Just got back from my locals, lol.

Got 3rd in Doubles, which was nice because it was my first time playing doubles. Teamed with one of the two guys I knew the best at my locals, who's a Zelda main that just happens to be in the WI power rankings. Got several quality wins, two of which were streamed, so I'll probably post those in here once they get uploaded. Otherwise, you can watch it here starting at 1:23:00: http://www.twitch.tv/eventhorizon/v/13429786

Singles I scrubbed out HARD. Lost in winners to a Meta Knight that came out of nowhere and ended up making it all the way to Winner's Finals. Lost in losers to a guy that I never imagined losing to in my life. Got one win out of that, though, so it wasn't the worst, I guess.

That's interesting, a friend of mine (who is currently the best Smash player I know amongst all my friends) was just telling me he picked up Meta Knight as a new main because of his speed and good setups for kills. So that's cool to see he's starting to make a small comeback when everyone initially forsook him after being neutered.

Were your locals arranged by people you know, or did you look them up and enter yourself?

Meta knight is still kinda meh. His moves are fast and everything, but his only viable kill moves are Shuttle Loop at the top of the screen and down b, which doesn't actually kill til crazy percent. His F Smash can kill reliably but it is super obvious since the move is very wierdly slow. It comes out rediculously quick but it has a few startup frames before he actually swings. Granted Shuttle loop at the top isn't even hard since you can just Up air string them to the top and use loop to finish it, but so long as you don't fall into those shenanigans he can be beaten rather easily, assuming equal skill level of course.

In other news, allow me to tell a story. I was just on For Glory trying to improve my Falco as I really like how he plays. I met someone who was literally the worst Marth I've ever seen. I beat him twice by a fairly decent margin. I like to play best of 5 on for glory Cuz most of the time people don't actually switch characters until game 3.

Well he switched. To Falco. And what did he do? He rolled to the far edge and spammed lazers. Any time I got close he would back throw me off the ledge and try to sweet spot the Dair and spike me. He did it once. Then I took his first stock. At one point then I was charging a firebird just below the stage, and he dropped in for the Bair stage spike (which was the right move). However I teched it, and immediately went to Phantasm to the ledge, assuming he would jump into it and be spiked. However he jumped onto my head just before Phantasm came out, footstooled me, landed perfectly on the edge, taunted, and then T-Baged the ground over and over until I actually died since Fire Bird has no diagonal range, as if that was all just as planned. He then takes a million years on the viewing results menu so he can save 86 replays.

Ladies and Gentlemen. I present to you Progenitor's step by step guide on how to deal with cheeky kids on For Glory.

1. Switch to Little Mac

2. Combo the sheet out of whatever ass character he picks.

3. Whenever you aren't attacking, nudge the control pad/stick back and forth slightly to do what I call the Mew2King Marth Tango.

4. Finish the game with D-Tilt > Fair > offstage Fair > Jolt Haymaker.

5. Save a replay every time you win.

6. Repeat this process for every counter pick he could possibly think of until he quits.

It took him 8 straight matches to quit. 8 straight matches of a Little Mac Tangoing around you while absolutely destroying you and making sure to only finish every match with an offstage Jolt Haymaker or a KO punch. Take all that pride and throw some salt on it, the proceed to slowly HIT IT BAYBEH until it's just salt rocks

What about the off chance he picks a character that he will purely range you with, and do nothing else?

Bonus points if it's someone like DeDeDe, Falco, etc, who can "interrupt" you.

Because he's a cheeky For Glory kid who doesn't know how to effectively camp.

He went Falco > Spam Falco > Samus > Kirby > Marth > DeDeDe > Something i forget > Lucas > Quit.

Nah, mang. This is all wrong. He would use Ness over Lucas. Ness' W+M1-esque style is pro as funk

What I don't like about the 3ds version is I don't have a new 3ds, and usually I'm used to using up to jump. Therefore I like my tilts on the c stick so I can up tilt and up air without jumping. Since I don't have a c stick though I have L set to jump and up to jump off (I've always put a Jump on L for things like short hop Dair where its too hard to flick up then downs)

I don't have a new one either... I used one and holy crap, it's so much easier to do tilts on one.
