I want a boxing-style gamemode where only Little Macs can fight. The fight would be split into 10 3 minute rounds in which each player would recover some damage between rounds, three-knockdown rule (3 stock per round that replenish if you don't lose all of them by the time a round ends) with a knockdown resulting in a 2 point loss, you'd get a point penalty if you grabbed (clinched) too much, stuff like that. Admittedly, since it'd be pretty much impossible to keep someone down for the full 10 count without taking their controller or something, every match would probably end in decision once time was up or TKO from the three-knockdown rule.

Also, using Little Mac's side b to where you fall off the edge but also KO your opponent on the way down is both super risky (especially when you're both on your last stock) and super awesome.

So I've started playing Greninja a bit and I just dove straight into For Glory 1v1 after figuring out all of his moves in Training. However I realized today, not sure how I didn't realize it earlier, that even lag free games have the tiniest bit of input lag, which for some reason really messes with my Greninja play and not any of my other characters.

Personally, I want a third-person-perspective version of Smash, like what they showed for a brief moment in the Mac trailer.
Just... Cuz' it would be pretty crazy to play like that.

My guess is because Greninja requires you to be spot-on with his moves, and the slight delay is what fucked you up.

Something funny about me learning Greninja, I practiced on Final Destination by default and so when using his side b I didn't notice the shadow moving, but when I was in the waiting room for 1v1 I was on a lighter stage so I noticed it before my first fight, so that was lucky. I really like using that move for recovery, and I seem to hit people with it somewhat consistently.

I know, that's why I said "Waifu factor aside."

More people need to utilize Mac's air game. It's terrible, but it's still there. For example, I can't count how many times I can jump up to someone and hit them back up with his up b with no resistance at all, or jump at an enemy and interrupt them with my neutral air into his neutral combo when I hit the ground, they just don't expect it.

Cuz' Mac isn't an air fighter. That's why.

Yo, not practical?

You underestimate the elevator of doom. Dude's got 50 fo those under his belt, one even pulled off at a tournament.

As for the jab lock, jab locking is actually a legit thing, though this is more like a jab reset from Melee. It only works BECAUSE LM's dair is so weak, and forces the opponent to get up normally.

But yeah, aerial KO punch is pretty glorious

If yall want updates on cool Smash 4 tech, I suggest looking up My Smash Corner on youtube. Dude makes some REALLY interesting videos~

I'm liking all the neat technical things being found in the game. Hopefully Smash 4 will have more competitive legs than Brawl did.

Difference between this game and Melee is that instead of certain tech skills that apply to EVERY character but work better for certain characters (ex. wavedashing, DACUS) we're getting one or two tech skills for each character that are completely different from the tech skills of any other characters.

It's interesting, but it does create a bit of a question as to how much separation can be made between someone who is good at smash and someone who isn't without easy transferrable skills from one character to another.

This is true

Little Mac is getting aerial locks, Villager can do a DACUS-like usmash and cut his tree with one chop, and Megaman can do infinites and metal blade combos and shit. Also Sheik has a chaingrab.

But tbh, I like seeing character-specific ATs, since it adds even more uniqueness TO the characters, but it'd be nice if every character had at least one.

Also there ARE some non-character specific ATs here

JC Glide Tossing

Item Drop Cancel Aerial

Jab locking

Playing this game is the first time I got bored of a game.

No, it's not bad, but video gaming itself is hitting the same lump war games, TTRPGs, and hundreds of older formats faced. Hell, let's not forget the gaming crash we already had. This routine level of game development is leading to one hell of a bad sign in the future.

And this game, for me, showcases why this is a problem. It is routine, now. It's no longer a huge new experience, it's what I expected. The days of awed gaming are all but dead.

Honestly who picked [some of] the newcomer secret characters in this game?!?

We get this:

Perhaps I should also complain about Little Mac while I'm in the fan recognition/popularity department. Why is he a character anyway?
but not this:

note: I sure hope the above image is NOT a clever fake, but I can't find any info on the contrary.

For those who don't like Tails, why couldn't we get Shadow then? Heck, even Amy or Mephilis would be a better choice then the above examples!
I'm not buying this smash now...

I wouldn't include any item-related techniques as non-character specific at all honestly.

Because 3rd party characters are INCREDIBLY limited Sonic isn't going to get 2. Honestly, not getting a smash game because a character you like didn't make it while a character you don't like did seems really silly. I HATE Jigs in Smash and would have really liked to see Sceptile and K.Rool is another character I would have loved to see, but in a cast of nearly 50 characters you should have multiple ones that you like.

As for Little Mac, he is actually really popular and a cool character from the old days of Nintendo, something Sakurai likes including. That also explains Duck Hunt, though he made it in because of the latter more so than the former.
