The thing is almost every major tournament has been won by Shiek. EVERYONE plays Shiek. If you want to win a tourney, there's no reason to pick anyone else unless you don't know how to play her.

I know that scene and history more than well enough. I would still rather a Meta Knight won an SSBB tournament than a chaingrabbing Ice Climbers.

The thing is, Sheik doesn't actually need that much tweaking.  She needs some hitbox modifications on Fair to reduce its ridiculous combo AND kill potential, give her Fair, Nair and Jump a bit more landing lag, give some of her tilts a bit more lag in general, and there you go.

That will still be a top tier character, but it won't be in dominate S.  Fair is honestly the biggest problem.  Yeah you could argue needles, but you could also just do your very best to shield them cuz they have absolutely no stun anymore.

They've continuously nerf'd Shiek since the beginning. She should probably get more lagon her aerials, but I think it'd be fair to give her back some kill potential in bair and upair. That's her problem. You take away her combo game without giving that back and I dont think she's even all that viable

That's a really shitty comparison to ZSS and Shiek, like wow

I bought Marth, Dark Pit, and Little Mac a few days ago as well. I had Shulk and Greninja before...but that's when I bought them from a vendor at Otakon. For $39.99 each.

Even though it was an apparent ripoff I just wanted the rare ones that might not get reprints. I was wrong...Apparently the same vendor is at NYCC selling the same amiibos with the new Yoshi Yarn, Classic Mario, and single Mix Fighters, all for overblown prices. Even Dr. Mario is effing 30-40. Do not buy their amiibos.

First rule of conventions, everything is overpriced. But! You can haggle!

I had seen an old Mechagodilla toy and the owner wanted $30 for it, got it for half due to my experience in bartering.

As for why Shulk isn't Level 50 yet . . . wanted him and Lil Mac to be last.

It's pretty variable how vendors at conventions can sell their products. Of course the stuff is hard to come by but most sell things like PVC figures and outfits at fair prices, while others are undesirable.

I even saw a Splatoon Inkling Boy amiibo sold for probably around $60-80. I'm dead serious.

An Inkling Boy Amiibo for $60-80!?

No thanks. I will barter or buy it if I have never seen it before. Well, I mean that's my policy for anything Godzilla; most of the things I buy at conventions are something I generally haggle over.

Also, I have Shulk and Li'l Mac with their three special badges, and are now balanced- now to get them to Level 50.

Yeah apparently the best thing to do is train them up until Level 50, in whatever way you want:

Personally

Via another Amiibo

Using a Level 9 CPU

etc.

Once you get them to Level 50 put them up against a Level 9 CPU of the same character, three stock, with no items on Final Destination.

Keep having the Amiibo fight the CPU until they can beat the computer FIVE TIMES in a row; anytime they loose, reset the count. This helps the Amiibo learn their move set, range, etc.

In order to have them beat other characters, do the same things as training them against the Computer, just with different characters. They learn the opponents' moves and everything else.

I've managed to have my Fox beat his CPU and everyone on the top two rows five times in a row without loosing. Once I have Fox be able to beat every character five times in a row with no items, I'm going to put on items in order to have them learn how to use items properly, then go through everyone again, and then finally start adding in other Level 9 CPUs to fight.

When an Amiibo can take out three Level 9 CPUs in a 1-on-3 battle, then I'll be impressed.

That really helps a lot for my training. Normally I just mirror match all the way to 50 and see how it goes. Frankly it would be nice to teach my amiibos how to deal  against things like counterpicks and over-defensive characters. I normally don't have too much time to train amiibos but I'll definitely take your tips in consideration~
