I do want to say though that I don't think 1.1.3 was the last patch.  I hope that whoever is doing the balance changes continue to do so even if Sakurai is truly done with smash 4.  Having a relatively active balance system would be just what the game needs to last for another year or two before it actually begins to feel a bit stale.

We'll, we know there will be a 1.1.4 at least. They always update when a new DLC character comes out.

The update that drops in February is likely to be the last update. It take a lot of resources to keep updating a game even just to make minor balance changes and I don't see them doing so after the last major update. I think with that the game will do fine for life span though. IMO it is easily the best smash game and as far as party games its one of the best.

Snake is not happening.

However for any of you who follow Etika he actually made a pretty good point. On the Smashbros website, when you look at the DLC characters, all seven are arranged in THE MOST VISUALLY CRINGING FORMATION POSSIBLE, as if there is something missing from the picture.

Additionally, the four characters on top are all newcomers, while the 3 on the bottom are returning vets. This leaves an awkward white space at the end of the block where, seemingly, a 4th returning vet should go. With Star Fox Zero delayed til march, and Wolf being confirmed to appear in that same game, February (when Corrin and Bayonetta are scheduled to drop) seems like the perfect time to reveal Wolf and build hype for Star Fox Zero.

However this is all based on the notion that the orientation on the website does in fact mean something and isn't just the designer making the worst design choice possible. Because when I stare at that webpage I slowly begin grinding my teeth at the though that someone actually believed that was OK.

What IS with these people and Wolf?! We have CLOUD for God's sake and people go 'I wanted Wolf'. He's not even that different!

Lemme stop you right there. Fox, Falco, and Wolf have one thing in common, they're spacies. They share the same physics properties but that's about where the similarities end. Maybe he seems like more of the same, but if you actually take the time to play them, you'll notice the differences. Seriously, try them.

So are Doctor Mario and Mario. And Pit and Dark Pit. And Marth, Lucina, and Roy.

And yet they always get screams of 'clone!' Why does Wolf get a free pass?

Wolf is already in the game31382Wolf.png :Kappa:

And Fox's customs are basically Wolf's specials.

He's not even a clone, he's derived from Fox. He's like what Ganondorf is to Captain Falcon. Captain has always been an aggressive rushdown character, but Ganondorf is too slow for that, so instead he has a more bait and punish kind of play style. I honestly don't give enough of a s*** about Brawl to know the difference in play style between them but again, he's not a clone, he's derived from.

Also, I know I can make Fox sort of Wolf with customs, but the voice...

FIYER!

We both agree on FIYER!!!

Well, what makes a clone? I mean, Roy is an aggressive rushdown while Marth is a spacer, with Lucina being waifu (I don't understand her waifu status... She's more like a daughter...)

Doctor Mario is more hard hitting while Mario is combos.

Pit is Dark Pit while Dark Pit is Pit.

I am honestly not sure what you mean by this spacing stuff. Like, nothing looks off.

No one can look at that and say that "nothing seems to be off."

I can think of at least 3 different formations that actually would have made sense from a design standpoint; at least moreso than that garbage.

If this doesn't mean anything than Nintendo needs to get a new web designer for the smash site cuz this is ridiculous.
