Agro
Shulk's up b is Air Slash, for the people who don't know Shulk. I'm guessing that it would have Slow properties on it.Tell me about these properties you speak of.Because I just got the idea that Shulk will have a move that speeds up everything he does and every other special move will slow him down. Lonk
Tell me about these properties you speak of. Because I just got the idea that Shulk will have a move that speeds up everything he does and every other special move will slow him down. In Xenoblade Chronicles, there are tons of different status ailments and boosts. Playing them right can overwhelm even the toughest of enemies. Shulk's moveset in Xenoblade revolves around striking the enemy at different vantage points, getting criticals and bonus effects. Air Slash is a move that, when used on the side of the enemy, it increases the likelihood of getting a Critical and inflicts the Slow debuff on the enemy. Think of speed as being accuracy/evasion in that game. Another move shown in the video was Slit Edge, where hitting an enemy at its side increases the likelihood of getting a Critical and inflicts the defense down debuff. Another move is backslash, where hitting the enemy in the back will multiply the damage done to it. There's also Stream Edge, which attacks multiple enemies within a spread range and inflicts the Break debuff. Break does nothing until a move that inflicts Topple is used, which knocks the enemy down and renders it unable to fight back and dodge for a period of time. And, during Topple, Daze can be inflicted upon the enemy. Daze is pretty much Topple, except with the fact that it is stacked on immobility and makes the enemy much more susceptible to criticals. And, at this point, an Enemy can have the Death debuff inflicted upon them (Only usable source of the Death Status is with Head Shot), which doesn't need an explanation. So basically: Break --> Topple --> Daze --> Death. Moves that inflict Topple and Daze upon each other also stack in duration. Have the right set-up and skills leveled up and not even the strongest boss will be able to get up after being Toppled, and the Death Status is actually usable in this game. Shulk also has access to the Monado Arts, which does a bunch of different stuff; Monado Speed sharply increases the speed of one of the allies. Monado Buster is just a really strong move that inflicts extra damage against mechanical beings (and has a ridiculous range), Monado Shield pretty much says 'no' to the use of an enemy's Signature Move with an equal to or lower level of the Shield's Level, Monado Eater inflicts the Bleed debuff (damages over time) and nullifies the target's buffs and there are other Arts. Basically, Shulk has alot of different moves that can be used in virtually any combat situation with maximum effectiveness. It's one of the reasons why he was the most broken playable character in Xenoblade Chronicles, possibly even more broken than how Ike was in his games. Could you solo the game with Shulk, and in doing so make the game a hell of a lot easier? Also, about higher intensity meaning higher rewards, I'm glad for that, because the trophy shop sounded convenient, but at the prices shown seemed like it would be a bit of a grind. This will make it less so if you can earn coins quickly.

Though, the broken aspects comes from how easily Shulk can abuse the combat system, especially the Chain Attack feature.
Shradow
Oh, I randomly remembered this. Dat bulge on the male Wii Fit Trainer. Only applies to an old conversation but I just thought it was a pretty humorous thing to remember.
Lonk
I did say that 4 was more blatant with its fanservice than Brawl was. After all, Sakurai did make that one image with Palutena and Lucina in a very suggestive position. Speaking of which, I wonder how Sakurai feels about the leak. His surprises are gone, and his fanbase will no longer be able to forget the spoilers.

Lonk
I wonder if Samus would be the best character, or if the fan-favorite Bowser will become best character.
Shradow
I'd love it if Bowser became awesome, but I remember during E3 Sakurai said during testing that Samus was the most powerful character.

The team focused on balancing characters still has until release date to try and make everyone balanced.
Agro
Not to mention that Samus wasn't chosen in the Smash Tournament at E3 because HugS, the dude that plays Samus for a living in Melee, basically said she was s***. So really, the best characters could be anything since the assumably important opinions on the matter each have their differences. We won't know who the best characters are till after the game comes out. Except Rosalina.
Tourmaline
Consider ZSS, who was 9th in Brawl's tier list, had received incredible buffs to the point she looks insanely...overdone. Buffed recovery on top of speed, many disjointed, lingering hitboxes and true combos together with terrific edgeguarding. Her moves have far range on top of being disjointed. She already did almost everything, and now she was buffed in every way besides weight. Seeing a ZSS win against M2K's Meta Knight was impressive, too. Lonk
btw, Shulk's victory theme is based off of 'You Will Know Our Names', the part from 1:22-1:27 within the track in case if you couldn't hear it from the taken down video. I'm late for this, but I just needed to say that.
Flame Dragon
Speaking of Xenoblade, I've been watching Chugga's LP of the game and I am now terrified that Smash is going to spoil something for me. I mean, I think Prison Island is the half way mark give or take, so I still have a lot of game left to see.

And yes, Prison Island is the half way mark of the game, give or take. the first time around Which is why I'm scared. I'm certain had I not seen Prison Island before Smash game out, a trophy would have almost certainly spoiled the big reveal that happens there. I mean, I was able to figure it out on my own earlier, but it was just speculation and finding out that wasy would have SUCKED. Not to mention they are bound to have another trophy that reveals more about the things hinted at during that giant cut scene. In other news, they've been updating the musical pieces. Nothing much longer than a minute, but its cool nonetheless. Nothing super interesting has happened on the update front btw. With only 15 days left I have to wonder if they are going to even show the full cast before the game is out. I mean we still have 11 more characters to see and only 11 more Pic of the Days left. Little sad that only 3/4 of the known ones are new.
Lonk
Sakurai should just be cool and reveal everything next week. As for that event that happens, your mouth will drop. Also, there's definitely going to be a trophy based on the events surrounding that. Better watch through Xenoblade Chronicles LP quick. When October rolls around, you'll kick yourself in the head for not seeing through the rest of the story.
Agro
Last two days of Miiverse posts: "Pic of the day. A panel in the Challenges area will unlock everytime you clear a challenge. When you unlock a panel, you'll see hints for unlocking panels directly adjacent to it on all sides. And this time, each panel will unlock pictures related to the challenge. This is tougher than it looks, you know? The challenges in the 3DS version are a little on the easy side, but the Wii U version challenges might be a bit trickier." "Pic of the day. Customize your characters in the Custom section. It sounded better to customize "characters" instead of "fighters," so that's what we went with. There are various ways to customize, but make sure you remember to set up the powers you're bringing with you before playing a round of Smash Run." The LP should be about 3/4s of the way come October, so hopefully any major spoilers left will be in the descriptions and I can avoid those by not reading them. Anyway, Nintendo Direct tomorrow for the 3DS. I wonder what will be the main showcase................
Agro
So we're probably getting one or two new trailers. I wonder what they'll mash-up. I can imagine Ness showing up with King (his dog) only to be attacked by the Duck Hunt Dog. Shulk in a field, run into Jigglypuff. I expect the last trailer to be a big HEROS vs VILLAINS ULTIMATE BATTLE Bowser Jr, Ganondorf and Wario all in the same trailer would seem pretty obvious, and Mewtwo if he's in the game, Isaac, Dark Pit, Dr. Mario, Falco, R.O.B. Lonk
I want to see Shulk vs. Meta-Knight. Also, when's the direct?
Flame Dragon
My guess is Doctor will be with Bowser Jr, and the other Shulk and Duck Hunt get some one else. Dark Pit likely won't be shown since he was teashed at the end of the Palutena trailer. As for each of the 3 new characters do I tihnk we'll get, my money is on Shulk. Time is 7AM EST. Going to try to wake up early to watch.
