Tourmaline
5$ says the Blue Shell deals like 100% to the player with the least percentage. It makes the opponent with the most stocks and least damage flip in the air and yell like an idiot until everybody else has more stocks and less damage than them. Sounds as punishing and humiliating as the real Blue Shell.

Tentacruel
I probably wouldn't have gotten the 3DS version, but Summer -> Winter? Well played Nintendo. Well played.
Nicο
I was planning to have gotten both versions just so I'll have a freaking amazing game to play on the go and on my huge TV that we somehow have, this still works out pretty perfectly because the portable version does seem like the one I would rather have first as I am getting them both. Not sure why the only other game I'm currently interested in is Mario Kart 8, but that sure means it won't be that much of a problem for me. Oh, and I never did say anything else about the direct. In terms of characters being confirmed for anything, I was most surprised by Greninja, but quite obviously, the most excited because of that. I couldn't tell right away, although I remember seeing something about "shadows" before noticing, and that actually made me think Dark type Pokemon, rather than Ghost type move, but well, I understand whatever either way, I don't want to get into that because that talk is over and done with. Could have been the name of the video I saw due to me being late and all, probably that. I see absolutely nothing wrong with anything they announced, although I actually played as R.O.B. and Game & Watch a lot. So at some point, I would really like to see one of them come back. Not R.O.B. though. There's much less reason for him than anyone really. I think.
Agro
I probably wouldn't have gotten the 3DS version, but Summer -> Winter? Well played Nintendo. Well played. This is why I don't think people who were complaining that this would kill the Wii U are dead wrong.- There are those who would buy both, so it doesn't matter.- There were people who were only going to buy the Wii U version. But most of them, like yourself, probably won't want to wait to play it.- There are people who were only going to buy the 3DS version. Nothing's changed there, but the opposite wouldn't have done anything. The people they may lose out to the 3DS version are those who are only going to buy one, but weren't sure and now may just buy the 3DS version, especially if they may not want to buy a Wii U. Tho dat HD smash, thoThe other argument I saw was that kids who get the 3DS version may get told by their parents something like "we just bought you bought that game, no." In which case, I'd argue, this is a few months later on a different console. Chances are parents will either not consider them the same or realize that Smash is the best competitive local multiplayer series ever created and hand in either case, hand it out as a requested gift for the holidays. Also, I should point out that this could still be like latest part of summer vs earliest part of winter, which may not amount to more than 2-3 months. That's a difference, obviously, but a lot of people may just wait for it.
Shradow
Summer is certainly earlier than I expected for either version, and I've seen people say that even if it was released on the very last day of summer right before fall, they'd still be happy that it beat their expectations. Tons of people have a 3DS, but few have Wii Us. So people will buy the game on the 3DS and be like, holy crap, I want to play this on my HD TV with a ton more bells and whistles. This gets them to go out and buy the system.
Agro
If the Wii U version comes out before Thanksgiving, I'll be satisfied. Shradow
Now that I've calmed down after all the excitement of Greninja and other things, my favorite part of the Direct was definitely the online play stuff. I already said For Fun/For Glory is genius, and I love the idea of being able to report those annoying players I always seem to run into in SSBB's online (I pray that Palutena Temple replaces Hyrule Temple and New Pork City, it actually looks like an interesting large stage). I imagine it'll also simply be better and not lag-ridden, which would be amazing. Stage choice is probably the main reason I want the WiiU version, though admittedly the HD graphics are right there with it.
Toffee.
Hey guys.... Since you can, for the most part, use the same ID for both the WiiU AND the 3DS(I'm using different ones; lel), you actually can boost your 'Power Level' at home AND on the go. Since, you know, it's basically the same game for different systems. So level yourself up with your friends at home and wherever you take your 3DS. - There are those who would buy both, so it doesn't matter.*Raises hand*Yea, I'm likely going to end up doing that. Tourmaline
you actually can boost your 'Power Level' at home GEE WHIZ ARMZ, I WONDER WHO FIRST CALLED IT THAT Also, I'm getting scared thinking of how scary fighting an amazing Little Mac would be. Like, he seems a lot scarier at a really high skill level than most characters.
Shradow
I feel at the higher levels Little Mac's poor recovery will only become more apparent, so I'm not worried about him. It's highly skilled Rosalina players that I'm worried about.

Any kind of direct gameplay using the touchscreen would be very forced IMO.

Flame Dragon
They could do DLC characters. I mean, the 3DS is more than capable to do it. Problem is people will likely data mine the game and find them long before they officially announce them.
