"Pic of the day. Here's a Screen K.O. shot. There are also patterns where players will disappear into the sky for Star K.O.s, but as a match's time limit approaches, those K.O.s will not occur anymore."

Oh my god, yes to that last part. Victories will no longer be unjustly lost because your opponent's KO animation took longer than yours despite it starting first.

Also, that small change in Lucina makes a huge difference in how you use her. Plus it's not necessarily the ONLY change. It might as well be.  Unlike most other clone characters where they have completely different statistics, Lucina was made to be as close to Marth as possible, right down to the stats.  A character with the intention of being a complete clone is... unacceptable.

Plus, it's nice to have an awesome female sword-fighter in the cast.  But Marth is already a fema-*shot And Lucina is hugely popular. (As is pairing her with Robin, which the reveal seemed to hint at a bit.) She's more popular, and stronger, than Chrom.  Yeah I really don't get why she's popular as a character.  She had the least interesting personality out of all the second generation characters in Awakening and she feels so stiff and predictable with all of her interactions.  It was kind of hard to feel for her.

I do agree she was the least interesting of the kids, but that doesn't mean she wasn't popular. Which was my point, she's popular.

And even if she was made to be similar to Marth, doesn't mean she's worse than other clones, who are similar by (according to what you say) coincidence? Any clone is designed to be a clone.

I was going to say that, "At least her being a clone makes sense.", what with her being  a descendant of Marth and even using the same battle animations as the Marth Einherjars in-game, but then again now that I think about it, the only one who really doesn't make sense is Ganondorf coming from Captain Falcon.

So I enjoy watching reaction videos to things like the character reveal trailers, and it's really strange how so many people instantly recognize Lucina, but then have no idea who Robin is when he shows up.

...guilty.

That's cool about the KO stuff. Personally, I find the new ones where they're smushed against the front screen pretty funny.

I assume that those kind of KOs will no longer occur in the last 20-30 seconds or something.

One of the worse things ever was during the demo's for the game I got an off the top K.O., but they never finished dying so I ended up losing. Was dumb.

We've all had matches like that, such BS when an enemy doesn't finish dying when time is called.

At the very least, the other clones have different things to offer.  The moves of clones are similar, but function much more differently than the original characters.  Lucina wouldn't even feel like her own character in the slightest.  She would feel more like a cheap knock-off to Marth compared to other clones when it comes to that difference.  An alternate skin for Marth as Lucina would've sufficed perfectly and fit the intended flavor in addition to acknowledging her popularity, but she isn't deserving of her own slot on the roster.  She'd be known as 'That completely generic character' on the roster.

Yeah, how dare they put Marth in this game!

You know, frankly, I don't even care if she's virtually the same.

You just got have fun complaining, Digi-Boy, I'm sure your just anger will result in great advances for all of us.

I'll probably end up playing her since I actually like Lucina, since one of the reasons I never played Marth was just I thought he was pretty meh.

If you could have a costume for a character that changed them into an entirely different character, what would you want? A Strider Hiryu costume for Greninja would be so perfect (I imagine someone will mod it in at some point).

Maybe it will one day.  Maybe, my anger and raging can be a source of entertainment for future generations of users, right?

My thoughts exactly.

Birthday Suit Samus

A Tetra skin for Zelda would be pretty cool, though that might require a seperate character.

Protoman/Zero costume for Megaman?

Shadow/Metal Mario alts?

Really hoping they fix that this gen. Ganon shouldn't be that hard to give his own move set.

See, normally I don't, since I never play with time.

Seriously though, just let Ganondorf have some moves where he uses the sword he's had in taunts and victory poses since melee D:

It wouldn't be hard to come up with stuff, either.

Heck, one of his attacks during the final fight in Twilight Princess is partly his Fsmash, he jabs forward with his elbow, then extends his arms to slash with his sword. Just add that second part on to his Fsmash, for starters.

I'd want some of his moves to be the same (dat spike), but if Ganondorf were some really powerful mix of swordsmanship and just beating the heck out of people, that'd be awesome.

btw, all the info is pointing to the idea that the gematsu leak wasn't wrong, but that it was right for an earlier version of the game (not the first person to say this, but watevs)

So basically, Shulk and Chorus Men are still on the table, but it's possible they may have been cut since that information was gathered. Chorus Men are likely more likely since as most of us have noted: how the hell would they even play. Although it may be possible that Sakurai put them in with an idea in mind.

As for the "_____ will be revealed tomorrow" thing that the leak got wrong. Yeah, that was wrong. However, there are a lot of people who had semi-reliable leaks when it came to the actual reveals that had the same thing incorrect. There's also a chance this was Sakurai trying to find out who leaked it by giving out false info to different people. I mean he did troll basically everyone on the whole Shulk thing as well. It's also a possibility that the leak may have only known that Fire Emblem reps were to be shown and assumed Chrom because of an earlier build, but I enjoy the idea of Sakurai trolling those with access to the game a whole lot more, tbh.

Basically, my conclusion is this: Original Gematsu leak isn't completely wrong, it's just out of date. There were characters at that time which were undecided yet, such as Greninja, (which was reiterated by Sakurai in the Smash roundtable), and others added later, as well as certain characters cut. So while the Gematsu leak isn't necessarily going to confirm everything or get everything right, that doesn't mean it's completely deconfirmed or that Chorus Men and Shulk have a 0% chance of being there. (especially the latter)
