Blake
[Advanced Format is bad and you should play Traditional not Advanced] I mean... they fucking banned Fishborg Blaster as an example.. which is not OP at all.
Lonk
to be fair, Fishborg Blaster has easy to do Quasar Loops, especially when combined with Big Fish.
vla1ne
It's not completely his fault, but he's pretty close to being a plague spreader for water decks. on it's own he's not that broken, but there are a lot of ways to abuse him using water deck engines (frogs come to mind here). still though... he should at least be at 1 imo. Kingdom Xathers
Not being once per turn had a hand in his banishment. And then, there's Atlanteans....
vla1ne
And then, there's Atlanteans.... ...And thus, all hope of blaster returning was drowned in a torrent of meta.
Superdoopertrooper
Should go to 1. His interaction with Atlanteans isn't that great. I mean boo hoo, they get to pop a card with marksman or infantry or w/e when they special summon him. Hardly game breaking.
Toffee.
Fishborg only became an issue because we had both Formula and Librarian@3.See, this card is both conditional and makes Synchros a -2(discards lol), but when you factor in the above cards, you start making pluses off what should have been more of a minus....I'm disregarding Atlanteans for this post, btw. Sora1499
If only he were once per turn. But since it's not, stay dead.
Parsee
Bring it back, Coelecanth becomes a problem, and Atlanteans get another thing to toy around with. Keep it banned. It was bad enough @1 in the previous, slower formats- god knows who'll come up with new uses for it.
mido9
Yknow I think I'd actually rather see coelacanth take the banhammer over it. That card is just asking for trouble.

It was bad enough @1 in the previous, slower formats- god knows who'll come up with new uses for it. It was never @1, it went from 3 to 0. Coelecanth isn't that great either and no deck using it would be competitively viable, even if we get a meta nuke for next format, which a] might not happen and b] there are a bunch of other decks ready to fill Prophecy and Dragon Rulers shoes if they do get hit, like 3-Axis Fire Fist and Mermail/Atlantean. Parsee
Ah, yeah, I meant from three to one. I do hope to god there is a meta nuke.
Aerion Brightflame
This is the actual problem. I thought the problem was that it wasn't OPT... I also loved how Trooper glossed over Dragoons in his interactions with Mermails, given that's the biggest interactions Atlanteans have. OT: It's another member of the club of cards that would be balanced with a OPT restriction on them. It's simply that facet of thing that prevents it coming back, it in itself is completely balanced with that restriction on the card. Atlanteans can justify it not coming back, but they are shitty design anyhow, and at least Dragoons deserves the hit as well. Not to mention Big Fish is probably worse design than this is in all honesty, in the same vein as Super Rejuv, in that it is waiting for something good to come along and break it again and again. -Berserker-
This is the first card I actually ABUSED before it was banned. A Johnny like me shouldn't be able to summon 2 Quasars, a Trishula or Scrap, and draw the entire deck during the first turn. I am sad because I cannot use it, but happy this was hit and not Seaking. This was banned by it's own faults, but it's due to the Atlanteans that it will not return. I still want the TU version, due to shinyness and new text. L0SS
This is the first card I actually ABUSED before it was banned. A Johnny like me shouldn't be able to summon 2 Quasars, a Trishula or Scrap, and draw the entire deck during the first turn. Basically this. If a card can set-up moves like that, get it the hell out of here. Trooper seems to overlook the main uses and interactions of the decks that could put this card to use. -Berserker-
But of course, back then I could also use several Librarians and Avarices.

Regardless of if it was competitively viable or not, Konami is not going to purposefully bring back an FTK. And you only ever needed 1 Fishborg to do all the crazy shenanigans, since it reused itself over and over.
Not-so-Radiant Arin
This thread was designed to lure SDT into a false sense of security, wasn't it? Please stay dead. I mean, really. This is one of those cards that can never see the light of day again. It's just too abusable in a variety of different situations. Gishkis, Mermanteans, Fish.dek...the list goes on. Mehmani
Have some fun - get rid of Seaking and bring this back. There are far worse things running around and bursting through walls than this.
