Waluigi's first game was Mario Tennis too though, so I can at least see why he's holding a tennis racket as an Assist Trophy, and why he's use that for a move. Then at least some of his moves could be some other party/sports moves that well, aren't used by other characters that could get in. It's not like Mario, Luigi, Wario, etc don't have enough moves without them, and since that's the kind of game he originated in, I think those moves (or well, besides the tennis racket, final smash) make sense even if other characters technically could be just as able to use them.

Zero could be an assist trophy.

You know what they should do? DLC stages, characters and outfits.

Cut characters can be added back in if you're willing to pay, people can still play at the Temple despite it being a Melee stage, and outfits should be added in the main game, but they could make more money by offering them as DLC.

Just the fact that there isn't enough time to bring every character back being a big part of it, it does make sense anyway. I'd mostly just be intresting in characters and stages though. I really did not feel it was needed for different outfits (or at least the ones not incluced in the game) for Naruto and it would probably be the same for me with this. Only I'd still be intrested in playing it after a million times.

Its been said that for the time being they have no plans for doing DLC.

I think that's why he said should, not will. It's very much possible as long as they don't say it won't happen, and it would probably be a very cool idea.

So I was watching this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QcPipl6RAfQ

and the whole, Sakurai finds picking characters so draining that it affects his life, isn't much of a stretch.

But yea, you all should listen to the other 2.

Dude puts in mad work for something like this.  I mean, he has to.  It's one of the company's best selling franchises, and they know that with a fan base as big as it has, the quality and choices made behind each and every single aspect has to be high.  I'm sure it's a strain for everyone.

The fact that they feel like there should be only about 40 characters is kind of silly.

I don't see how more characters would be a bad thing.

They honestly don't have enough time though (yes, it's been said).

They need to worry about getting out a good game first, and then once it's out, discuss the possibility of DLC to expand the amount of characters and such. At least, I feel that's a good way of going about it, even if they decide not to. It should be released by 2014 by now, so I really don't feel extending the time just to get in a few more characters is all that good of an idea.

I think that Sakurai doesn't want to put in too many characters, as the core franchises would then start to lose meaning if characters were added willy-nilly.

Ninja'd by a better reason.  No plans for DLC were made though.

Yeah, it's good that they said there are currently no plans. It should stay that way at least until the game is released, but I'd still be okay if they were to say they just wouldn't do DLC.

And I'm sure they can make some characters who are still too much of a clone different enough, but for ones where they can't, I pretty much agree they should be cut completely.

And I'm pretty sure there are no new trailers besides well, the earlier trailers which would still be considered new.

Clutter, higher chance of clones, harder to balance each character and make them worth using while still being unique, ect.

I prefer a smaller list honestly. I feel like, even though I didn't like some of Melee's mechanics, the amount of characters it had was near perfect, the clones just needed to be replaced (Dr. Mario, Pichu) or changed (Ganondorf, Young Link).

...and mewtwo needed to be buffed >>

My friend told me that recently, people who still play Melee had been finding good ways to use Mewtwo that bumped him up a lot....but idk how true that is, given that despite how awesome he looked, I could never use him that well D:

If Melee had Megaman and Sonic I'd still play it =P

And actually, I feel some clones are pretty nice, like Wolf and Fox, because Wolf is a REALLY physical-combat kinda guy, Fox is agile and good all around, has better technology, but isn't as adept in physical combat as Wolf. In my opinion.

Pichu WAS a weaker Pikachu though...and as for Dr. Mario...meh, we already have Luigi, but I liked the electric smash attack o3o

I also feel Captain Falcon and Ganondorf are different enough, as Wolf and Fox are, to stay the same...especially since Ganon's version of the Falcon Kick was replaced by a dash-n-choke o3o
