SMITE is the online battleground of the gods. Players choose from a diverse cast of deities and use their unique powers to triumph over the opposition in 5v5 team matches. SMITE is a new take on the MOBA genre; rather than observing from above the action, the game’s third person perspective puts players into the thick of combat. Instead of clicking the mouse to move, players use the familiar WASD keys to move and fight their way through SMITE’s dynamic battlegrounds.

Be a God

Cut through your enemies, encase them in ice, or drown them in a vortex of souls. Assume direct control of your godlike avatar and experience the MOBA genre up close with the game camera directly behind your character.

Choose from a long list of well-known and more obscure gods, each with their own history, special abilities and unique play style.

Tactical Gameplay

Master and use your godlike abilities to fulfill key roles such as damage dealer, tanking, crowd control, and support. Explore the map and defeat NPC enemies for increased gold and buffs that help both you and your allies. Then deny your opponents victory with perfectly-timed stuns and calculated ambushes.

Mythical Setting

Two teams of 5 players fight to slay the opposition’s Minotaur on an inferno-themed battlefield. But first they must contend with three flaming Phoenixes plus Cyclops NPC camps and the legendary Fire Giant in the jungle.

Power Up

Within a single match, your god levels from 1 to 20, causing your abilities to gain strength. You can purchase in-game items and consumables to benefit your god and complement your personal play style – whether it’s buffing your Magical power, Physical power, Defense or Utility capabilities.

Calculated Strikes

Every attack in SMITE is a skill shot that you control. Ranged attacks are carefully aimed, melee attacks properly positioned, and Area of Effect damage must be ground-targeted. Predict your enemies’ movements and hit your mark for maximum effect in fast-paced combat.

Free-to-Play

Everything affecting gameplay in SMITE can be earned simply by playing the game. Players have access to an initial set of playable gods for free, while additional gods are unlocked through gameplay time or more quickly through micro-transactions. Cosmetic skins can be purchased for further customization.

My first game I just chose Ra because I was familiar with him from the tutorial, plus everyone else I wanted to try was taken.

But this time I played Hades, and I gotta say, he was really fun. I'll definitely play him some more.

It sounds to me you're liking the mages. I couldn't blame you. Ra is a beast, and can be amazing when played as a powerful mages. He's also got incredible sustainability with his Solar Blessing. He's so good people make Ra-Bot reports.

I went to a local tournament and managed to bag myself Ao Kuang's gem-skin as a runner-up. I do enjoy mages, a lot.

Lately though I've been more inclined towards tanks, particularly Sobek and Vulcan.

When I get the chance I'm going to get Ao Kuang's festival dragon skin, that things looks awesome. Ao Kuang is my new favorite. I like his decent sustain and Tornado is pretty darn awesome, especially for killing mobs, which goes well with the Book of Toth and Warlock's Sash that I buy when auto-buy items is on. Also, his ult deals so much damage, it's glorious.

Also, is it just me or is Loki OP as s***? Like, no matter what god I play he can just pop out of nowhere and kill me literally in the blink of an eye. In one Arena game the enemy Loki went 48/0, and we won with only 4 tickets left because everyone else on his team sucked in comparison. In the last Conquest game I played, the enemy Loki got 3 Deicides. He wiped our entire team 3 different times. And that doesn't happen just because of skill difference, it's definitely Loki.

I'm having SO much fun playing Smite. I've only won a handful of games so far (Mostly cause when I play Hades and use his 4, my own teams runs form it and lets them kill me >_<) If anyone wants to add me, my name IGn is Maxxion.

As far as Loki OP, he's mode of an endgamer in my experience. Early on he's kinda hit and run, and kinda relies on jungling to get that exp. But, with an item to slow down enemy movement and lower cooldowns, I'll get doubles and triples all day endgame. I've been favoring Zeus, he just seems consistent all game, and in arena matches his lightning storm is just balls, especially with a Poseidon or Hades on your team. On that note: POseidon is pretty balls, he's got LOTS of crowd control. I want him.

Poseidon is definitely one I plan on buying, since I like the Greek/Roman gods. I've played Zeus a few times, and I quite like him as well.

I get A LOT of stupid people who just stand there when I use LIghtning Storm, so they get hit 3-4 times by it, then I hit my 3 and -poof- they're gone. xD I've been told I should try Fenrir, wonderng if I should get him or Poseidon first. ALso: Add me >:U

So far through testing out Chronos I have been able to find that he can be played incredibly in Mid Lane due to his high sustain. He's also got plenty of fast-paced damage potential. You'd be surprised how handy his Ult. is.

However in practise, said Ult can be easily f*cked over, so you need to know your timing if you're gonna crack it open.

Nowadays everything is determined by your Jungler. If you don't have one, you better hope you can resist their ganking powers. If you do, pray to one of the many available Gods that he's good, because he needs to be dishing out those ganks when necessary.

You actually don't need one in SMITE, and most game modes don't have an option for that anyway.

I played it in the closed beta, and the melee characters almost got zoned and ended up losing their lane against casters, is it still this unbalanced?

>trying to fight melee against a spellcaster

>Spellcasters outrange you BY FAR

Nothing to balance there, just stop fighting people who out-range you, unless you have a leaping attack or something.
