it shouldn't be that much longer until the subs are out too.

Yeah. A flashback episode. Like how Iris got Axew, only longer.

 

In regards to today's episode it does tread old ground:

 

1. James' youth

2. James' obsession with bottlecaps.

 

Not sure if Braixen does get that new twig.

 

And in the next episode, I'm starting to see a pattern.

 

Tierno's Squirtle evolved into Wartortle.

Trevor's Charmander evolved into Charmeleon.

Does this mean Shauna's Bulbasaur will evolve into Ivysaur?

Braixen does get a new twig near the end of the episode, although it was one she originally rejected in the beginning.

And likely Shauna will have an Ivysaur during her next appearance, or will get one during the episode.

We know from the preview screenshot for the next ep that the Charmander has evolved so its a pretty safe assumption. Not to mention it will keep her even with Serena.

In theory it'd make sense for Shauna's Bulbasaur to be an Ivysaur by the next time we see her, after all Tierno and Trevor's starters are at their second stage.

What we need are two more filler towns, you know, for Serena to get her other two keys. After all, the series as a whole is about to reach 900 episodes.

Whose to say that they have to be in filler towns? One filler town I can understand but there could be a showcase in Couriway or Snowbelle for instance. Though, I kinda get the feeling that the Grand Showcase might take place after the league, and I wouldn't mind that tbh.

Episode 892: Eevee is Shy with Strangers! The Catcher in the Flowers!! (September 24th)

We finally get the Eevee episode airdate.

At least we know when Eevee will show up, so that's good.

 

But yeah, Couriway might have a Showcase once Ash and co. get there. Same with Snowvale (even though the Gym existed, it certainly didn't prohibit a Showcase from also occurring in there). Who knows, maybe we'll get Kiloude Town at some point (Showcase would probably go well there, or the Kalos League, but we'll see)

 

I probably think the Showcase finale will also happen after the league (although whether or not it'll be before any Team Flare stuff, I don't know).

In the anime, Shauna, Tierno and Trevor actually are relevant.

Game-wise, Shauna really does nothing except stand in front of your house after trading.

 

At least Tierno gives Heart Scales + Trevor does Mega Evos to an extent.

I remembered Coumarine City had a Showcase as well as a gym, so it wouldn't be a stretch to have a Showcase in Snowbelle as that has a gym too, but yeah I'm sure there'll definitely be one in Couriway Town though.

And it isn't uncommon for a Showcase/Contest to take place in a Town/City with a gym. Saffron City and Hearthome City are two such examples.

As for where the Grand Showcase will take place, I wouldn't be surprised if it took place in Kiloude City. (forgot that place existed)

 

In any case, the episode should be up in a couple of hours.

 

EDIT: According to the preview for the next episode, Tyrantrum will debut as it was seen evolving from the Tyrunt that we saw in previous previews.

I'm surprised it took so long for Eevee to be formally introduced. We've known about it since April so thats a pretty long time. Also feels like its taking a while to get to the 7th gym, but in reality Eevee's episode makes 14 between which is perfectly normal. I imagine both are partly due to the breaks between episodes.

 

Anyway, at least those breaks have allowed the subbers to close a lot of gap between episodes aired vs. subbed. And on that note, 83 is now up (actually been up for a few days).

I already said that the subs for 83 were up on the previous page 3 days ago, but yeah the breaks are giving them a chance to catch up and we know there'll be a break around new year's as well.

 

I'm fine that it's taking a while to get to Anistar though tbh, so it fleshes out the series more.

 

Although not gonna lie, but I suspect that the Tyrantrum in the next episode might not be captured tbh.

And I would suspect that the ending will have to be updated to have Talonflame instead of Fletchinder, though I reckon it may not. We'll just have to see in 2 weeks.

I'm surprised you forgot about that tbh.

 

I think AZ will probs show up in the eventual Team Flare arc. I'm sure they'll most likely tone down his story though given that it's super dark.

In Dub News, Mike Pollock takes a break from being Eggman in Sonic Boom to voice the old guy Noctowl trainer. But he'll be back as Eggman this Saturday.
