Toffee.
> Opponent tries KO-Uppercut in the airConfirmed scrublord-> Opponent lands KO-Uppercut in airWait, what?Or just basically roll around a lot and attack when possible. Cuz Little Mac can damage his opponents FAST and can kill easily with Smashes.I've yet to encounter a Mac that does that. Everyone just either spams Haymakers or tries to do fancy stuff; Both of which never work.
DL
Fun fact: KO Uppercut has significantly less launch power in the air than in the ground.

Jake the Sage
I'd be down for having it this week. Well we'll need sometime for people to sign up.
DL
I'd rather it be on a Saturday at around 6 PM Central. Would that work for everyone else?
Greiga
I'd be down to enter a smash tournament depending on time. I'm completely free Tuesdays and weekends.
Jake the Sage
I'd rather it be on a Saturday at around 6 PM Central. Would that work for everyone else? Considering I generally work around that time I don't think it'd be a good idea. To be honest I think once we get everyone signed up and figure out who will be fighting who we let the contestants decide on the time/date of their matches. That way we don't have to wait for everyone to be online with their 3DS at the same time.
Greiga
So your standard "tournament starts here, you have y days to complete a round of x and report?" We need rules now. Also, I assume everyone has unlocked "More Rules" already, but the host should have it unlocked as Timed Stock is legendary.
Flame Dragon
Way I figure it each round should last a few days so as to allow everyone playing in it the ability to find time to get in a round. Side from that rules as I would write them up are 3 Stock 8 minutes time Best of 3 No items Omega Mode only No custom moves I think the first 4 everyone can agree one. As for the other 2, since this is the first tourney I think keeping things as simple as possible has a fair bit of value. As we spend more time with the game, I think opening up normal modes for the stages and customs moves can be done, but for now, less is more. For instance I think Custom Moves should be allowed since it opens up a complete range of different ways characters can be played- so even if someone is using the same character it might be a completely different style of fighting for said character. DL
I see where you're tryin to get to Flame, but I think in this case the exact opposite is actually true. See, since we DON'T know how they would affect competitive play, I feel we SHOULD experiment with custom moves to find out if they SHOULD be in future tournaments. But more isn't always better. For now, I'd rather just keep things simpler. Honestly, with 48 different characters to pick from and the game having just come out, I don't think variety is we really need right now. I don't see the need to test that in the tournament though. Again, I'm looking for things to be simpler for the first go around.

Okay then how about this . . . since you said that it would be the best out of three each person, obviously, gets three different characters in which they can rotate from. However, if too many people have the same character (say Little Mac) then we can allow for customization of moves and moves only. Sound fair? Toffee.
To be fair, customization can decide the match more so then the actual fighter/player can. Just sayin'In an unrelated note:This, honestly, would make for an amusing roster.

I guess, but we'd need to establish what is too many and when will we start allowing custom moves in this case. Not to mention people might end up using more than 3 characters over the tournament
DL
I feel testing them out as soon as possible is better for taking that out of the way as soon as possible rather than shelving it indefinitely. That's the point, it just seems smarter to do it ASAP so we can decide ASAP whether they're ok or not.
Greiga
Custom equips are always bullshit. Custom Moves I can live with but I would only allow them if both players have all of them unlocked. I also assume some people will want to use something like Skype or LINE so I also like the idea of letting the loser pick a stage for round 2 or 3, if both people agree on the idea AND on the stage chosen. But even with that there should still9 be banned stages. I like 5 minute matches because it's only 3 stock and because 24 is less clean than 15, but I can see people thinking that's short. How will you decide if too many people are gonna use a character? If I'm really in this I'm definitely not gonna say who I'm using till after it starts at least. Considering this is going to be online as opposed to live and no one can see who's using what, will there be some form of secrecy or are people free to talk about who their opponent used? Agro
Custom Moves should be allowed. I've looked through them. The only characters who you'd really need to ACTUALLY look at when considering whether or not to allow custom moves is Palutena and the Mii Fighters. And even then, Meh Fighters. But Omega mode only isn't a good idea at all. Lots of characters gain a hell of an advantage on a stage without platforms. Little Mac is the biggest example of that. Battlefield & Yoshi's Island should be available as well (as starting stages), with Tomodachi Life, Prism Tower, and Arena Ferox as counter-picks. Lonk
I agree with Agro on that point. Also, does anyone else feel that, if it weren't for the Flying Man, Magicant would've been a Counter Pick stage?
