~British Soul~
In case you guys didn't see it already, subs on 69 are out: http://www.anime4fun.com/pokemon-xy-episode-69 Obviously I hadn't seen it since the subs were released whilst I was asleep. Will watch subs after work though. If Goodra leaves next episode, it's going to suck. To be honest, this is the only fully evolved Dragon that Ash even owns, and he releases it (although can probably understand if it's to protect its friends; much like Ash did with Pidgeot back in the original series). Hopefully he gets a suitable replacement, or it comes back later on. I agree, it is going to suck, but if it has to protect its friends, then I guess it can't be helped can it? That being said, someone will be getting a Noibat (according to the ending) so I hope Ash catches it and it evolves into a Noivern then he'd have a FE Dragon-type. Flash Flyer - Sakura
Noivern kinda is inferior to Goodra aside from being much faster; but then again base stats don't really matter in the animeverse. But yeah, would be nice if he got that. Although I could say he catch another Goomy (since he's on Route 14 and there should be a few of them), but the anime and games don't always correlate. I'd say getting Dragalge, but he's far away from Route 8 now. --- Heck, Ash skipped a few spots in Kalos where we'd normally go in-game (see Route 9 / Reflection Cave). ~British Soul~
Actually, the Reflection Cave was seen in the anime, when they had the mirror universe.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
I think I meant the Glittering one at the end of Route 9; got the two mixed up.
~British Soul~
I suppose Glittering Cave wasn't important enough to have featured in an episode for now.
Flame Dragon
Anyway, basically Florges is after the spring in Route 14 because of the Floette (which I assume is in bad condition for whatever reason prior to the episode [or during the events at that time]).But of course, Team Rocket just had to intervene. (Honestly, I'm getting sick of them at this point; where the hell is Team Flare?) If Goodra leaves next episode, it's going to suck. To be honest, this is the only fully evolved Dragon that Ash even owns, and he releases it (although can probably understand if it's to protect its friends; much like Ash did with Pidgeot back in the original series). Hopefully he gets a suitable replacement, or it comes back later on. Although with that in mind, seems that Team Rocket's draining the spring over there for whatever reason and blackmailing Florges. We'll find out their true intentions next week (or in the next 4 days). ---Again, I'd rather see Team Flare already in the series than Team Rocket (although BW didn't have Plasma show up until episode 111 or something, due to the earthquake and stuff). So yeah, there's that. Ending-wise, I like DreamDream a lot more; but GaoGao All-Stars isn't too bad so far.Outside of I THINK Galactic I don't think the other evil team were featured that heavily in the anime. I know Magma and Aqua got some episodes, but they didn't have a ton of presence and I know Team Plasma on'y really did stuff at the end of BW's story. Plasma could end up playing out the same. Personally, what I find interesting is the fact that Lysandre has featured heavily in the Mega story and I would be VERY shocked if the characters from that don't play a decent role in the main series at some point in the future. As it stands the anime has at least 1 more year to get through X/Y story since the next Gen is likely to start late next year if pass game releases are any indication. Add on Ash having his 6th badge come June its very likely the last few months will be post-league stuff like what B/W did.As for Goodra's release, its been obvious since the episode title was announced and with the insane rate its evolved really suggests that Goodra was meant for this specific story arc. Personally, I really like it. Since it's introduction at the start of the year they have done a good job building Goomy's story and this is shaping up to be a good way to close it out. Hell, Ash notes in the episode that every since it was introduced Goomy has wanted to get stronger, and this was that reason. As for Ash no longer having a fully evolved Dragon type, I'm fine with it. I mean, he doesn't even own a Ghost type, Psychic type, Fairy or Steel type, so his only Dragon being Gible is fine with me. Although I could say he catch another Goomy (since he's on Route 14 and there should be a few of them), but the anime and games don't always correlate. IMO it would feel............wrong for Ash to get another Goomy. I suppose Glittering Cave wasn't important enough to have featured in an episode for now.It really isn't that important. Hell, it isn' actually on the main path of the game and I can't remember if your forced to go there, though I feel like you are.Anyway, episode was great. I really enjoy just watching Pokemon interact and the episode had a good deal of it. Ash was also really good and I liked Clemont catch the attacks that hit Goodra. Also, I'm not sure if I' brought it up here before, but I LOVE when the anime uses in-game music. The scene at the end where Ash watches Goomy sleep uses the Pokemon League theme from X/Y and it worked really well.

I will say this though, when Goodra gets released, this will be the least amount of pokemon Ash will have on hand at this point in the region (not long after Gym 5). Kanto: 6 Johto: 6 Hoenn: 5 Sinnoh: 6 Unova: 6 Kalos: 4 (as of XY070)

I COULD be wrong but didn't Ash only have 5 pokemon on hand for most of Kanto? He had, Pikachu, the starters, his bird, and Butterfree. Only other pokemon he caught and kept during that time were Muk, Krabby, and Tauros and I remember them being left at Oak's lab. Butterfree, his 6th, got released pretty early. To be fair, Unova was a VERY different beast with him rotating his team.

