I know it doesn't really warrant mentioning, but in this week's episode Ash caught the Hawlucha

Now we have a 2-week wait for the next episode but we (Japan) has the Diancie movie to look forward to.

To be fair, we get the special next week so its not like we won't be getting pokemon.

Gotta say I wasn't expecting Ash to catch a Hawlucha. But it's a welcome capture, it surprised me. It's especially nice that it seems to have a similar disposition to one of my favorite Pokemon Ash owns, his Sceptile. Plus I'm glad Ash finally caught something for the first time in ages. How many episodes has it been since he caught Fltchling?

Though he's not as bad about that as Serena...

Anyways we have new episode titles

Episode 842: Pokémon Summer Camp! Enter the Rival Trio!! (August 14th)
Episode 843: Serena VS Shauna! PokéVision Showdown!! (August 21st)
Episode 844: PokéEnteering! The X in the Mist! (August 28th)
Episode 845: Team Battle! Competing for the Hall of Fame! (September 4th)

Yup, it's another Summer Camp arc (like the one in DP), and this when Shauna, Trevor and Tierno will debut. I will admit though, I didn't see this coming at all.

Oh boy, the rival trio is appearing. Oh joy. I am so happy.

...

Well they were present in the new opening, so it was about time they made an appearance.

They also have the Kanto Starters with them;

Shauna & Bulbasaur

Tierno & Squirtle

Trevor & Charmander

EDIT (Friday): Just finished watching the Diancie prequel (5m 30 in length) which had been added to the official Pokemon YT channel.

So... this week, Ash's Fletchling evolved into Fletchinder and learned Flame Charge, although the first appearance of said Fletchinder was a cameo appearance in the movie which came out on the 19th. (Although Ash's Hawlucha would've also made its first appearance in the movie if... well we know what happened)

Speaking of the movie however, it was the first time an Elite 4 member made an in-person cameo, in this case it was Wikstrom who was battling Diantha during the World of Pokémon intro. And like Siebold in the mega evolution special, Wikstrom also had a pokemon capable of mega evolving (Scizor)

The other thing to note in this week's episode is that Fletchling and Hawlucha are both unable to take part in sky battles in the games.

I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack.

Okay, also interesting to note regarding the new episode is that Bonnie never once proposed to Nami on Clemont's behalf/dismay.

Next week, have you noticed that mirror world Serena hates Ash as much as Misty did? Think about it, the mirror world is where personalities are flipped. Everything we are, our mirror world selves are not. If this was applied to all anime, Sailor Moon's mirror world self would be as courageous as Rambo.

Meh. i cared as much about that as I did when Coolspy got perma'd

tbh, I paid more attention to the fact that Ash shouldn't have been able to sky battle at all until Fletchling evolved.

Also, with Siebold and Wikstrom's appearance thus far, there is a pretty good chance of Drasna and Malva appearing as well.

I'd like to see how they'd pull off Drasna.

It's not gonna be that difficult at all.

Also, I know it's minor (and I certainly did not notice it whatsoever), but in XY029, the title card in the english version focused on Ash instead of Clemont.

Japanese -------------------------------------------English

200px-Title_Card_XY_Clemont.png - 200px-Title_Card_XY_Ash.png

(I know that isn't helpful whatsoever, but an error is an error)

Furthermore, not counting the sneak peek of the series, XY029 had the shortest time ever between the premiere of the Japanese version and the english version; 41 days.

Seems the next episode features Trevenant. I wonder if Ash is going to catch it? He always has a Grass Type, and it's not like he has a lot of options for those, especially since Pumpkaboo and Chespin are already taken by main characters. Only other option would be Gogoat, and Alexa already owned one, so I doubt he would.

http://www.gogoanime.com/pokemon-xy-episode-37 (Here you go, Flame)

Episode 36 still has no subtitles at the moment; not even Spanish ones on Youtube.

As for 37, I enjoyed the episode as well. It was interesting to see a mirror version of Ash/rest of main characters (instead of the usual determined and sure of himself Ash, we get a mirror one who is timid and cries when he loses, shown when he loses to M-Serena). The same could be said for Mirror Hawlucha; wasn't as agile as real one + had to be saved by it. Team Rocket pretty much acted the same in mirror world as they do in the real one, except they actually got Pikachu (which real ones haven't been able to accomplish for, what is this now, 17 seasons and going). On another note, either M-Serena is more direct in wanting Ash to be her lover (as opposed to most of the female leads), or she just hates his guts. (Mentioned on Bulbapedia, we'll see if that's true or not when it gets subbed).
