Astro Dude
And caught up on the subs. I really like James. He is good people even though he is part of Team Rocket. Well yeah, the guy has his moments: From discovering he flunked out of Pokemon Tech to joining a bicycle game, finding out he was from a rich family, his trainee days and now ripping off the Ash giving up Pikachu moment with Inkay. Dude's got an amazing track record. Like the time he bought a Magikarp, falling in love with a ghost, among other things. Nah, his sixth slot will most likely go to Charizard, since everything seems to indicate he's going to Mega Evolve him into M-Zard Y. The merchandise never lies. That would be cool. ~Faytl~
That would be cool. That would be boring and predictable. Honestly, Ash doesn't NEED to have Mega Evolution; Being the main character does not mean he has to have the ability to use Mega Evolution, and giving it to him is, in my opinion, a bad idea, as it just gives him a powerhouse shortcut that's far less interesting than him actually working at it and using strategies in the vein of the Countershield and Rock Tomb Climb. The Countershield's creation was one of my favorite aspects of the Sinnoh saga, because Ash showed real growth doing it, which Mega Evolution probably won't. Also, we already got Charizard in B/W, it would be silly to bring it back, especially since it gives him two fire/flying types and a HUGE weakness to electric and Rock types on his team. I can understand people implying that Ash will be able to use Mega Evolution because of certain merchandise of Pikachu and M-Zard Y, but for all we know that doesn't necessarily mean that Ash will use it. Also let's not forget that he'll be getting a powerhouse in the form of Goodra at some point anyway and that would give him more satisfaction that taking a powerhouse shortcut. The Countershield thing was one of my favourite parts of the Sinnoh arc as well because like you said, Ash showed real growth doing it and besides he doesn't need Mega Evolution as we know he's good enough to defeat a Mega without using one himself. EDIT: Wild new episode title appeared! Episode 864: Into the Badlands! Fight, Goomy!! (February 19th) Also the Pikachu movie that will accompany this year's movie is known as Pikachu & The Pokémon Musicians And we have a preliminary plot for Movie 18
On his way to becoming a Pokemon Master, Ash and his companions continue on with their journey. On their way, they arrived at a Pokemon Center in the desert. While having donuts during their rest, a mysterious ring suddenly appeared behind them. A hand stretched out from within the ring and grabbed the donuts. "Wait!" Ash shouted. Clinging to the hand with Pikachu by his side, they were pulled into the ring, which immediately disappeared into thin air. Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie were left behind and taken aback by what happened to the two. "Appear~!" Ash and Pikachu were sent flying out of the ring. Noticing the sudden change of scenery, Ash became confused and confronted the culprit. "Ishishishi! Are you surprised?" "What are you?" "Hoopa!" Large towers appeared in the distance. Ash and Pikachu had travelled through the ring and teleported to their destination - Désert City. Meeting with the mysterious Pokémon Hoopa for the first time, what is the true identity of this Pokemon? What is the mysterious power behind its rings? Ash, Pikachu, and Hoopa's adventure begins to unfold!
Astro Dude
And it appears in the preview of the next episode, Ramos will appear, thus making it two episodes.
~British Soul~
Ramos appearing in the next episode (Which confirms they'll be in an albeit frozen Coumarine City) certainly is something noone saw coming tbh. Also, the 18th season of the english version will start to air in the US on February 7th. The title for season 18 isn't known yet. Care to explain why they'd go out of their way to produce that oddly specific merchandise in the first place then? I mean, what other reason TPC could have to release an entire product line featuring the mascot of their multibillionaire cash cow franchise and the Pokémon most heavily associated with the protagonist of their ultrapopular (at least in Japan nowadays) animated series alongside the Mega Evolution of one of their most beloved and promoted characters - who just happens to be another of the aforementioned lead's signature mons - who, coincidentally, hasn't been officially featured in the anime or given much exposure within any of the franchise's many extensions beforehand, in contrast with its cross-game counterpart, who already appeared as the main partner of the main character of an animated special non-canonical to the show AND who actually is aligned with it? And do you honestly believe they would really miss the chance to promote even further one of the main features introduced and exploited in the current generation by making the face of one of the company's flagships use it for real? Besides, I seriously doubt Ash will be using Mega Evolution that often; his pride as a trainer wouldn't let him use it against someone who doesn't possess the same ability. And probably there won't be many trainers capable of Mega Evolving their mons in the anime aside from the Mega Evolution Specials and maybe the Kalos Conference or a possible Team Flare plotline finale, so the mechanic won't be abused to point of losing its whole appeal (or so I hope, at least). Flame Dragon
I feel that the Zard Y-Pika combo is more so just a combination of two of the most popular pokemon and doesn't necessarily need to hint at anything in the anime. Remember, Charizard has always been on of the most popular pokemon which is why it has 2 Megas, why Charizard was the Pokemon to carry over from Pokemon Trainer into Smash 4, why he was featured during the 2014 Pokemon Worlds, and why they made a 3DS with him on the face, why he has a statue with Pikachu in the Japanese Pokemon Center. He is easily one of the top 5 iconic pokemon, possibly number 2 based on how hard they push him.tl;dr PikazardY could be them hinting at something, but it could also just be because Charizard is insane popular. Personally, if they used it well, I'd be cool with Ash getting access to Mega Evolution.