He did? I know he didn't have Primaeape for that long. Either way, its only 5 which is still less than the 4 he has now. It will be funny if he DOES get Noibat since it will increase his count of Electric weak pokemon to 4. Also, 3 flying types. I mean, I remember people thinking it will end up with Rocket and that can happen. Pretty sure Serena is getting Eevee.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
We'll just have to see what happens in the follow-up episodes. They'll have to encounter a cave somewhere along the line in order for Noibat to appear; unless XY logic decides to have it appear out of the blue somewhere. Eevee will probably be some wild Poke on Route 15 or something, but then again game locations don't necessarily translate into the anime. Although Route 14 in the anime doesn't appear to be as swampy as in-game, so I could be wrong and might show up on this one. If Ash does catch Noibat, he'll have a pretty nasty weakness to Electric-type moves (Pika's the only one that won't). @British: Yeah, you more/less have to go into Glittering Cave during the run in XY (although I finished the storyline in a couple days, so I forgot the exact details). Yeah, he caught Primeape the episode BEFORE his battle with Erika, but he didn't release until until like 4-5 episodes later. (Can't remember from the top of my head). If he does get Noibat though, it'll cause him problems against Wulfric (even though Fletchinder is neutral to ice).
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Ash will probably get a new Poke that can handle Wulfric's Ice types by the time it comes around. We still have to get through Valerie/Olympia first. But yeah, he'll be screwed since Noivern has a very nasty weakness to Ice. He has Hawlucha to deal with them, yes, but that surely won't be enough. I would probably say it's in Ash's best interest to either get a Fire or Steel type before then; in the former case, hopefully he'll have a Talonflame by then. For latter, not too many options he can choose; besides Aegislash/evos and/or Klefki. Eventually he'll have to catch a Steel type.

Flash Flyer - Sakura
I forgot Pika had Iron Tail for a while. Might help him against Valerie, but likely she's prepared against things that her Fairies are weak to; including that. Eh, I'm probably thinking too much in terms of competitive/type matchups for what Ash should be doing. --- XY070 should be airing soon (or is right now; assuming I correlated Japan's timezone correctly)

Well, Greninja (I'm assuming it will evolve by then) would resist and odds are his 6th pokemon won't be Ice weak. It would be interesting if Ash for a second model flying type on his team. Only other times it happened the 2nd was "left for training". IE: Charizard and Gliscor. ~British Soul~
:( Bye Goodra. Even though we saw your release coming when the title was revealed, it's still sad to see you go ^ Tentative response. The other thing is if he catches Klefki, that'll be his Fairy-type too. Flash Flyer - Sakura
Yeah, that's true (though Ash doesn't have a Fairy-type either). But where exactly is Ash going to get a Klefki? I'd say Route 15, because of the Horde thing, but I don't foresee it to occur. And by the Talonflame comment, I was implying that Fletchinder evolved by the time we see Wulfric (probably will). I've been VERY happy with how the Goomy story arc was done, so I have high hopes for this episode. Its funny, one of the things I learned from Magic is that people love box checking. As in, people really want to see Ash get a pokemon of every type. Thats fair. I read it as you thinking it gets the Fire type when it becomes Talonflame, which is a fair mistake to make since the starters don't gain their second type till their fully evolved. Also, totally random question, how good is the D/P gen of the anime? Like, I just found out it had a massive 8 episode arc with a ton of characters and it kind of blows my mind. Add on Ash evolving most his team fully and him making it to the top 4, it seems really strong. And another thing I really haven't thought about while reading up on this is that Ash doesn't have a rival in this gen. Honestly, between the slow team build, a sibling pair joining him, the 3 way split of the starters, and the lack of a primary rival, XY has a fair bit in common with RS/Advance

I've been VERY happy with how the Goomy story arc was done, so I have high hopes for this episode. The Goomy story arc has been well done, I'd almost compare it to the Larvitar arc from Johto (the difference being that Ash didn't actualy catch Larvitar) Also, totally random question, how good is the D/P gen of the anime? Another thing about Diamond/Pearl series is the contests (Jessie finishing top 4 in the Grand Festival, Dawn coming in 2nd), that's also quite good as well. Not to mention Dawn developing as a coordinator and learning from past mistakes (ie double performances). Episode 878: A Best-of-Three Rival Battle! Aim for Tomorrow!! (June 4th) This episode will feature Shota and his Treecko. I'd be interested to see what else he brings to the table. While I might not have watched D/P, everything I've seen gives me the impression thats the case. I'm honestly unsure of B/W though since I have this feeling that it was a step back for things in some regards. Would be really interested in watching them both, but at like 300 episodes it a HUGE time commitment and I'm not a huge fan of the dub and not THAT interested to watch subs.
