A deck based on getting out Dark Magician. Throughout my testing, I've mostly been able to get out Dark Magician on my first turn and then explode my opponent's backrow. Considering removing the other Dark Magician-specific cards and replacing them with more Lighten the Loads/Trade-Ins for draw power.

I'd rather use the E-Hero Prisma engine for this.  E-Call/RotA into Stratos, grab/summon Prisma, then dump a DM to change Prisma's name.  Makes it easier to use the DM support.

 

If you want to do that, I'd make the following changes:

 

-1 Warlock

-2 Dark Magician Girl

-1 Lighten the Load

-2 Sages Stone

-2 Defender

-2 Double Coston

 

+3 E-Hero Prisma

+3 Skilled Dark Magician

+1 Stratos

+1 RotA

+2 E-Call

 

And throw in a Dark Paladin in your Extra to actually use Prisma.  And Find room for Envoy of the Beginning as well.  In addition, you can also use things like Call of the Haunted/Birthright/Swing of Memories to bring back DM after a Prisma dump.

I prefer that but using Summoner Monk.

Summon Summoner Monk. Dump a spell card to SS Prisma from the deck. Dump Dark Magician. Xyz into Emeral: "detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, target 1 non-Effect Monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target." and bring back the Dark Magician

Summoner Monk + Any random spell = A decent/okay 1800 attack monster and the Dark Magician on the Field.

-2 Herald of Creation

+2 Summoner Monk

+3 Daigusto Emeral in the Extra Deck

No offense to Jabber, but I like Hatcher's build much better - mainly because I'm sick of running E-Heroes (I have 12+ deck variants) and would prefer not to splash them into a dedicated Spellcaster deck. Thank you both for your advice.

what program are you using to build those decks?

Dueling Network. It's pretty neat, and you can duel others with the decks you've made as well. I'd recommend Yugioh Pro/DevPro if you're new to the game though, because Dueling Network isn't automatic so you need to know a bunch of stuff about rulings.
