Also I've started completely owning about half the characters, especially Little Mac-

Little Mac auto-dies even if he jumps- Of course it's easy to beat a character-who-can't-do-anything-in-the-air, in a competition about sending-characters-through-the-air-to-KO-them.

Also, Smash being out before Christmas is hilarious.

So I think we should open up the tournament thread now, to plan for it, since we DID decide the first one should be in a week or so.

But that's just me.

Personally, I think we should wait before we hold the tournament.

Thats my problem with Little Mac

Anyway, got 5 kills in cruel and decided to get some more points in homerun contest and got over 4000.

Then stay near the center of the stage.
OR be a pro and give him stats that beef up his defense; Makes him less likely to be thrown out, and Mac doesn't give a shit if he looses speed.

It doesn't work well when you also need to no chase them after you hit them into the air.

Ike. His F-Smash covers a ton of area in front of him and counter is really good.

I've found that doing a sort of hit-n'-run style with him tends to work best.
As in... Hit them a bit -> Move back to center -> repeat
I mean, Mac can hit hard enough that doing that a few times puts people at like 40-60% and from then on it's just a matter of time before you either use his KO punch OR just straight-up knock them off with whatever Smash Attack you can get to connect.

Also...

Is TAG only maining Megaman? I forget if I ever asked him what his main(s) are.
Speaking of which, you should get TAG to come back here, if only for the sake of this topic.
I mean, he WAS pretty commonplace in the last Smash Bros topic. So it just seems appropriate.

I just stand on the edge and let them come to me. The problem is the Mii Gunner who has stupid range and doesn't come at you like Fighter ans Swordmen.

TAG is right next to me. I'll tell him you want him back.

But being near the edge is arguably the worst spot for Mac...

And it's funny...

Tiger clearly lost via being flung off the stage.

....
......
Ok, I'm exaggerating, but still.

And considering you've once said you can "Summon him at will", I honestly picture this as You and TAG:

Oh, you were doing Cruel with-
Yea, Mac is basically f*cked in that mode, unless you somehow manage to bullshit your way into getting KOs.

...Didn't you say you were brothers?
I might have misheard that part, but still.

But Black Friday is on the 28th............ I find it WEIRD that Japan gets the game last.

Game only comes out in NA on the 21st. Europe gets it in December. Black Friday is an American "holiday" due to Thanksgiving. The fact that Europe doesn't technically have a black friday means that Nintendo doesn't care about getting the game out before Black Friday in Europe. So it's not.

I was just denoting Little Mac because he has no recovery. Virtually every character without multiple jumps or a bullshit recovery (or both) get wrecked if they're caught without a jump off-stage. It's just that Little Mac can lose to a single throw.

Also, Smash being out before Christmas is hilarious.

I don't see how. Nintendo basically NEEDED it out before Black Friday and Christmas.

OR be a pro and give him stats that beef up his defense; Makes him less likely to be thrown out, and Mac doesn't give a s*** if he looses speed.

Ew stats.

No, I mean... Earlier, it was going to be released at a later date.
Now, it's like the ideal time to release it, which ensures maximum shenanigans at stores/etc.

Ew stats.

Hence the word "pro".

So, my older brother feels that Shulk is too good of a character.  He hates how open the reaction time is for Vision when compared to other counters and he hates his speed and power and the fact that he can augment them.  I just think he's frustrated with Shulk players online giving his Bowser and Game & Watch trouble.

As for the Customs argument, I whole-heartedly agree with Black just because it would allow for more diversity and give characters that have different mechanics with customs such as Palutena and Yoshi much more use.

I only worry it's not balanced.

I mean, there's going to be "best" choices, but there's also meta call choices and the like. I doubt it would really hurt the game.

Like Lucina/Marth have a heavy version of Dancing Blade,. Does more, launches, etc. But it can't combo beyond 2~ hits unless you get the timing PERFECT.

I mean it's all theoretical. If there's extensive testing done and there don't seem to be any problems, there's no reason not to.

It's really just the armor augmentation I prefer not playing with.

Completely the same for me.

Equipment system is fine for Smash Run or w/e, but seems like a can of worms competitively.

Competitively, Equipment is going to be bad since one can really make the characters that were so close to becoming broken, broken.  In 20 seconds, I literally brought someone from 0 to 165 percent with Shulk because I gave him equipment in power and speed along with Hyper Monado Buster.

So everybody knows Prog, right? One of the two best announcers for competitive smash. He retired after Evo2014. Well turns out he'll coming out of retirement if Nintendo asks him to.

He'll be an announcer for the 3DS national tournament thing on Saturday alongside Toph and Nintendo's Bill Trinen.

This would also add some unpredictability with regards to the characters, seeing as how stats would, more often then not, turn characters into something they aren't and ultimately prove to be an interesting factor.
...
Mostly on an experimental bases, of course.

You don't want TOO much diversity. Somewhat predictable diversity is good. Unrestricted diversity is bad.

Kind of like how Yugioh shouldn't have a ridiculous amount of decks that are all competitive because it would make having a side deck unhelpful.

There's a certain limit to how much you can prepare for, and if you're constantly getting something different that you're not prepared for, there's no way of really gauging skill.

I know. I was just pointing out it doesn't come out on Black Friday itself.

I really think customizing moves (not stats given the random nature of the equipment) is something that should be allowed in general. It adds depth to thgame.

Part of the problem is your not going to know what to expect. The other is unlocking all of them.

Problem with Shulk is his moves are all really slow to come out. Like, all his aerials have a bit of lag.
