Need help rewording a cards effect

Im not sure if this is the right place to put this, but im trying to word an effect but how ever i try and write the effect, it seems really stupid, can someone help me out?
 

NOTE: this is not how ive been wording it on the card, this is  just describing how the effect would work

 

the effect im going for would let the card once per turn destroy a monster in the same column as it is in, and if there was no monster in the column, it would destroy the card in that column in the spell and trap zone. finally, if there  are no cards in the column on your opponents side of the field, it would attack directly

 

well, that was a mess. Can someone help me reword this?

It's okay. Everybody has trouble with OCG. Here:

 

Once per turn: Target 1 monster you control; destroy it. If you control no monsters: Destroy 1 Spell or Trap you control. If you control no Spell or Trap cards; this card can attack directly.

thats close, but i meant in the same column on the oponents side of the field. and just in the column its in, not the entire field. but thanks, that did help a little.

Once Per turn: This card can destroy any MONSTER card on the same column. If no MONSTER card exist you can Destroy one Spell or trap card in the same column. If no monster/spell/trap card exist (doing this cuz it would be OP) pay 500 life points. This card can attack directly.
