I'm surprised I haven't faced more of them, especially since he's new. I can say without a doubt I could count the number of Villager players I've faced on one hand.

Not a lot of people play him, for some reason.
But I find him to be extremely strong, especially with how unpredictable he can get.

Villager, for the most part, is in the same boat as characters like Game & Watch and a few others.
As in, hes a light-weight character that basically 'floats' around the battlefield, but can easily fuck up the opponent.
IE, nobody uses them because they actually require effort to use.

I guess that's true.

I think what really makes Villager though, is his aerials, and the fact Lloid stops his momentum.

You have no idea how many dairs I've gotten from tricking my opponent into doing a smash attack while I stopped my falling momentum with lloid and nailed them.

All the fun characters take effort to use; It's the amazing paradox of Smash Bros.

Villager's best features are the fact he effectively has 2 recovery moves, and good ones at that. The Gyroid travels really damn far and the balloons can let you fly all over the place for quite a while. Or at least, in my opinion.

As for me, I just whore his tree. It's such a fun move because of how over-the-top it is.

I do.

Also, I can no longer get the super armor timing of Eruption to save my life. :(

XDDDDD I guess you do.

And does it even HAVE super armor anymore? O.o

Right? I love Villager~

And Villager's recovery is THE best in the game. Lloid can take him from one end of the blast zone to the opposite corner of FD, and Balloons can go from the bottom blast zone to the top. It's absolutely insane. not only that, but you have to pop both balloons to hit Villager while he's doin the upB recovery, unless you do a super strong attack. His ledge game is amazing.

And yeah, tree's definitely cool. I often use it on the ledge while my opponents are trying to recover.

I'm pretty sure I've gotten it to work, like, maybe once or twice in all the hundreds of matches I've played so far. I'm, like, 70% sure it's still there, I just all of a sudden can't get it anymore.

EDIT: Oh, s***, it now only has super armor when it's at least 75% charged. Now I don't feel so bad, but that also saddens me. I loved using that super armor in Brawl.

So what's everyone's favorite/least favorite characters changes from Brawl/SSB4?

My favorite is probably what they did with abunch of the characters recovery like Ike's (when you hit someone midair with it), Fox's, and Falco's in making their side specials no longer put them into helpless state.

My least favorite change is the massive range reduction on Ike's Fair. That thing had the most horizontal coverage out of any aerial attack in Brawl. :(

Keep in mind that they did that so that the animation is shorter, making it autocancel

Ike's fair is a LOT better now XP

Naw, it's a tournament hosted in Smashboards.

And it's a character-specific tournament, so everyone uses different characters.

There's uh....around 20ish?

It's not THAT big.

Oh and I lose 0-2 to a ROB with a reflective sideB. Really shut down my slingshot.

Bother, now I'm in loser's bracket. Guess I gotta work my way up XD
