Obnoxious Celtic Guard

Recommended Posts

When I saw this for the first time in those tins back in the day, I was greatly impressed by that design.

Players that just wanted to make their monsters big would never be able to get around it. So it was essentially an OTK stopper.

Instead of super powering combos that took off advantage, a player needs to put a weaker monster in play, which is totally fair. It happened to me in the past that I'd have this along with something like a Blue-Eyes, and my opponent got into a predicament. If they were to Summon that monster and equip it, they would kill Blue-Eyes but be unable to take down Celtic, if they took down Celtic, they would leave a weak monster out and lose due to low life, and completely aware I hadn't used that Trunade/Heavy yet.

It also happened that a player would have those Attribute Field Spells, and could not possibly match the requirements because of it, and were like "I'm screwed. I have to heavy/breaker myself eventually.."

I love how it has a built-in way to kill it naturally without the need of lots of destruction in your deck, but it still did it's job when you needed it.
