Astro Dude
I meant Sanpei's Greninja. Also, Sorry, just got up, so really there's not much to talk about without spoiling anything.
~British Soul~
I know you meant Sanpei's Greninja. To be fair there really isn't much to talk about anyway given the next episode is just under a week and a half away.
Arctic55
To be honest, the pokemon TV show is repetative. I watched every episode up until Black and White, Then as it started, I quit. I could predict the whole episode before the plot started to really develop. Yea, they threw in a curve ball or two, but more of the same old same old. So, didn't watch most of Black and White, and not gonna watch this. Oh yea, and Fairies? WTH were they thinking? Ok... I guess it's ok... WHAT IT'S STRONG AGAINST DRAGONS! kill me now. Not cool, NOTHING is cooler in pokemon than dragons. NOTHING COMPARES!!!! DARN YOU!!! I'mma never watching this useless piece of ---- again. Flame Dragon
Fairy as a type is purely a game balancing one. Dragons were broken as hell, Fighting types were VERY good, and Dark needed another check. The reason for Bug resist is purely competitive because it helps with U-Turn. The same is true of the types that resist it since poison and steel are HORRIBLE offensive types up since they were only good against things with tons of weaknesses already. Yea, they threw in a curve ball or two, but more of the same old same old. So, didn't watch most of Black and White, and not gonna watch this. I remember the original 90s anime.. My familiy and I would watch it lol. I'm kind of embarassed about lots of things but .. I'd legit love to re-watch the pokemon series from episode 1 onwards. I stopped watching and playing the games after Diamond and Pearl, which is a shame as I'm missing out on the last 7 years. Just like how I never used this forum acc until long after 2008 when I registered it x.x Hmm, are the new games and the new anime series decent? Flame Dragon
Gen 6 has been amazing and I've really enjoyed the XY anime. I'd recommend both.
Flash Flyer - Sakura
Anime-wise, it's worth watching (though there are a good amount of filler episodes between gym badges). Would advise watching the subs if you'd like to keep up to speed with rest of us. Games aren't bad, but just note that Fairies are a new typing (you may wish to apply the Psychic type logic from Gen 2 here; also resistant to Dark/Bug and deal 2x on former/Fighting, but weak to Poison/Steel). Or just read Flame's post above; also, some moves have been decreased in power; others boosted (and we have Mega Evolutions). ---- @Arctic: A lot of people didn't like it either so it's understandable, but there's a reason (again, Flame mentioned it but reiteration helps) Since Gen 1, Dragons really had no checks besides Steels, and even then, they'd usually carry a Ground move like Earthquake to deal with said Steel type (or Fire). They did retcon some older Pokes to have this typing, and while I don't agree with some of the Pokes that got retconned or a few of the new designs, they're here to stay so no use complaining over it. I didn't like the Fairy idea at first either, but I got used to it over time. Dragons are still dominant; just that they've gotten their power toned down a bit so they don't cause players to ragequit. (Then again, Rayquaza got itself banned from Ubers lately, so that should tell you something) If you don't like the type changes or anything from Gen 6, then don't watch the series / play games anymore, since all of these changes are effective as of the XY generation (or more accurately, active as of October 12, 2013). It's already clear that the changes brought on by XY won't satisfy everyone who's a fan of the franchise, but there's no point getting mad over it a year into its reign. Astro Dude
Thanks Mr. Sakura. I'm really looking forward to next week's episode. Plus, another confrontation between mother and daughter.
~British Soul~
In the meantime, Pokémon Get☆TV is going to show a short bit of footage of next year's movie on December. Although we might have info about it in CoroCoro. (Which will pretty much likely to get leaked before then).
Astro Dude
Maybe the next movie will star that volcano pokemon. You know, the fire/water type. Speaking of, how would a grass/fire type work?
~British Soul~
Given the pokdex order, my guess is that it'll star Hoopa. Speaking of, how would a grass/fire type work? ... *murdered*
Flame Dragon
Maybe the next movie will star that volcano pokemon. You know, the fire/water type. Speaking of, how would a grass/fire type work? Grass/Fire is a good type actually. Grass loses Bug, Ice, Fire weakness. Fire loses Water and Ground weakness. Weak to Rock, Flying, and Poison. Resist Grass x4, Steel, Fairy, and Electric. Given the pokdex order, my guess is that it'll star Hoopa. ... *murdered* It most likely will be Hoopa. ~British Soul~
It most likely will be Hoopa. I agree, not to mention the event pokemon in movies have appeared in chronological dex order (Meloetta did appear in the short before Keldeo's movie). Astro Dude
Alrighty then, Hoopa it is. Just wish we'd see the Fire Water type first.
~British Soul~
If they were the other way around in the pokedex, then yes we would see Volcanion first. t-minus 4 days till Froakie evolves though. Also, the episode that was shown in America yesterday will most likely be shown here next Sunday.

~British Soul~
That's like next week though, besideswe have Frogadier to look forward to before the clash between Serena and her mum (even though the latter does serve some importance as well anyway). Well, seeing as how we know the line up for the next like 2 months we know we have a bunch of sweet stuff incoming. Hell, we have the gym battle with Clemont coming in the not to distant future too. To be fair with the focus that Serena will be getting, I wouldn't mind a longer gap between the Coumarine and Lumiose Gym battles tbh.

I'm expecting a fair gap given how soon we are getting the 4th gym battle after the 3rd. My guess is like April. A ways a way, but the fact that they will be battling soon is kind of cool I think. It'll certainly be a good battle considering the amount of time they've been travelling together.

And this being the first time Ash has battled with someone after traveling with them since Misty. That however came really early though so this should be interesting. Have you forgotten Ash was kicked out of the gym in the first episode? Imo, I'd rather the match have an actual conclusion rather than how the first two gym matches ended in Season
