It is with Lucina.

But with marth....eh...

I don't miss it too much tho, cuz I just bair people anyway.

Lucina can't spike people to their deaths at 30% when both players are STILL ON THE STAGE tho.

Melee Marth, why u so broke? D:

That video inspired me to up my skills with marth. normally I side him with my Pikachu, but since Pikachu got destroyed in the 3ds/U version, I might as well swap him and marth.

Got destroyed what?

In the community voted tier list he's like top 10.

Pikachu feels faster to me than in brawl and melee, but from the times that I've played him, he also feels like he's lost much of the KB power with his F, D, and Usmashes. his down in particular seems faster, but a lot of characters I've faced don't seem to care about his fsmash as much. it used to be my go-to kill move, but now it feels like it's more of a small stun/pushback than a knockback if that makes any sense.

it might be that I'm not used to him completely yet though, since I haven't played him all that much this time around. after looking at my character screen from the 3ds version, captain falcon, marth, lil mac, Pikachu, and robin, are currently my top 5 used in that order. it seems I need to start practicing with the yellow mouse again to get used to him.

Pikachu's really good in this game, actually. If your opponent doesn't DI correctly, uthrow to down special is AMAZING.

Also his nair still has gimp potential, his recovery is still OP

Also you can do a skullbash with no startup lag if done right after a bair (idk if they've patched that, but it was there last time I used Pika)

And his fair has so little landing lag you can pretty much just grab afterwards, even if they shield, as they'll still be in shieldstun XP

so to put it simply, his airgame is far better, but his groundgame was lowered? makes sense. his dsmash was pretty borked anyways.

His ground game seems aight, but his air game has always been where Pikachu shined

it was never his air game that I worried about, I have yet to have an issue with it when I catch people in the air, but in this game it's felt like his ground game has been making it hard to get people into the air. aside from throws, I've been having trouble getting people off the ground with pika. so I assume I just need to change up how I use him

I think so. fsmash is still a strong move if you hit them with the actual electric ball, and his dsmash is good for damage. usmash, I believe, kills as early as Fox's.

Also his utilt is insane.

Yeah but this is why no one listens to the community voted tier list.

Pikachus dont perform well at tournaments at all.

He was B tier in Brawl, and most of what he got in Smash 4 were buffs, according to the wiki so like, what could have possibly happened to make him not viable?

He's still a very nice character. Also try sayin that after seein Esam's Pikachu

What characters do you find you have trouble with? For me, it's Rosalina and Zamus. The former mainly because I just don't think I'm used to the hitboxes and timing of her attacks and her dodging animations throw me off, and I don't see her enough that I get to practice much. The latter because she's just one tough cookie. >.>

I always have trouble with Mario, for some god forsaken reason.

Aside from that, Sonic is such an annoying f*cker. He's just too f*cking fast x.x

Or maybe YOU'RE TOO SLO--*shot*

I fight a Sonic every once in awhile, but they all repeat the exact same combos so you get used to them pretty quickly.

Getting used to the combo is one thing.

Catching him when you're Villager is oh so totally different.

Maybe it was the every character getting buffed.

It's possible he could be played better, but so far Pikachu players have performed to a level beffitting it to being around 25-30th best character.

Who plays Pikachu other than Esam?

And Esam plays him really well.

We'll see how the meta develops

But I just know Pikachu's gonna be a good contender. Not a LOT of people use him, but those who do often know what they're doing.

If that's the case, they should perform better in tournaments. Because Pikachu's currently at #25 in my rankings :>
