I don't mind Palutena's Temple with non-competitive friends since we're just trying to have fun anyway. We only ever run away because it's funny, not to actually win. Usually we have the timer off for stuff like that.

It's always fun to play the stages that are close-but-no-cigar to being legal like Skyworld, Kongo Jungle 64, Gamer, Pilotwings, etc.

Then there's that one dick that chooses Yoshi's Island. Fuck that guy.

Timer does help on stages like the Temples.

Yoshi's Island does indeed suck.

What do you have against Yoshi's island? Is it Randall?

The blast zones are super close
The way characters bounce around can be super dumb
The center pit is a troll trap
The blocks above can easily stop a character from flying away.

Of all the horrible stages its the one you're most likely to assume is fine, but nope, it blows.

That's Yoshi's Story, kid.

I like Yoshi's island because of tech shenanigans without the stage fucking you over like Skyworld.

Also it's easy to camp on either side.

Also it's the only shitty Yoshi level. The original Yoshi's Island was fine if it didn't have the clouds way off on either side. Wooly World is big and the platforms in the sky are in no way fit to play on, but it's not a shit show like melee Yoshi's Island.

I still don't understand why Skyworld isn't legal yet Halberd is.

*Fixed. Halberd is still legal as its hazards are deemed fairly easy to avoid.

Skyworld has a cave of life, and, when broken, base platforms with no grabbable ledges, as well as a platform below that can be used for camping.

Skyworld also has the issue of being able to fall through the floor if the platforms are broken. I know its one of my friends least favorite stages period in Brawl and I totally get why.

Ah, I just realized I've lost one of my favorite replays due to the update. DL, it was the one with my Ganondorf against your friend's really good Pit, and I made an epic comeback from a 2 stock disadvantage for the victory.

Is it possible to escape from a good enough Sheik's short hop fair combo, or am I just bad? Usually I don't have that much trouble with Sheik, but the other day I faced who has to have been the best Sheik I've ever faced, she was able to wombo combo me across the stage with ease, and it seemed like no matter who I was or what I did it was completely inescapable. I've had it done to me before, but never to such an extent where I couldn't do anything about it.

I like the project M solution: make the main platform unbreakable and get rid of the rest of the platforms.

Lurking YouTube again:

The "syke," I'm pretty sure is from this video. The greatest grand finals in the history of smash bros.

If they do it well, it's a true combo, yes. And the worst part is, double fair to bouncing fish is also a true combo, depending on opponent DI.

Then it's not a true combo, lol

It's a true combo if your opponent doesn't DI perfectly.

He still is not able to airdodge or do anything, but DI can be applied even while in hitstun

So DI can save you from combos, such as dthrow to uair

However in most situations you can read the DI, but due to Bouncing Fish being so linear, it only works if they DI...up I believe.

But for it to be a true combo, you have to be theoretically able to hit it no matter how they DI :>

Not true in the slightest.

A true combo is simply when you get 2 or more hits where the opponent cannot perform any actions.

A great example is bouncing fish, of course, where Sheik's fthrow is a true combo at low %s, if they DI up.

There's no changing that fact. It's a true combo. If you DI up, you WILL be hit 100% of the time.

If you tell me that ain't a true combo, something is wrong with your analysis, Agro.

The only difference is that it goes from "True combo after reading opponent's DI" to "True combo based on opponent's DI"

But you have to add the extra words. If it's a true combo, there should be no if's

But it's still a true combo, albeit situational.

Because if the conditions are met, it's a true combo.

There's ifs in any true combo somewhere. Like how dthrow to uair with ROB is a true combo at low to mid percents
