Ofc it's going to play out like the Petalburg Gym. Have you forgotten Ash was kicked out of the gym in the first episode?

Imo, I'd rather the match have an actual conclusion rather than how the first two gym matches ended in Season 1

I'm pretty sure Ash has legitimately won all of his badges since season 1 so that shouldn't be an issue.

If you're talking about him legitimately winning all of badges "after" season 1, then I'd agree, and it shouldn't be an issue at all.

Regarding the instances I mentioned, he didn't actually defeat the gym leader's final pokemon but still got badges through his actions.

Also the first details of the upcoming special, Mega Evolution III, due to air in Japan during Spring 2015, have been revealed thanks to a leaflet from Namco arcades in Japan. The summary is as follows
Alain continues his journey to master Mega Evolution and stand on the top as the strongest. Together with Steven, he pursues the legendary megalith that disappeared together with Mega Rayquaza. During this search, he receives information that Groudon has suddenly appeared in the sea. Alan and the others hurry to the location in question, where not only Groudon appears before them, but Kyogre as well. Furthermore, Rayquaza descends from the heavens and a grand battle between the legendary trio begins! What will this mean for Hoenn's future!? Will Alan and the others even survive this!?

EDIT: Trailer for the movie that was shown on Oha Suta not so long ago:

EDIT (Thursday): Blah blah blah... Froakie evolved, blah.

Trivia: This is the first time a Water-type start has evolved under Ash's ownership

- Also this is the first time since Round One - Begin, 777 episodes ago that a Water-type under Ash's ownership has evolved.

That's what I said. If they ever battled, Alain would use Mega Charizard X and Ash would use Mega Charizard Y.

Also, between now and the second movie premiere, three pokemon will evolve:

Clemont's Luxio becomes Luxray, Serena's Fennekin becomes Braixen and Jessie's Pumpkaboo evolves into Gourgeist. How that worked without trading it We'll never know. And who gets a Noibat and Gothita?

I was gonna ask for proof but then I saw the poster on Serebii. I'm guessing the Snorlax and Florges are randoms in the Pikachu short.

Weird how Goomy isn't on this poster even though we know Ash is getting one.

I think Serena will get Gothita and Clemont will probs get the Noibat.

EDIT (Monday): Within various TV guides in Japan, a couple of New Years specials have been announced. The first special is due to air at 6am JST on December 31st and is called A Complete Showcase of Legendary Pokémon and airs for two thouse, then straight after at 8am, for an hour there is the Pocket Monsters XY 1 Hour Special. This special is said to be a lookback of the last year of the anime, including many famous scenes and intense battles. At the end, there will also be a large showcase of content from future episodes.

Finally got around to watching Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction. Went with the dub because I didn't want to read subs for over an hour especially since unlike watching a bunch of anime, you don't really get breaks during the viewing.

Anyway, good god, was the dubbed edited to hell. Like, I don't think they cut anything major (I think its around 10 minutes or so), but the editing was really choppy and easy to spot. Movie also felt really empty. Like nothing happens for most of it, the climax is pretty short, and things resolve way to fast. Pikachu getting petrified was manipulative as hell since it lasts for all of 30 seconds (I get why this is the case, but its still bla) and was kind of spoiled by the various images we knew would be in the movie. The villains were also weak, not helped that we had 3 (4 counting Team Rocket) and we knew nothing about them. On the positive side I liked Diancie and Ash came off well as the lead (a fact made extra nice by the fact that I wasn't 100% on how the dub had been handling him, so it was nice to see this). Side from that, we had a bunch of cute scenes, but really not much else.

I think with my winter break (read finishing of college) I might go and check out the other movies since I stopped watching them some time in the 3rd gen and I'm curious how they compare.

I thought all of the DP movies were quite good tbh.

Anyways... despite falling off the Skiddo, Serena was still able to win the race anfd I think her mum was ok with her following her own dreams. (Will obvs wait for le subs though)

Was also watching the preview for the next episode, and you thought 1 Malamar was bad enough, how about 3-4 evil Malamars. Yeah there are more to deal with. The episode's got to be epic for xmas though.

I know Bonnie for the Defence will be shown in America on Saturday, on Sunday it'll be shown over here in the UK.

Although one thing that has sprung to mind is that we don't have english titles for the episodes that follow Bonnie for the Defence, and I'm guessing it's because the next episode is the first episode of XY Season 2 in english.
