My friend told me that recently, people who still play Melee had been finding good ways to use Mewtwo that bumped him up a lot....but idk how true that is, given that despite how awesome he looked, I could never use him that well D:

I read on TvTropes there was apparently not much of a reason as to why Mewtwo got bumped up, but I also don't know how true it is, so dunno exactly how this is relevant enough to say.

Ganondorf's down special is still Wizard's Foot, just a dark version of Falcon Kick. You're thinking of Captain Falcon's Raptor Boost, which was changed with Ganondorf to his Flame Choke.

That thingy, yes.

Haven't played SSB in a WHILE actually o_O''

Can't WAIT to get the 3ds ssb4 because then I don't need time, i can play it ON THE GO >:DDD

The fact that they feel like there should be only about 40 characters is kind of silly.

I don't see how more characters would be a bad thing.

Character balance. The more game pieces that get add into any game the more difficult it becomes to balance everything. The thing is most fighting games cap off in the low to mid 40s so smash doing the same isn't strange.

Only 40? 40 is a really big number. It gives ton of diversity, if they work out some of the clone-ish issues. More than that and balance would be hard. Sure we could have 60+ characters, but they'd be of lesser quality. Anyway, a lot of people replied to this, but I felt like putting this out there.

Just gonna touch on this as I see it was mentioned earlier in the thread.  Am I the only one hoping Mewtwo returns?  He was such an exciting character in Melee.  Squishy yeah, but he was the kind of carry who could move and flow but was also balanced and fun to play.

What I said in my second last post was the only ones I'm hoping for are Mewtwo, and maybe 1 or 2 Gen V/VI Pokemon (I'm expecting at least 1 because Lucario was in the most recent Gen when Brawl was released and Pichu in the most recent Gen when Melee was released. Though maybe taking into account Mewtwo will have 1 or 2 new Forms, there might not be...). Other than that, I'm leaving it to the guy making the games to decide. So no, you're not really the only one.

What? Hyrule Temple? It's my favorite stage, second is Corneria... How do people not like it? o.O

Well, see, the nature of that stage is pretty annoyin', and I hear its banned from competitions since it gives unfair advantage to speedy characters and characters who are good at knocking others up or down rather than left or right.

Still, has an epic song.

I know that Marth is a fan-favorite, but what if for this installment, they replace Marth with Lucina?

I mean Awakening is pretty popular right now, and Lucina's all the rage(Or so I hear)

At most they'd put Lucina as an alternate costume for Marth. They wouldn't replace Ike for Lucina simply because Marth and Lucina have very similar fighting styles.

I'm thinking they'll put Chrom in for Ike...but...IDK, Lucina seems hard-pressed to find a spot in the game =P

However, as an alternate costume, it'd be nice.

And who actually WANTS them to carry out their plans to make clothing and armor wear out as battle damage rises like they were planning to do with Brawl?

If it's like that, I'd like to see Lucina rather than Marth, and she starts off with the mask (or without, if you press R and L before a battle or something) and as battle damage increases, at one point her mask breaks and her hair falls down

o3o

Does anyone know if their adding new innovations to this game yet?

Besides new graphics, new characters, and new maps, Melee and Brawl added new features every time the game was released.

Melee introduced a Side B move, and Event Stages

Brawl added lots of new features like the Stage Builder, Final Smashes, Tripping, The Subspace Emissairy, and most importantly Online Play

So now I am thinking of what they could be adding that could make this game different.

The wear and tear of clothing/armor seems like a really cool idea.

I was thinking if each character had a sort of progression meter or an experience system where you play enough with them or perform certain challenges (like achievements) with the individual characters and you could be rewarded with specific alternate costumes for them. That way, you would not be able to unlock everything easily by playing 300 versus matches. And you would also get better at each character and be encouraged to play with them all.

As for gameplay elements I am not so sure, but I would like to hear what YCM thinks.
