Astro Dude
Does anyone remember the famous Disney series Ducktales, a show which lasted from September 18, 1987 to November 28, 1990? Most of you were too young to remember but when you were kids you did watch reruns. There was a lot of merchandise released, even a video game which was released in 1989:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYuqB2BPkz4 Well, if there are any Ducktales fans out there on YCM I have great news:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=00Z86j_MJDY That's right, Ducktales, the video game, is BACK after more than 30 years. Capcom and WayForward have collaborated to remake a classic game from the late 80's. An improvement to the original with 2.5d graphics that'll make your head spin, remixes of music from the game stages, plus rumor has it that this game had some of the original cast from the show back to repriese their respective roles like June Foray as Magica and Alan Young as Scrooge (Not an easy feat considering how old the show was). This is a game for die hard Ducktales fans old and new alike. And this could be the beginning. Who knows. Maybe Capcom will partner up again with WayForward and they will remaster other games from Disney Past like Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck. We can only hope. So strap on your adventure pants and let the nostalgia flow cause after more than three decades, Ducktales, the video game, has returned, and it's better than ever. Phantom Roxas
Wait, so whenever I was watching it, those were just reruns? My whole childhood is a lie…Naturally, that means I never played this game, but it looks really good from what I've seen. Definitely getting this on the eShop when I have the chance. Astro Dude
Awesome. Ducktales ran for three years, but the show was popular enough to have it's own game. You couldn't expect it to be like Pokemon and keep going for so long. And like I said maybe in a few years they'll remaster Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers and Darkwing Duck. Though finding Michael Bell, Jack Angel and the guy who voiced Moliarty would not be an easy feat, but wouldn't it be cool that, instead of Steelbeak, the final boss would be Negaduck? But that's getting off topic. Here's something for the fans: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lfPCySGCq_U An IGN interview. And http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TKwC95Yxo0 Gameplay from the Amazon and Transylvania stages. Cool huh?
Robmandude
Sweet, Ducktales was such a great show and compared to the droopy trash Disney puts out these days makes me so glad I was a kid during the end of the previous millennium. This games looks good
Astro Dude
It is a remake. And, this maybe speculation, but when I said some of the original cast came back I was right. Apparently they couldn't find Joan Gerber to repriese her role of Mrs. Beakley so they went with Wendee Lee. I gotta say, it must be an honor for her to work with June Foray, who wouldn't consider it as such considering Lee works in anime.
Astro Dude
bump: the game is released and prepare to relive the nostalgia all over again, or for the first time. You thought the theme for the Moon in the original game was great? You haven't heard anything yet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4leksPobqRQ Oh yeah. Take it in. Review is here: http://www.toonzone.net/2013/08/ducktales-remastered-video-game-review-ps3/ Also June Foray is 95 years old, making her one of the oldest living va's ever. 95. She outlived Mel Blanc.
