Image of the Day: Something about the characters always being mirrored or something. More importantly, Red Greninja. they also showed alt colors for Kirby and Bowser and they're basically just like they were in past games with just the simple color change. :\

I hope this mirroring thing doesn't mean they put Samus's cannon on the wrong arm. :\

The mirror thing makes sense, it felt weird looking at the back of some character's heads when they were facing a certain way. And Sakurai's post says, "some characters arms and leg positions" to obviously take into the fact some characters have specific things, like Link being left-handed and Samus's cannon as you pointed out.

Also, I've realized something I really want; Smash Bros. version of Team Plasma grunt theme, pl0x.

I never remember them doing it and/or likely didn't notice.

Speaking of character colors...
I swear, they are saving Megaman's for last, if only because they can taunt the ever living hell out of us.
Like, they could have anything ranging from Box Art, to Captain N, hell, even 'Megaman?' from Powered-Up.

I like that team battles no longer locks your colors and instead only gives you outlines. Also makes me hope they are doing more cool things with the coloring this time around.

Remember outlines are in the 3DS only, as far as Sakurai has said.

This, basically. I didn't like some color swaps in Brawl and being locked into them with team battles were a minor annoyance.

So yeah, this is a neat change.

HEY GUYS SOME BREAKING NEWS (apparently)

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/05/22/nintendo-france-rep-says-smash-wii-u-will-use-nfc

The Wii U Smash is gonna be using the NFC figures Nintendo recently announced in some way.

What do you think it's gonna be?

MORE IMPORTANTLY: A GAME CUBE STYLE WII U CONTROLLER IS IN THE WORKS

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/05/21/gamecube-inspired-wii-u-controller-in-the-works-for-super-smash-bros

"The Wired Fight Pad is licensed by Nintendo and works with the Wii and Wii U consoles, plugging into a Wii Remote controller (like the Classic Controller or Nunchuk). PDP says that the GameCube-inspired controller will work with Wii and Wii U (including some Virtual Console) games that are compatible with the Classic Controller and Classic Controller Pro."

(sorry if I'm late on both of these)

Since I have a 2DS now, I'm actually considering pre-ordering this.

Is it worth it? By that, I mean is anyone else getting this for the 3DS?

Thinking quite a few would want to. I mean, just look at the release dates.

I'm getting both on account of having both systems, liking the Wii U's graphics more, not wanting a boat load of games, and probably not being able to wait for Wii U.

I've been thinking I've gotta have opportunities to take it as a portable thing, and man has there gotta.

Oh, and that Gamecube styled thing. Not surprising that it's being made, especially after a good deal of Smash info has already been released, considering the popularity of the thing, especially when it comes to Smash, for some pretty good reasons. I'd probably use any other controller there'd been an option for over it, but it's still a very good thing for the system.

Another thing I'm pretty hype for is the new ergonomic grip for the 2DS coming out on the 26th. I've always loved those; makes you feel like you're holding an actual controller. One thing that'd come in handy for a fighting game.

Also debating whether or not I should pre-order it at the same time as I buy Link Between Worlds, which I'll be getting on my next payday.

Remember that they talked about NFC as being able to not only be read by the gamepad/etc, but also to be able to send, receive and store data.

One possible use could be in those custom move sets, being able to store them from your Wii U in an NFC figure and bring them to a friend's house to use on their system.
