So I actually switched mains from Roy to Shiek this week.

Best player in the state called me a sellout 8D ... But at least I didn't scrub out again.

For exactly one week of practice, I think a 9th place finish behind most of the Wisconsin PR (and ahead of a small number of them) is perfectly acceptable.

Winners Round 1: Vs Luigi W 2-0

- I'd beaten him before in a Roy vs Villager rather handly. He had a new main this time, but I just played keep away until I could kill him.

Winners Round 2: Vs Zelda L 2-0

- Good friend of mine; Number 6 or 7 on the WI PR; We teamed in doubles today and I'd been doing well in friendlies, but I ended up losing 2-0 in close games.

Losers Round 2: Vs Lucas W 2-0

- Needles are my best friend, and I just spammed them all set.

Losers Round 3: Vs Pikachu 2-0

- He was consistently making the same move with Quick Attack into F-smash without mixing it up whatsoever and he always spammed thunderjolt when returning to stage from the top corners. Essentially, he made himself easy punish fodder and died several times to rando-bouncing fish punish.

Losers Round 4: Vs Ganondorf W 2-1

- Needled and combod him into killing range and only gave up a game because I SD'd on a kill attempt for no good reason at low%. I was at 0% on second stock for a looooong time each game because of how well I was keeping him away. If I wanted to, I probably could have just needled to time every game. lol

Losers Round 5: Vs Pikachu L 2-0

- I'd beaten the guy before at my old biweeklies, but he's definitely improved and I'm really rusty on the not sheet-tier Pikachu matchup. He mixed up his moves and I didn't know how to punish as Shiek. Probably should have gone Roy for this one. He had been upset in winners by a guy that ended up getting 3rd, so I assume he was playing with a purpose. I'll have to improve to beat him. He was where I thought I was at this game, competitively. I don't want to lose to him again.

They could have a section of the background be making things... idk. of course there's already a stage in the New SMB style so just having omega forms of SMB and SMB3 is neat.

That's amazing :D FOR 3DS TOO YES THANK YOU!
Wait is it something that needs to be bought or...?
I don't see the logic in having DLC that isn't for both versions... don't think that happened yet, and only the Miiverse stage was free (like an exception), so for stages... I imagine you'd have to pay for this and pretty much any others that come.

I do enjoy the continued DLC support for this game.

Same here man, same here.

That looks like a really fun stage, if only I played non-Omega stages a lot.

Why not? Having random stages that aren't just "Final Destination" is the added spice to the game!

The items are that extra ingredient you didn't know you added (83)

I find they take away from the action too much. I'm ok with some, but I like minimizing it when possible. Though this is mostly in 1v1s. In 4 man battles I don't care that much.

i love variation on my stages, but within reason. for example, great cave offensive is a stage that deserves a special place in stage hell, but hyrule castle, when you're not playing somebody that runs around all day is simply divine for adding a sense of scale to a 1v1 fight.

that said, this new mario maker stage is going to be glorious and hell every single time you choose it.

Honestly it would be funking sweet as hell if there was like a "Competitive Mode" on it.

Like it has set, fair blastlines, and still randomizes every stage, but it removes things like hazards from the pool of possibilities so a stage like this could actually be considered for tourney play.

It would be such a hype stage pick.
