Just Crouton
One of Frank Miller's works, and a very entertaining one. It's a part of DC's version of Marvel's Ultimate universe. The Goddamn Batman in ASBAR is a violent madman who antagonizes everyone, especially Superman and Hal Jordan, and abuses Dick Grayson, Age 12. Everybody in this series is crazy. Everybody. In a way, most of the characters from what I can tell (is the New Earth version of Hal Jordan a tad stupid and Plastic Man nutty?) are exaggerations of who they are in the main universe. The dialogue is crazy. Hilariously crazy. I only have the first graphic novel, and am looking for the rest, if they exist. It's also raised my interest in reading The Dark Knight Strikes Again. It feels like Frank Miller is parodying modern Batman fiction but taking the material seriously (the good kind of parody) instead of a "this part is parodying this aspect of the source material now laugh!" parody. But analysis aside, the comic is really funny, intentional or not. It's a crime that the Frankster hasn't finished this comic. Frank Miller. Writer. Artist. Hasn't finished ASBAR. Mr.Robot
Goddamn this book (pun intended). Anyway, Jim Lee's the artist and being one of DC's Co-Publisher, so it's a no brainer that he's stalling his work on ASBAR. Anyway, you should read Kevin Smith's Batman run. It's every bit as goddamn as ASBAR and Batman actually admitted that he peed himself once.
