I could certainly believe that. Right now they just need to make sure they are actually available for people since so many are so hard to get. Not sure about the crash so much though. Don't get me wrong, things can blow up in their face to some degree, but just having a line of Nintendo figures has a fair bit of value and people will want them. I mean, if I had more money to spend on them, I would own a fair bit more simply because I like some of the characters or others look cool.

The problem is that they're diluting the market with how many there are. I get a feeling that at some point, if uses of the amiibo continues to be negligible and the characters they try to pass on become more and more obscure, they'll lose sales. And I'm not sure how many more different versions of the same figure they can make before no one wants to buy more versions of those characters anymore. We already have 3-4 mario and I– a big Nintendo fan that would purchase all the amiibo if I had the money– definitely wouldn't want to buy more than one of the same character.

Also note that you and I both noted the same issue: money. Most if not all consumers don't have the money to buy all the amiibo unless we're hardcore collectors with large disposable incomes. That isn't many people. I think it's an absolutely spectacular start, but I'll remain uneasy about the future of amiibo until Nintendo proves to me it has the software to make the further purchase of amiibo even years down the line worth it.

Those are fair points. I agree that when you start putting out multiple lines of the same character your starting to spread yourself thin. I imagine people would much rather by the Smash versions than the MP10 versions of the Mario characters since they just look better. I personally like the thing they are doing with the Wooly World Yoshi since its VERY different from the other Yoshi Amiibos and I wouldn't feel bad owning both that and the Smash one. As for the Inklings, I could see where too many Amiibos like that could end becoming an issue. I want to trust Nintendo to be smart about it, but they have made some pretty dumb choices with Amiibo and stuff like the GC adaptor so we just need to wait and see.

I think one of Mewtwo's colors is a reference to XD001 from Gale of Darkness. That's pretty sweet.

Don't forget

Also, noticed only 5 characters don't have an Amiibo announced. R.O.B., Game & Watch, Falco, Duck Hunt, Olimar.

>Lucas comes out of nowhere
Seems legit.

I really enjoyed the title thingy they used for him. Super fitting since some people weren't even sure if we would get DLC past Mewtwo.

To be fair, I agree with you. I've only ever emulated 2 games, Mother 3 since I could not possibly buy it legally and Emerald because I owned all 3 (really 5) gen 3 games but for some reason when I played through Emerald I repacked Torchic and I really wanted to do a run with Treecko. Only other game I want to emulate is Red version because dear lord is Gen 1 broken and I want to experience it again knowing all I do now.

I pretty much only emulate games that I simply can't get ahold of nowadays without an overabundance of effort, such as PS1, SNES, Sega Saturn, etc. games. Or sometimes games I already own but want on PC for reasons like convenience or undubs.

Based on the trailer, he seems far more mobile and subsequently buffed overall.
Which is amusing.

The funny part is is that whenever I play Melee with friends, the only way they can beat me nowadays is if I go Mewtwo on Onett. I SD all my stocks away.

So Mewtwo's alternate colors:

I like how they kept some of the Melee colors, while adding new ones.
I'm wondering if they have a costume for Mewtwo that makes him purely a light pink, if only because it would looks similar to Mew.
Probably not, but still.

What did you think they were just going to stick with the original 4 colors? lol

Would like to see the First Movie armor alt show up.