To be fair, Charizard is one of the most iconic/popular pokemon of the franchise, so why not make merchandise combining it with Pikachu. I'm just saying that just because it exists doesn't necessarily mean it's an indicator of what will happen in the anime, I mean sure there's a chance, but at this point we just don't know. Personally I don't think Ash needs to have Mega evolution.
Flame Dragon
Watched the Goomy episode. Its cute. Not a huge fan of the new intro theme. Its fine and all, but High Volt was just really good. Interested in what they are planning to do with the Treeko kid. Based on the intro it seems he knows of Ash's past adventures which will be interesting to see brought up.And, you know, I don't get why people don't like Ash. Dude jumps in the way of a Shadow Ball in the episode. He isn't a bit dim at times, but he's a really likable lead. Also, shows need an "Ash lunges to catch/protect a Pokemon" counter
Astro Dude
Finally. And the title is Pokemon the Series XY Season 2. My guess, they ran out of creative titles.
~British Soul~
And the title is Pokemon the Series XY Season 2. My guess, they ran out of creative titles. OR as the article (that I found this found this news on) says, it's merely a placeholder title that the official Cartoon Network website is using as the actual title hasn't been confirmed yet. EDIT (Thursday): Wild new episode appeared; ft Emolga and Pachirisu Episode 865: Protect the Future of Science! The Labyrinth of Electricity!! (February 26th) Someone's science experiment must've gone wrong then... Also, apart from Ramos appearing, not much of relevance happened this week tbh. Astro Dude
Actually, Team Flare seems like the only logical option. Think about it: In the games, who was it that hijacked the power plant? Aliana, so she must be using a device that controls electric pokemon and drain away their energy. I don't think they're the ONLY logical option because the way I see it, is that it could be Team Rocket that's doing this. I reckon Team Flare will have their own arc like Team Plasma did in Best Wishes.
Flame Dragon
What I find interesting is that fact that Lysandre has already shown up in the Mega Evo specials and we know he is Flare's leader. I figure they will do something with this and it will be cool to see when it finally does happen. The question is when and how Flare will be brought into the story. Also, we know that the events of this series have coincided with the mega evo specials, like in the first one when the Kid (Manon I think it was) talked about the events in Lumiose City with the Garchomp going berserk. Another thing is that I think that they're delaying Team Flare's insertion in the series is because Lysandre is currently in Hoenn, but it's not like the team can operate without him, I just don't see Team Flare appearing yet. I certainly thing they can show up without him since the villain team leaders normally take a little to show.

Astro Dude
And to be fair, this is Team Rocket we're talking about so Jessie and James might not have the tech for this. Cassidy and Fartman on the other hand. Butch: REALLY?!

I don't know, it's been like 300+ episodes since they last appeared (Then again Clair reappeared in Best Wishes after 500+ episodes since she last appeared back in the original series). I just don't see them reappearing anytime soon.
