if the sound files are anything to go by, we'll get Roy and then Ryu from street fighter. And of course, everyone's just expecting Wolf and Ice Climbers at this point.

But was anyone expecting Greninja? Was anyone expecting Duck Hunt? Was anyone expecting Wii Fit Trainer? Was anyone expecting Bowser Jr? Was anyone expecting Lucina and Dark Pit to not be pallete swaps? Was anyone expecting Lucas to be DLC? Was anyone expecting Dr. Mario, R.O.B. and especially Jigglypuff to return?

 

For all we know, Nintendo plans to add Roy and Ryu out of their own choosing. The voting goes on untll OCTOBER. It is currently APRIL. Unless the votes are THAT heavily weighed toward Roy and or Ryu, I think they aren't the only DLC characters left, and aren't the winner(s) of the contest.

 

Plus, Nintendo OWNS the righs to the Bayonetta series now. Not to mention, yes, she's from an M rated game, but so was Snake.

 

 

Finally, unless they can solve the problems they had with Ice Climbers on the 3DS version, which Sakurai said is the only reason they aren't in Smash Bros 4, OR he makes them Wii U exclusive, the Ice Climbers won't return. Wolf, as I said, WE DON'T need three of the exact same character.

I don't suppose said line is available on a Saturday, right? Work days like today, I usually get home around 5-6, and then other stuff happens/etc that eats up time until 7-ish. So I can't at the moment.

I think their lines are open on Saturday, but I think they close at 6. Check the Nintendo main site.

(And no, having references via Fox's Custom moves doesn't count; Most of his non-Specials were different anyway, as well as his wight, speed, etc. Also consider Ness has references to Lucas in some of his Custom's but we're still getting Lucas)

 

Also, I heard there were changes made to certain characters, but does anybody know what those were?

I misread it. I thought you were ADDING On that Wolf = Fox, not that JORD though Wolf= Fox.

Either way, my point stands to whoever things Wolf = Fox.

After another long session with Yoshi's Story, I can confirm once again that Yoshi's Story is still the worst level ever.

I like Yoshi's Island :/
The sheer insanity that can happen there with 8 players is pretty much always hilarious to be a part of.
 
I'd say my least favorite stages are 75m and Wiley's Castle. Former's just not fun to traverse and I freaking hate that yellow giant.


75m is also REALLY bad. Its just too big for its own good.

Size isn't its problem. It's that it's just a collection of a billion super small platforms with springs that seem to instakill anything in their path and random other hazards all over.

Those are likely more at fault than the size. For me, the size just makes all those things that much more frustrating. Also the stairs can get really annoying. I mean, I love the idea of the stage, but in practice is sucks.

I always thought people hated that one Donkey Kong stage and Pyrosphere. The new one, I mean. Heck, I heard they were tournament banned.

Most stages are tournament banned, but there are always different reasons for each: Stage is too big (Palutena's Temple), killbox is too big/too small (Tomodachi Life ceiling), platform placement promoting camping (Kongo Jungle 64), hazards (Mute City), walk-offs (Wii Fit Studio), caves of life (Hyrule Temple), no main platform to play on or anything else that takes away from the focus of the match as one player's skill versus another player's skill.
 
The new DK stage was banned because it was too big, going back and forth between areas promotes camping and running away, which lengthens games past how long they should go and is generally just playstyles the competitive community tries to avoid. Pyrosphere has Ridley, lasers, and the slug things, which are hazards that take away from the 1 v 1 going on on the stage. It's legal in 3v3, 4v4, and even some 2v2 (if tournaments have a 5th player use the gamepad and suicide immediately) as if you get 5 or more players on the stage, all of those hazards go away. It's the same reason Pokémon Stadium 2 is legal in squad matches.
 
The OG DK stage has any number of problems, specifically: it's too big, there isn't a base platform to play on, but are instead a bunch of smaller platforms, there's a lot of hazards that make the only places that COULD be base platforms completely unplayable, and the killbox on either side is too close to the stage. Mario Bros. stage was banned because there were hazards, walk-offs, and virtually the entire stage is a cave of life. In this sense, these stages have many more issues than the ones the new DK stage and Pyrosphere have, which is why they're hated vehemently even in non-competitive play.
 
 

Ballon Fight is the least worse of the bunch imo. Though that might be because I didn't really play on it in the 3DS version. I'm just happy Omega Mode is a thing.

It's the least worst for me mainly because I can look at the stage and see how it could have easily been a legal stage: you get rid of the center-high platform with the wall on it, you get rid of the fish, and at that point, you just shift the entire stage to the right and scroll one side to the other so that you end up with a stage with a base platform, no walk-offs and an interesting array of platform placement. (I know that there's multiple forms, but the same theory basically applies to them all)

Interesting. Also makes sense given that the poll suggests 2 more characters will be DLC and that by adding 5 more characters the grid becomes a perfect rectangle. Curious what it would end up looking like on the 3DS though.
