Ken, Korean DJ, HugS, Dr. Peepee, Hungrybox, Pewpew U, aMSa are the ones I recognized of the players. If the characters are going to be selected through draft, I bet Ken'll be disappointed if he doesn't get Marth.

Glad to see they got an array of female players in there too.

BEST OF ALL. Prog and D1 as announcers. I love those two. AND f***ing GEOFF KEIGHLEY?! ARE YOU KIDDING ME NINTENDO WOAAAAAAAH!

Also, pic of the day:

"A first look at the bottom screen for Super Smash Bros. 3DS. The players personal name will appear above the characters damage percentage.

Clicking on the characters on the bottom screen will cause them to be highlighted on the top screen. This makes tracking yourself or other players much easier if needed. "

I heard somewhere the 3DS version was coming out on July 18, but I haven't seen any official conformation, so I don't think that's true (it would be pretty cool though).

Also, I wasn't even going to get it at first, but it coming out sooner than the Wii U version is making me want to (will still get for Wii U because my brother paid for Mario Kart Wii and 8 and I paid for Brawl, so it stands to reason I'll be buying SSB for Wii U).

Oh I hope so, that would be wonderful. Cause that's a couple weeks from my birthday, I won't have to buy it myself most likely.

There's no way I'm missing this one.

That's actually my birthday, so it'd be releasing on my birthday if it did on that day.

I was informed it'd be weird to mention it'd be cool and not to mention why.

Keighley's a really good reporter. Which is a shame because GT doesn't ever let him do reporting.

He interviewed Reggie last year and questioned him about how shittily Nintendo was doing at the time. When he got a non-response, he questioned Reggie further on it. It seems a little dickish, but honestly, he was just trying to get Reggie to give an honest answer instead of the normal nintendo schpeal we always get.

Anyway, I'm excited. It's clear that neither party wants to be on bad terms with each other, and Geoff is a great guy. I'm actually pretty excited to see how he does. Him alongside Prog and D1 is gonna be killer.

The problem was when he was talking to Microsoft, got even less of a response, and proceeded to suck their dicks.  Consistency would be nice.

Did Microsoft straight up deny that they had a bad financial year and say that everything was peachy when it's clearly not?

They had issues with the One's drm stuff, but they didn't say something like "this is what gamers want" when talking about it.

Reggie straight up acted like nothing was wrong with Wii U sales.

They avoided the questions entirely and Keighley backed off immediately.  Did you actually watch the interviews?   Also, it'd be pretty fucking retarded to, as a spokesperson, say, "Yeah, we're in dire straights, all of our games suck and we're probably going under."

But really, did we watch the same interviews?

He didn't have to say that they were going under. He just needed to acknowledge that they had a bad year. Which Keighley kept pushing..

I did not see the Microsoft interview, no. I was rather hoping you'd link to the one in particular you're referring to. My comment on Microsoft was based on their overall stance at E3 that year, not the specific interview.

But there's a big difference between avoiding the question and straight up giving a false answer.

Both are spokespeople.  They pretty much have to give the best possible image of their company.  People were giving Microsoft way too much shit at the time.  My problem is Keighley treating each interview differently.

Yes, but he also got Mattrick to say "If you can't get access the Internet, you can get a 360."

I mean, if I were a reporter in that situation, I really wouldn't feel the need to push it. Like, you can tell he's only laughing along to like the dumbest things. He pointed out the dumb things. "So your message is: buy a 360?"

He asks about the issues everyone is concerned about and either got an answer like "this is what we think is important moving forward," or Mattrick, in something Reggie DID NOT DO, he actually ADDRESSED the fact that people were upset about what they were doing. Or he said something that was obviously dumb, whereas Keighley just let him talk. And in that situation, just let him get going, those soundbites are gold.

And again, a lot of the things Microsoft did that people opposed are actually things that a lot of people either liked, or assumed were just GOING to happen. Even if people are upset about it, it doesn't necessarily make Microsoft wrong for doing it. Mattrick offered some valid, albeit disagreeable points.

Reggie straight up ignored the fact that the Wii U was on hard times.

Like idk, yes, Keighley is going at the interviews differently, but Mattrick and Reggie are also dealing with two different problems, and dealing with them in two different ways. Keighley was rough with Reggie, yes, but he was trying to figure out whether Reggie understood the Wii U was in dire straights. With Mattrick, it was obvious that they were having issues, Mattrick acknowledged those issues, said some dumb things which Keighley immediately called out, but he didn't straight up ignore anything. He spun the story, yeah, but saying something like "I think that gamers will come around, they just need to see it in action" isn't factually wrong. It's just a dumb thing to say PR-wise.

"Pic of the day. Here's Ike, Marth and... a brand-new stage!"

"We've added a familiar setting from the Fire Emblem series, the Coliseum. In the original game, this place is filled with both hope and despair. There is machinery in the ground that activates variable platforms."

Looking at the first picture, I know Japan likes their androgynous male protagonists, but seeing Ike compared so closely to Marth makes the differences kinda ridiculous.
